Hard disagree, I love the M5 for FPS personally. Aiming feels incredibly natural and I didn't need any adjustment period (other than adding a ton of grip tape).

As others mentioned, the Keychron M5 is the best option out there at the moment. Lightest vertical mouse with a proper gaming sensor. I haven't seen others mention this much but at least for me, I aim better in shooters on the M5 than on conventional mice. I think the wrist angle is really great for fine control, especially aiming left/right. At least for me, it feels more natural and precise than a conventional mouse (used Gpro x for years before this). And comfort is much better. I just wish it was even lighter. An actual lightweight version would be awesome. Also, someone needs to try making a vertical fingertip mouse, I think that concept has great potential

Keychrons have web config, nothing needs to be installed locally. M5 is pretty good.

Worse than the Logitech Lift it replaced (worse build quality, worse scroll wheels - no SmartScroll, not as comfortable) but 8K polling is 8K and it was relatively cheap. It's the only vertical mouse with decent sensor and polling.

Hello, A while back, I started having elbow issue and my doctor recommended trying an ergonomic mouse. It was a good advice, although I still get the occasional pain I can now still spend up to 10 hours a day in front of a computer. There also began my quest for the perfect mouse, and I can’t say that I found the perfect match but I’m satisfied with what I have. I thought I’d share my comparison between 3 popular mice, since trying them added up to a fair amount of money. **Logitech MX vertical** The obvious choice. It is very comfortable, feels great in hand, is functional and is fairly cheap. This will probably be the ideal one for most people. But as most people know, it has a fatal flow: a very limited 150hz polling. Some will say that if are only doing office work it doesn’t matter, that this kind of detail only counts if you’re a competitive gamer. I strongly disagree. If you use screens with a high refresh rate and are used to it, this mouse just doesn’t feel smooth when moving it. Some people don’t care, some will even insult you for saying you need a high refresh and polling rate for anything else than competitive games. The hell with them. It’s really a shame, if Logitech ever releases a version with an improved captor, it will probably be the unambiguous best choice on the market. I still use it at my workplace though. I only have 60 and 70hz screens there, so moving the mouse feels sluggish anyway. **Razer Pro click V2 vertical** The second obvious choice, it is THE “gaming” vertical mouse (and I’m going to keep saying vertical rather than ergonomic here) everyone is talking about on the Internet, reviews on Youtube, etc. It seems to be a hit or miss with people, some say it’s great, other mentioned they didn’t like the way it felt in the hand. It is also quite more expensive than the Logitech. But I needed a decent ergonomic mouse and the return policy on Amazon is always no questions asked so I ordered it. And while I didn’t mind the shape, I had a lot of other issues that were not mentioned by reviewers. The first thing I noticed was the weight. Even though it’s only 15 grams more than the Logitech, it felt almost like the double, probably due to its shape and how it rests in the hand. It felt quite weird in the beginning but I got used to it and immediately got better scores in Aimlabs compared to the MX Vertical. The polling rate is much higher, so no issue there, it felt smooth and nice again on screen. I also appreciated how the extra thumb buttons are laid out, you only need to shift your finger a bit up or down and both are perfectly usable in games. On other mice I use only one of the buttons because the other is a pain to reach. But it had a very annoying flaw. Maybe it’s just me, but because of its weight and shape, it was almost impossible at times to lift it to recenter it on my mouse mat. You can’t really seize it because you will hit the top thumb button. It was only when I got a fair amount on sweat on my hand that I was able to have some grip on it. And that’s not even the worse. After some time, my elbow pain wasn’t really getting that much better. It started becoming uncomfortable very quickly, but for some reason when I was at work often coding 5 hours without taking a break, I wasn’t even noticing it. So it became obvious, the Razer mouse was doing more harm then good. It is almost fully vertical compared to the Logitech which is fairly angled, and keeping your wrist angled at 90 degrees up is in the end not much more natural than having it flat on regular mouse. That plus the weight was in the end probably putting even more strain on my nerve than my good old G903. Too bad I missed the window to send it back to Amazon, but I was able to sell it to someone who hopefully will have a better experience (and won’t have spent as much money if they don’t). **Keychron M5** So I needed a new model to try out and there wasn’t much choice on Amazon. Actually, there was pretty much nothing that seemed even decent, only very cheap ones. The only one I found that was regularly mentioned was the Keychron M5. Some liked it, some said it was really cheap built, they didn’t like the click and it also has that kind of little finger rest that a lot of users hated on the Razer. But I was out of options, so I ordered it from Keychron’s website knowing that if I didn’t like it I would have send it back to China with my own money, so pretty much not worth it. It took quite a while to arrive and when I took it out of the pack, my first reaction was “Oh shit, another one that is super hard to lift”. But in the end it wasn’t. It’s not as easy as the Logitech with its texture, but its fine. It’s only 95 grams so with just a little bit of sweat in hand it becomes a breeze, and you can actually squeeze it without hitting a button. About the cheap feeling people got, it’s… fine? It is very light, so it’s not premium sturdy material but the built quality seems perfectly adequate to me. Same for the click, it feels like a mouse click, I’ve been using them for close to 30 years and I don’t really anything wrong. The scroll is ok, I really miss the free wheel I had on the G903 but none of the other ones have that either. And there’s that thumb mouse wheel but I use a trackpad for horizonal scroll so I don’t have much to may about it. I did run into some technical issues though. At times the mouse would stop responding for like a second then jump on the screen, and there were even stutters in games. I lowered the ridiculously high 8000hz max polling rate to 1000 which is more than a enough anyway, but that’s still a weird problem, I don’t know if it’s a fault on my particular unit. Also, I realized that if my G903 was powered on (I still use it occasionally for practicality), I would get the same kind of problem. Probably the 2.4ghz bandwidth becoming too busy, but I own and have owned a fair number of peripherals using a 2.4ghz dongle and it’s the first time I encounter this problem. Faulty unit? Poor built issue? No idea. **Conclusion** So, in the end I’m satisfied with the Keychron M5. It’s not as comfortable as the MX Vertical, but the trade off for the polling rate is worth it. Those are my opinions that are linked to my hands and usage on those three models, you might feel totally differently, but my recommendation is Logitech MX Vertical if you don’t care about the polling rate, avoid the Razer and the Keychron might not be the best alternative out there but I’m satisfied with it.

For pure competitive gaming they are subpar. Especially for shooters. And it's not a technology problem really, there's vertical mice with modern specs. (Keychron M5 being the best option here) It's a physics problem, when you apply a force sideways on the mouse, it wants to move. This means every time you click to fire, your aim shifts. And while you can learn to compensate somewhat, you will never be perfect at doing so.

I recently replaced my Logitech Lift with a Keychron M5, and so far I'm very happy with it. Although personally I never needed much beyond the two extra buttons. The second scroll wheel works pretty well for productivity, although I tend to forget about it more often than not. The high polling rate when using a 2.4G receiver really makes a difference if you have a high-refresh monitor though, which was the main reason I decided to switch anyway.

Yeah I’ll never go back from vertical mice. I’m using the keychron one. I hope someone makes a vertical mouse with more buttons on the side that would be cool

I said cubital tunnel, not carpal tunnel, learn to read Cubital tunnel is your elbow, while carpal tunnel is your wrist. Totally different body part. And most people with mild cubital syndrome don't know why they have pain It took years for me to get bad enough I had to seek out medical attention, but lots of people have low grade problems. Keychron m5 and razor pro click v2 vertical edition are good ergonomic gaming mice
