"the tried and true Logitech G502 is just as good as a fraction of the price."

"I've had mine for over a year now and it's great. ... Goes on sale often and the G502 Hero is currently only $37. ... For what I paid for the mouse ive no complaints. ... for £30 it works great for now"

"Bought mine for ~$40 and it's lasted for 4 years so far."

"I’ve had mine for around a decade with minimal issues."

"I've also used mine for well over 3 years now ... I wouldn't want to switch to anything else."

"G502 had it for 5 years so good"

"the g502 wheel is vastly superior."

"G502 because it has a button to let the scroll wheel free wheel. That's saying enough"

"The infinite scroll. ... For long pages, coding, and using so many apps (even 3D modelling, game engines etc). It makes life so much easier. Once you're past the learning curve, you can't go back. It's like scrolling on a phone screen."

"the buttons on the left mouse click for sensitivity can be rebound and are a blast to use."

"I used my G502 for years and I loved it because I was learning MnK, the buttons really helped me quite a lot ... Now I just usually bind my melee button in most shooters and the other button I might pick some kind of game specific action"

"Three thumb buttons plus two next to the LMB ... I find it's enough ... I've struggled with actual MMO mice being uncomfortable to use"

"G502 fits my meat mallets."

"Reason I always get a new g502 is the button placement for using mouse4 as my crouch is just too perfect /comfortable"

"G502 - Over 2m tall here with shovel hands."

"But every freakin mouse gets double click issues."

"double click issue"

"I kept having the switch in the left mouse button fail."

"HATED how flat and small at the front it felt"

"its def not the shape or weight lol ... its really the g502 by a mile and its despite its shape and weight definitely not because of it."

"it was too small and cramped for my hands ... The G502 and Basilisk thumb area is a bit cramped. I don't have thick fingers, but long ones and my thumbs are a bit wider at the tips than on most people."

"I use a g502 with all weights attached 💀💀 ... I switch between a g502 and a g pro super light and the difference is like running and waddling through water"

"Thing is a brick ... After using light weight mice it's hard to go back to that weight."

"the weight is way too much even for work."

I use a 144hz screen, I have a G502 and an MX3s. Honestly yeah the G502 is more responsive, but the MX3s is way more comfortable. I just switch between them depending on what I need to do.

It’s kinda random compared to his remaining collection - that’s what I meant. Personally I’m still on my Proteus Spectrum after almost 10 years, stock except skates, never had issue with clicks or buttons. Never had problems with GHub as well and love its features.

I got a new Logitech mouse and keyboard in 2018/2019 and both were dead by the 2nd year. The keyboard was a replacement for my other G910 that also had the double type issue after 1 year. Replaced it with 2 other brands (Razer mouse/Corsair keyboard) and now it's been great since then. The G502 proteus was great, but the Hero variant is terrible. Replaced it with the Basilisk V3 which works flawlessly and it's not even close. Maybe they got better again with the G502X, but i'll practice some social distancing with that brand for now and Razer seems like a good alternative for the mouse so far. Edit: corrected years

I have a g502 Proteus. Been planning on upgrading to wireless when the mouse breaks, but that hasn't happened. Were the pre HERO g502s more durable?

My G502 Proteus Spectrum died the other day after 8 years. Had the G400 for a few years before that. Now upgrading to the G502 X Plus Wireless, hoping quality is still as durable 😅

Check out the Logitech g502. The older models from like 9 years ago are more comfortable for small hands so I try to get those instead of new

Yeah mostly those are new ones. I think mine is called the Proteus Spectrum. It's an old model they don't make anymore but I prefer it to all the newer ones.

Oh yeah? Well, your 5yr old g502 is shitty compared to my 10 year old g502. ![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized)

Been using the G502 Proteus Spectrum on my desktop for years. Haven't found anything I like better. I also have a G502 Hero Lightspeed for my laptop.

Your problem with the proteus is easily manageable. Just use box cutter and VERY CAREFULLY cut the cord's sleeve and strip the cable. Just make sure to not cut too deep and only use the cutter to cut the sleeve and not the actual cable.

Even better, you can just cut the frailing part of the sleeve and then use a lighter to slightly melt the cables back together so that they dont frail anymore

I’ve had my G502 proteus core going on 11 years now. It is by far the best mouse I’ve ever had and I recommend it to anyone.
