Agree with another comment, the g3 is the safest bet, same shape, better tech, virtually no downsides as it's also pretty cheap. I'd stay away from a new g305 since it's heavy and you have to keep buying batteries. Also steelseries mice in general are pointless, much better tech exists for the price. The X3 and R1 are pretty well reviewed but the hump will be higher profile, so be wary if you want to experiment.

Zaopin Z1 Pro Max looks good. I never tried it but read good things. I have had good personal experiences with the Fantech Aria XD7. The Fantech Aria II is the most recent model of said mouse. The Mchose g3 v2 pro looks nice also which is a clone of an egg shaped Logitech mouse if I remember correctly. I currently main a different MChose mouse and it’s pretty great quality-wise I wouldn’t worry too much about the occasional negative review. The Chinese brand mice are really good all around. Most negative mouse reviews on here are nitpicking- which is to be expected from enthusiasts

MCHOSE G3 V2 has a good implementation of PAW3311, but at the right price go for G3 V2 Pro PAW3395. VXE R1 is a similar situation; go for the PAW3395 model R1. Pro has coating & Nordic MCU power efficiency. Attack Shark X3 unfortunately I can't recommend. Go Kysona Aztec (M600S) / M600 V2 both solid firmware.

I have an Mchose G3 V2 that I really like. I've heard people say the VXE R1 is better though, not sure.

If you really want a AA battery operated mouse, look at the Logitech G304. If not, I have an Mchose G3 v2 which is the exact same shape (ambi). It's very comfortable for casual use and light as well. Great for gaming too!

I own a variety of gaming mice and the mouse brands that I can suggest for you under 3k are ATK, VXE, Scyrox, and Mchose. Since you are not a competitive gamer and prefer egg shaped mice, then I suggest the Mchose G3 V2 Pro and VXE V3 Pro. Mchose G3 V2 Pro utilizes the Mechanical Omron D2FC-F-7N switches (100m) while the VXE V3 Pro utilizes the Huano Blue Shell Pink Dot (the top rated mechanical switch in the community). The difference between the two are the sensors. Mchose has the PixArt 3395 while the VXE has the PixArt 3395 SE. Both are reliable naman. If you really want the iconic egg shaped mouse, the Logitech G304/G305, then I suggest Logitech's latest G304 X Lightspeed. It utilizes the same mechanical switches as the G Pro X Superlight (Omron D2FC-F-7N (G1) 20m), which are prone to double clicking.

R1 is the better shape imo. The G3 is a fine mouse, it's in the egg G305 shape though and unless you are specifically a fan of that mouse (of which the Mchose is the better version) I think you'd be best off on R1.
