Hello Mouse mavens, I'm trying to replace three dying Logitech M310 mice (one has a dead button, two act like low battery but batteries were replaced and checked with a multimeter, etc). I'd describe my grip style as claw-ish and I wear size Large exam gloves. The M310 fits well in length and depth but my pinky hangs off awkwardly, and my favorite mice have been the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 and Intellimouse Optical. Sometimes I play FPS games, other times simulation or strategy, and I do occasional image editing for work. One concern of mine is hardware and OS compatibility, as I have a generic wired mouse that works acceptably in Windows, but in an UEFI BIOS it only moves left-or-right, never up-or-down; I'll also be testing various NAS OSes (probably Linux based) soon. Finally, and biggest restriction: my budget is $30 per mouse. I am fine with both wired and wireless options, and I haven't paid much attention to technical specs like polling, DPI, acceleration, etc., and don't care about lighting options. I'm considering the following mice and would love some feedback! Thank you! * VXE [Dragonfly R1 $24\~$29](https://www.atk.store/products/vxe-dragonfly-r1-series-wireless-mouse?variant=44857375326426) and [A9 Series $25, $30](https://www.atk.store/products/atk-dragonfly-a9-series-lightweight-wireless-mouse?variant=46320045949146) (models base, N, SE+ and base, SE, respectively. I appreciate everyone who commented, and who voted on said comments. Seems the Logi G305, Redragons, and FFJs were universally shunned. Since my total budget was $90, I went with one Fantech XD5 for $37.24 after tax/ship/coupon, one ATK Dragonfly A9 SE for $25.98, and an ATK VXE Dragonfly R1 S for $19.98, for a total of $83.20. I look forward to seeing which one is my favorite. I plan to keep the XD5 at home, take the A9 with me on the road, and have the R1 on my (new to me) server that I'll probably rarely need to use. I hope that my post helps someone else on a tight budget. Hopefully I'll remember to come back and tell y'all how they fare in a couple weeks or months. Until then, cheers!
I feel you. I have a similar grip. I played on my MS Intelli 1.1A for about 20 years until the cable broke. I have new cables, but I cannot be arsed to solder. So I tried a couple of mice. Most feel too long, too narrow, too low, or the hump is bothersome. I would say, give the Intelli 1.1A shape a try. Not sure which shape is closest, but I had to pick one that felt somewhat close. For me, that is the Razer Viper V3 shape. I use the ATK X1 because Razer is unnecessarily too expensive. It is not perfect(less wide, slightly different hump), but it comes close. On Eloshapes other mice fit better in measurements, but the feel is not always as accurate as people think.
A Logitech Wingman Gaming mouse but it didn't look like a gaming mouse, for that it would probably be my Razer Boomslang, was good while it lasted...about 4 months and the right mouse button stopped working. That was a common theme with Razer mice for me I stopped buying them after the Copperhead. But for the start of playing Quake I used a Logitech Trackman Marble thumb trackball for years, I used it and mice and I kept going back to it, finally stopped using it around 2002, started having trouble with my thumb. Favorite mice from back then are the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical 1.1 or 1.1a and the Steelseries Kana v2, but the Kana was not the best made mouse, but thankfully relatively cheap at the time around $30. I still have like 8 1.1/1.1a that work. I miss mice that had a side button on both sides, I fingertip grip so I could actually use both easily.
As someone who had 2 copperheads doubeclick and skip around the screen in last then 6 months I concur. I went back to the ms 1.1

It's a good mouse, but as every mouse it's a preference. I had the ec1 for probably 8-10 years and bought a superlight and tried it for 3 months. I never got used to it. Came from a intellimouse 3.0, then the ec1 gen 1 and all iterations after that. Now I have a glorious model d 2 pro that is basically a clone of the ec1. Loved it from day 1. The logitech is a ambidextrous mouse, it reminded me of the intellimouse 1,0. Buy what you like and what feels best for you. The only thing I could recommend is to buy one with one of the latest sensors
**[Microsoft IntelliMouse](https://blogs.windows.com/devices/2018/06/26/a-legend-reborn-microsoft-brings-back-the-iconic-mouse-the-classic-intellimouse/)** (*[Wiki link](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=IntelliMouse&oldid=1315094778)*). Though I didn't use the original 1996 IntelliMouse Explorer nor all the multiple IntelliMouse Optical and Explorer models between 2000 - 2004/5, I purchased and use the then updated black/grey IntelliMouse 3.0 when it was released in 2006. FYI, IntelliMouse 3.0 name was used twice, first was for the office based 2003 version, but later again in a visually and hardware refreshed version for gaming in 2006. It was updated in 2017 as the IntelliMouse Classic, and most recently as the Pro IntelliMouse (SKU: NGX-00012) in 2019, but I skipped these. The IntelliMouse 3.0 (in fact, most of them) are was a weird, low DPI mouse with high scanning sensors, hyper precise and comfortable, and just looked cool to me. I miss them 😢
WMO IntelliMouse 1.1 Explorer 3.0 etc was used my a very few top tier players up until 2019 / 2020. I myself have used it (MLT04 sensor) since it got released on and off until now, overclocked to 500 or 1000 hz is is still viable and if it had a faster pcb I would prolly main it still since I still have aim records with it that I cannot beat with new mice. Some aimers also still have records using the first superlight even though newer mice exist and afaik the best rifler in cs2, donk used it just a couple of months ago. Superstrike looks like the new thing that will last a while now..
I have the g502 hero, wish it was a little bigger for bigger hands. Microsoft intellimouse I think is the perfect size
