Microsoft Sidewinder X8. Still has the best side button placement of any mouse I've used. Strange to think I started out as a palm gripper and am now a fingertip user.
r/MouseReview • What was your first "official" gaming mouse? ->There were a lot of different gaming mice back then. Razer's Naga line launched back then, as well as various other MMO mice (I remember a friend had a SteelSeries WoW mouse. Although a lot of mice from that era had more than the 5 buttons that are common today. Razer had the Lachesis, Deathadder, Copperhead, and some others which were solid options. Logitech had the G3, G5, G7, G9, G9x, MX518 and I believe the G500 all were popular. Microsoft Sidewinder was a solid mouse. If I remember right the Cyber Snipa was out around that time too. Which was a great mouse for the price at the time. The Saitek Cyborg also may have been out around that time. This is all just me thinking out loud of mice that I owned, friends owned, or I wanted.
