Based on 1 year's data from Feb 25, 2026 How it works
I'll second this recommendation, although my experience is with the slightly larger version, the VT3 Max Gen-2. Been using it for I dunno, at least a month, maybe more, and had zero issues. It's a lot of mouse for the money. I've also got their VT2 Max Gen-2 (GPX2 clone, basically), and it's been equally good. If I'm recalling correctly, the Max (their top variant) retails around $60 USD, and even at that price I'd consider it good value. That said, I think their website basically hands out a standard 10% discount if you give them an email address or something, and they ran a 20% discount for Halloween. That's when I picked up the VT3 Max Gen-2 for I think like $43 and change with shipping included, which I'd argue is exceptional value for what's on offer. Can't say how often they run sales like this, but maybe see one again around the end of the year? Who knows. All in all, I've been exclusively using first the VT2, and now the VT3, for multiple months total between them both and they've impressed the hell out of me. Assuming they hold up well over time I'd say they're a front runner, at least for me, in their price range, no question. Good luck, and hope you find what you're after when all's said and done.
๐ฑ๏ธ Rapoo VT2 Max โ Quick Review **The Basics** [Photos](https://i.imgur.com/86sL4nE.png) Grip Style: [Claw / Fingertip / Palm] Weight: [~53g] Shape: [Symmetrical / Medium-Large] Sensor & Polling Rate: [PAW3950 Ultimate, Native 8000Hz] Connection: [Wireless / Wired] Main Switches: [Rapoo 120M Optical Switches] Price: [$59.99] Unit sent for review, but does not affect my opinions. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ ๐๏ธ Build & Design Rapoo has historically been a budget contender, but the VT2 Max feels like a serious step up. Weighing in at just around 53g, theyโve managed to shave off about 10% of the weight compared to previous models without compromising structural integrity. It feels dense and premium, not hollow. The shape is symmetrical and very familiar, if you've ever used a G Pro (who hasn't by now), then you know exactly what you're going to be getting. The side button placement is spot on, easy to reach without accidentally hitting them, and they feel a LOT better than the logi offering, not mushy at all, very tactile and would be great for the Fortnite spammers out there. They also include your standard accessories package in the box: the dongle, a USB adapter, replacement PTFE feet, and some grip tape, though the texture on it wasn't my favorite. The coating is a rubbery-matte texture that feels pretty good, but does seem to show oil from your fingers pretty well, at least on the black version that I have. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ๐ฎ Performance & Features This is where the mouse honestly embarrasses some of the $150+ flagships. Itโs running the top-tier PAW3950 Ultimate sensor paired with the Nordic nRF54L15 MCU. Native 8K Polling: It supports true 8000Hz wireless polling right out of the box. In testing, the tracking is visibly smoother on high refresh rate monitors compared to standard 1K mice. Switches: Rapoo is using their custom Optical Switches rated for a massive 120 million clicks. Since they are optical, you get zero debounce delay and, crucially, no risk of double-clicking issues down the line. I've never been a big fan of opticals when it comes to click feel, but I will say these are definitely not the worst feeling clicks ever. Not as crisp as omron opticals, but miles better than raesha and whatever roccat uses. Definitely usable and I've had no issues so far. Customization: A cool feature for the min-maxers out there is the Independent X/Y DPI. If you play on a stretched resolution or an ultrawide monitor, you can actually set your vertical and horizontal sensitivity independently to get a 1:1 feel. The DPI goes up to 30k, in 10 point increments, so if you're someone who uses a very specific DPI, that might be something to keep in mind. The software does give some pretty good info that you don't get with every mouse, like showing you estimated battery life based on your polling rate and dongle settings: [1khz](https://i.imgur.com/oVWiFxq.png) vs [8khz](https://i.imgur.com/IgczwWW.png) for example. It also comes with your [standard debounce and motion sync etc.](https://i.imgur.com/ta8vDek.png) settings, along with that sensor angle offset feature I mentioned before. All in all, no complaints when it comes to the software on this one. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ๐ Battery Life Comes with an 800mAh battery. The efficiency of that Nordic chip is doing some heavy lifting here. Rapoo advertises up to 750 hours of battery life at 1000Hz. Even if you are running this at 4K or 8K polling (which naturally drains more power), the longevity is fantastic compared to the industry standard. You wont be needing to charge this thing every other day. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ๐ Pros & Cons ๐ Pros: Value Proposition: You are getting specs (PAW3950, 8K, Optical Switches) that usually cost $170+ for under $60. Size/Weight: At 53g, itโs nimble, but large enough for palm/claw hybrid grips on bigger hands. Independent X/Y Axis: A niche but cool feature for specific setups. Optical Reliability: 120M click lifespan means this thing is built to last. ๐ Cons: Weight balance: it has a fairly hefty battery that's placed in the back of the shell, which does make it the slightest bit back-heavy, so if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, this might not be the mouse for you unless you want to swap out the battery or move it around. Shape: While safe, it doesn't take many risks, it's a crowd-pleaser shape rather than something unique. I'm not the biggest fan of the G-Pro shape myself, but clearly a lot of people are, and this one wont disappoint if that's your thing. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ๐ Verdict Ideally, this is a pro-grade wireless mouse that gives you a competitive edge in work and play, without draining your wallet. It hits every single spec point that the "big boys" do; lightweight, 8K polling, top sensor; but does it for a fraction of the price. If you want flagship performance without the "brand tax," this is the one is worth the shout. They were also kind enough to provide a 10% off coupon on the Amazon store if anyone is interested in buying this mouse or any other Rapoo products, which stacks with any other coupon or deal currently running on the site: XSJ65D7R ๐ Rating: [7/10]
The prices are crazy. I ordered a vt3 max in the middle of setting up my vt7 because I was so impressed. Vt2 is super tempting just for the value alone.
Rawm es21 pro (or ES21/ER21 if you need something cheaper), also rapoo vt7/vt3gen2/vt2gen and atk mice with 3395 sensor and better, scyrox v6/v8, zaopin
Vt3 is ergo he should go vt2 (gpx clone) or vt7 (vv3 clone)
Rapoo VT7 / VT7 Max for Viper V3 "Clone" Rapoo VT2 / VT2 Max for Logitech GPX Clone Rapoo VT3 / VT3 Max for Deathadder or EC ergo mouse All of these, to my knowledge, are within the $40-$60 range and they all sport 8K polling and around 53-54 grams. They also all have on-board memory and profiles with Macro setups. Currently, I have the VT7 with 20 x 10.5 cm hands
The gen 2 Rapoo mice are really good around that priceย
As for mice with the most up to date hardware you can take a look at RAWM Leviathan v4, Rapoo gen 2 mice, and ATK A9 Ultimate. Pick a shape that you prefer. I have used Rapoo's mouse, and I am impressed by the build quality
