"The razer basilisk v2 and v3 both have scroll wheel tilt I believe!"
"much worse scroll wheel than the Lift, and my previous non-vertical mouse, the Razer Basilisk V3. ... I guess it doesn't get the free-spin wheel of the non-vertical version? That would be a shame because it otherwise looks like the best option so far."

"I’d recommend the Razer Basilisk V3 or the ASUS ROG Spatha X if you’re looking for a mouse with 6+ programmable buttons."

"if you have larger hands like I do, some might not be the best fit. In that case, I’d recommend the Razer Basilisk V3"

"Right now, I am begrudgingly giving Razer another shot with a Basilisk v3 because it has optical switches as well. ... Invariably they all let me down, usually with the switches failing for either the left or right button in a short amount of time."

"it ate my batteries like crazy"
2 extra buttons on top and maybe 6 on the side at most I’d say before it starts getting hard to click, so like a 12 button mouse at most. but I’ve found 8 button mouse to be the most comfortable for me and it’s what I’d recommend for MMO’s and age, but that being said if you can learn to use an 18 button mouse it’s a huge help, makes it so quick to react, but if you’ve only used a 5 button standard mouse up to now might be too steep a jump into 18 buttons right away. They tend to be pricier per button too. I’m on the basalisk v3 by razer rn
Not sure if you want to but you could look up used mice as well. I managed to get mice like the G502 X, Basilisk V3, DeathAdder V2/V3 for under 30$ each (usually 1.5-2x the price new around here so it might not be an option for you). I thought the thumb rest was a necessity for me as well but in the end the DeathAdder shape is what fits my hand perfectly.
It affects battery life too much since most people are turning towards wireless. There are still some mice like G502 X Plus with lines on its back or one of the Razer Basilisk even has it on the sides so it shines on the mousepad.
Practice and shape are most important. GPX clones are a safe place to start, Mchose A7 V2, ATK A9, Incott G23 V2. If you prefer a bit larger but still symmetrical, there are Viper clones, but I've only used one so far, namely the Eweadn S9. If you want larger ergo mice, my current main and favourite is the DeathAdder V3 Pro if you can find it for that much, otherwise if the wire doesn't bother you the regular V3 is the same but cheaper. If you need more buttons and don't mind the weight, Basilisk V3, I tried the G502X but the Basilisk felt better for me.
Since they already mentioned the Basilisk V3, I'd chime in and add that you should check the used market for one. I got one off Vinted for half the retail price where I live and it's only "issue" was that it had no original packaging, the mouse was practically brand new.
razer basilisk v3 white edition 👍
I have my Razer mouse and keyboard from 12 years ago. I really want to replace my keyboard with a newer one, but it just feels so good. I just have had enough of the green RGB haha. Bought the Razer low profile mechanical as it was on sale and returned it. Battery life was mediocre and the RGB setting did not work wirelessly. Bought a Razer Basilisk V3 (non pro) as it was also cheap and it's alright so far. Wanted to have wireless peripherals, so my 2013 deathadder and BlackWidow would retire, but I just cannot find anything worth replacing them with. Would probably get a Keychron QMax series, but they are expensive in Canada. No software is a big win. Razer, Asus ROG, SteelSeries, etc will all have a good product here and there, but they often need their bloated spyware installed.
Orochi felt a bit too small for my hands , leaning towards the Basilisk v3 now
Basilisk it is then,300 more is a fair deal ig
Demn thanks vro will get it soon
Ah my friends have ordered the basilisk v3 , the orochi was too small for my hands , and the death adder’s battery was a turn off . I already have a casual wireless mouse i use for daily use , so the basilisk should be great for fps gaming .
+1 been using Basilisk V3 for about 2 years no issues. Got it for a mix of gaming and productivity because of that side scrolling feature.
I got a new Logitech mouse and keyboard in 2018/2019 and both were dead by the 2nd year. The keyboard was a replacement for my other G910 that also had the double type issue after 1 year. Replaced it with 2 other brands (Razer mouse/Corsair keyboard) and now it's been great since then. The G502 proteus was great, but the Hero variant is terrible. Replaced it with the Basilisk V3 which works flawlessly and it's not even close. Maybe they got better again with the G502X, but i'll practice some social distancing with that brand for now and Razer seems like a good alternative for the mouse so far. Edit: corrected years
Is it really that bad? Loved my Proteus and went for the Hero. I wasn't a fan so i returned it. I picked up the Basilisk V3 which i really like. But in case it would let me down, the G502X would be my next pick.
I use the basilisk v3. I’ve gotten sick of logitech and every mouse i’ve ever owned of theirs getting double click within a year or two. It’s better than the g502 imho
Yeah! Coming from a Logitech G9 (rest in peace my old friend) I tried a Basilik v3 as well. The tech is cool but the shape?! Instant carpal tunnel issues, WTF! After trying some other mice I was fed up with it. Im not gonna wait till someone builds shit for me. Decided to model and 3D print some parts+hot glue to give it back some much needed volume and now it's perfect for me. I call it the Dazilisk now. If you have the means, definitely try to come up with your own ergonomics, it's quality-of-life +100 https://preview.redd.it/yax6svechtjf1.png?width=771&format=png&auto=webp&s=8552919154196a98564b0272c7da5f78d9886dbd
I think we might just be lucky. I own a basilisk v3 that has seen very heavy use over 2 years and is still going strong
