Have you tried using it recently? I tried it again a long time ago (I bought it when it first came out, but came across it again) and man, I can't believe we tolerated ball mice. Plus the ergonomics of that thing... I bought the marketing hook line and sinker. Still, the 2000 dpi did help?
Razer Boomslang. Yes, I'm that old.
My original Razer Boomslang still works. Not perfectly, the left mouse button has definitely seen better days, but it still functions. And I beat hell out of it playing Diablo 2 when they both came out.
I tried a demo of that boomslang at gencon 99 and it was mindblowing. Unheard of sensitivity.

Someone needs to remake the razer boomslang, i have the same issue of giant hands and it was the best shape for me.
A Logitech Wingman Gaming mouse but it didn't look like a gaming mouse, for that it would probably be my Razer Boomslang, was good while it lasted...about 4 months and the right mouse button stopped working. That was a common theme with Razer mice for me I stopped buying them after the Copperhead. But for the start of playing Quake I used a Logitech Trackman Marble thumb trackball for years, I used it and mice and I kept going back to it, finally stopped using it around 2002, started having trouble with my thumb. Favorite mice from back then are the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical 1.1 or 1.1a and the Steelseries Kana v2, but the Kana was not the best made mouse, but thankfully relatively cheap at the time around $30. I still have like 8 1.1/1.1a that work. I miss mice that had a side button on both sides, I fingertip grip so I could actually use both easily.
I mean I was excited to see the boomslang come back, but then saw it was a ridiculously limited release and just resigned myself to the feeling Iβd never get one again. I have the old one still, but itβs got the ball and all the dust issues that come with it.
I have two of those and a Naga in a drawer. They always start registering double clicks when a single one is made. Steel series for past 4 years no issues. I even had the first Razor Boomslang, but products have gone to junk IMO. Bums me out.
Razer Boomslang, the shape was hideous.
EDIT: It was the original Boomslang. Boomslang 2000. Still have it with the original box and round metal case.
Now that I think about it, it's the original Boomslang, not the 2000. I'd post a pic of I was able to.
Wow. You couldn't get me to buy one now if it had the best sensor. The side buttons were atrocious to use.
ever since the original release of the BoomSlang that ive struggled to find a mouse that fits me the way teh boomslang did....
if they did a normal release of it I'd buy it, but they going with a pu leather limited editions that only hits will get
