Had the original DeathAdder Chroma back when it was cool… loved that mouse but it only lasted 1.5years. Currently the Viper Ultimate holds up fine though.

Hey u/International_Use367, SUUUUUPER WEIRD but I'm in the exact situation and have spent most of the day looking for the EXACT SAME THING. I mean super exact! I too own a Basilisk (Ultimate) and I dug out my ancient Deathadder Chroma earlier today to test it out (turns out this was more comfortable than my Basilisk this whole time.. https://preview.redd.it/lt150792kxbf1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3913dd8c962b32be5869fa1eabde894b2eb64f18 I also wandered around a store today, mostly to check out the G502 because it's what everyone recommends, but the size and shape is extremely similar to the Basilisk (as far as I could tell from spending 5 minutes fondling one in a store), having handled one I have no idea why people recommend it. I think probably the next candidates I checked out were the Corsair Ironclaw, and the MX Master 3 from Logitech. Or one of those super weird vertical ergo things, but I dunno if I'm ready for that yet. I swiped this G403 Hero off someone because the scroll wheel died on it, it's pretty close to the Deathadder but there's not much in it. But if you happen to see this and find or get a recommendation that works for you, could you pass it along to me or tag me on it? Would be super appreciated.
Hey u/KennyMcCormick ! I shelved a Deathadder Chroma for a similar issue, these mice tend to get a static build up on the switches. Unplug it and try breathing in the the switch area slowly. The moisture from your breath might be enough to discharge the static. Worked on mine and it was a daily driver for like 6-7 years.

Get a deathadder chroma from 2014 or an og g pro wireless from 2018-19. Or get a glorious with a mechanical click and select 0 debounce. Those mice double click lime crazy. Or even triple click.
I have a DeathAdder Chroma that’s been going strong for like almost a decade at this point. The middle click failed a long time ago but that’s the only issue it’s had.

I have a Deathadder Chroma (~2016?) that started having the same issue. I was able to fix it by downloading a driver from Razer's website that specifically eliminates double clicking. You might be able to do the same thing!

If you know how to solder you can actually just buy mouse switches for like $6 on Amazon and replace the bad one in there. I did that to both buttons in my old deathadder 2013 and it survived up to this year before the scroll wheel started fucking up and I needed to take it out behind the shed and replace it with a Chroma. Mice are literally the only good product Razer makes, I haven't found anything that fits in the palm quite as well as the deathadder.

My Razer DA Chroma (2016 edition) is at 8 years and is still going strong.

I know there’s no such thing as a perfect product that never breaks, some even come damaged straight from the factory, but I’ve been using Death Adders since they first came out. My 2014 DA still works fine, and the only things I’ve ever had to replace on any of my DAs were the skates and the rubber grips. I take care of my peripherals and keep them clean. I picked up a DA 2021 because I wanted to go wireless, plus I’m used to the DA’s ergonomics. Makes me wonder sometimes how other people are using their devices.
