"With the Naga I map the center button on the bottom row to shift. ... And with that I can roll my thumb up, left, or right and get another three keybinds. ... And just having shift there also lets me press that for shift, instead of my left pinky. One less thing for my left hand to do. Makes Shift+4 while moving and jumping easier. ... This gives me ready, instant access to the entire hotbar. And with shift, an entire second hotbar (excepting shift+7 and shift+9)."

I have used the MMO mouse (Naga X) for 5 years without a single gripe or issue. I think the software used for that is very simple and good. I’ve heard their headsets are decent, I have no experience. I also have one of their keyboards (Black Widow Elite) but haven’t used it in a couple of years. It was solid though. I do have their speaker, Leviathan V2 X. The speaker lags a little bit, so don’t use it for competitive FPS. But for those, you should be using a headset anyway. I am not hugely into their stuff because I don’t care about RBG, but when I have bought it, my expectations have been met.

1. Naga X. By far the best MMO mouse on the market if you are looking for something more lightweight and with a more modern sensor. 2. People are doing ultimates on controllers. MMO mice are clearly not necessary. 3. Yes, it makes playing the game way easier, because I can use all my skills without ever letting go of WASD.

So my mouse (Razer Naga X) is dying after about 3-4 years of using it. I intended to buy it again, but to my surprise, it's not being sold anymore. I really like MMO mice and I actively use at least 6-8 of the side buttons. As far as I know, the only worthwhile models on the market are: 1. Corsair Scimitar (had it twice, both times broke in under 6 months, don't want to ever buy it again) 2. Steelseries Aerox (looks quite cheap, small and a bother to clean, not a big fan of these super light ones) 3. Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed (only wireless without the possibility of using a cable, which I hate) Are there any other options that are still sold today? I am desperate.

I went through a lot of them and in the end the default wired (and cheapest) Naga X is the best and lasts the longest so far. I think it's because the side plates arent removable, so the whole mouse holds together better. I had Trinity and Pro before and both had issues after a year and were unusable after 2. This Naga X is coming at year 4 and everything works as the day I bought it. If I had deep pockets and wanted a little more alternative button grid like you, I would go for Corsair Darkstar. Looks pretty dope, but I prefer full 12 button rectangle button grid. Plus the Darkstar is like the most expensive gaming mouse I ever saw lol.

Mouse is a personal preference. Check out r/MouseReview and do your research. For example I used Razer Naga for mmorpgs for ages, but I strated playing FPS with my Wooting and wanted a more FPS friendly gaming mouse ... I quickly realised that the most popular ones are ABSOLUTELY TINY. I don't even have giant hands, I have 19,5-10,5 hands. For example I bought the VXE R1 PRO which is one of the more popular ones thanks to the price and quality, but I had to send it back, because I couldnt even reach the side buttons with how small it was. Did some more research, at least I had a reference point to look through elo shapes here: [https://www.eloshapes.com/mouse/database](https://www.eloshapes.com/mouse/database) , so I just went through all mice with a reference for that VXE and Naga. Now I knew what I wanted: Mice as big as the Razer Naga, but lighter and with a hump in the back. I sorted them by size and ended up at Pulsar X3 that came out at the end of the year and I couldn't be happier. That was my journey of finding perfect mouse. I still use my Naga for mmorpgs and I switch to the Pulsar for every other game.

Razer Naga. I have 2 of them. The original version that I replaced after 10 years with the Razer Naga X. I've had great success with them, so I will continue to use them. My brother tried the Corsair Semitar and hated it. He's currently using some Red Dragon, and he loves it. I'm tempted to buy one to try it out purely due to the price.

My younger brother rocks the reddragon mmo mouse and keyboard. He loves them. He even bought two of the mice, one for his desktop and one for his laptop. As I said, I use the Razer Naga X currently, which I believe I bought back in 2020ish? Before that, I had the original Naga from back in 2009. The original still works outside the scroll wheel. So I've been lucky with my longevity of the Nagas.

Razer Naga is the best. I've used like 10 different MMO mice and the Razer Naga is just the best one. Brands MMO mouse I have used had terrible software problems. Although the Naga isn't totally perfect either. But its the best imo. Edit: Logitech G600 was trash. Kept having weird mouse issues where the mouse would bounce around. Happened with 2 different ones years apart. Honestly the worst MMO mouse I used. Also the ergonomics on it were the worst as well. Razer Naga Molten was good but the mouse button wore out within 6 months and I needed to open it up and hot glue the clicker to keep it working. Roccat Nyth was good and probably the longest lasting mouse I had. It started falling apart the mouse of any mouse I owned and was by far the most fragile feeling. Contradictory but thats how it was. Corsairs MMO mouse sucked ass. Kept having weird software problems. Razer Naga X wired so far is the best MMO mouse I've used. Had it 2 years now about and the biggest problem I have had was this weird problem where scrolling up/down would bounce around weirdly. But blowing air into it would fix it. It hasn't had that problem for a really long time though now. I've used more but I cant remember them off the top of my head. I used to have a literal pile of them in a box somewhere but I threw it away a few months ago. TL;DR though the MMO mouse scene is a bunch of garbage but the Razer Naga X is the least Garbage one I have used.

The best I ever had was the old Razer Naga molten edition or whatever - lasted several years until it started doubleclicking. I've since had two G600s, which are no longer available. These started doubleclicking. I've had two Razer Naga X's. The scroll wheels on these wound up skipping (scroll up, it goes down, scroll down, it goes up, back and forth) in just under two years each. I'm currently using a Razer Naga v2 Pro and I hate Synapse; it's buggy and unintuitive. I saved profiles to it but it took an act of black magic for them to actually work without Synapse being open; I had to save them, close Synapse entirely, then power off the mouse entirely for like 30 seconds before turning it back on in wired mode and it finally worked. Suffice it to say, I don't recommend it. I guess the positives are that it's wireless (though if you want to charge it wirelessly you'll have to buy their $70 charging dock) and the replaceable plates which... aren't that great? The six button configuration is two lines of buttons rather than the old seven button plate's circular config, so I imagine most people would default the max button plate. I would love a simple wired MMO mouse with optical switches and a good mouse wheel encoder. And if I'm really wishing for the perfect mouse, about nine side buttons which are slightly larger than the default 12 configuration would be great. Really, I just want one that will last another 7-8~ years. As it stands, I don't really have a suggestion.

I have mice with 12 side buttons like the Logitech G600 or Razer Naga X (both discontinued IIRC) so I can do a bunch of things quicker when using my PC. In games, they're just control groups; my convention for RTS are production buildings, raiding buildings, and an extra group for random units or 2nd army in team games. If I were more of a gamer, I'd opt for a lighter mouse. With lighter mice you can accelerate and decelerate the mouse cleanly and micro better, but would lose out on late game control without two handed control groups.

I tried the naga x for bit before moving back to the G600. The G600 is leaps and bounds better based on button placement/shape, onboard memory profiles, and not needing to download terrible Razer’s bloatware software. Logitech software isn’t all that great, but I’d rather install that temporarily while setting up the onboard profiles than ever again install something from Razer.

If you can still find one, the Razer Naga X. It's the wired budget version of the Razer Naga wireless that comes with switchable side panel. Mine is going strong for 4 years now. It replaced my old Razer Naga 2014. MMO mouse are niche now with very limited option. If you don't want to go with Razer. There's Logitech G600 but it's very old model with a weaker censor. The SteelSeries Aerox 9 which is a bit more reasonable in price. And the Corsair Scimitar which I don't like because unlike Razer and Logitech it doesn't have onboard memory and needs the Corsair program to be running. (Unless they changed that?) And it's also the heaviest MMO mouse I've tried. Redragon Perdition is a very budget friendly model. But I didn't like how cheap it felt. And I one I owned, the plastic had a very noxious smell. Plus the material was flaking everywhere.

The Razer Naga line is MASSIVELY under-appreciated. I'm on my third variant of the Naga. First was a red Naga Hex V1, second was a Hex V2, and current is a Naga X. All three still work, even the Hex V1, which I've had for around 14 years. Super comfortable, and really durable.

An MMO mouse with FPS mouse insides would be the best mouse on the market. I used a second gen naga from like 15-18 to play cs and then switched to regular fps mice (final mouse, so many g pros, viper pros). I still remember how comfortable I was on the nagas number pad for all of my key binds.

I don't know about EVGA X15, but I could share my experience as Razer user. I bought Razer Naga X because I know Logitech's rubber gonna be sticky in longterm like any Logitech ergonormic mouse I've bought but I regret that decision later. Razer Synapse software was and is still buggy (even the latest one), resource heavy, and need stable internet connection for profile switching between program to work correctly. My Naga X was bricked with power failure after years of casual use. Now I'm using back my Logitech G304 that I bought 1 year before that Razer Naga X, even my Logitech Pebble that I use more often than Naga X is still working as intended.

I first got an MMO mouse in the now discontinued logitech g600 - to this day it's the best mouse I've ever owned. About a year ago, it started acting up and I replaced it with a Logitech g502 Hero - not an MMO mouse, but it had 4 side buttons & a g-shift function, so functionally 8 side buttons. The 502 was a great mouse, but I did end up giving it to my cousin's boyfriend, 'cuz I bought an MMO mouse again after abiut a year (razer naga x, the g600 was discontinued and I felt like Razer might be the best option to replace logitech, which I ve been growing more & more discontent with over the years). I've now been using the naga x (secondhand) for about a month, and I'm honestly really pleased with it. The main downside about the 502, aside from lacking the 12(naga)/16 (g600) side buttons was I can't use the g-shift function to reassign the scroll wheel to volume up/down. The naga does let me do that, and just the ease of use of an mmo mouse after the initial like... week of getting used to it is just second to none. Tl;dr I definitely recommend using an MMO mouse if you want to get into PVM, or want to just get better at it. The side buttons are invaluable, but be sure to look for a mouse that comfortably fits your hand - the downside to the g600 was with my mouse grip I could only reach the first 2 rows of keys comfortably, while the naga is a much better fit & I can comfortably use all 12 side buttons without needing to adjust my hand *much*

I got the Corsair scimitar elite wireless. The hardware is good, but their software is literally a piece of steaming dog shit. It's completely broken for me, I can't uninstall it, it broke all the sound from my pc with a windows restoration being the only solution. Now I have to use the mouse as is, without any settings or macros. I much prefer the razer Naga X, if only it didn't have such a hump which forces my wrist to an uncomfortable position. Otherwise it has the best side panel I've tried, good software and good sensors. So I'm currently using the scimmy.

Currently using a Razer Naga X(very happy with it) in my gaming setup and a Deathadder V3 in my work setup(also relatively confortable, but not as much as the Naga). Unfortunately, it seems I'm getting older since my wrist gets tired easily and I'm having discomfort after some time working or gaming. So, I 'm thinking of getting an ergonomic or vertical mouse. I have to add here that I'm not gaming competitively nor do I usually play PVP games and FPS. I mostly play single-player stuff like BG3, or the occasional WoW. Games like CP2077 I prefer to play with controller. Additonally, I have relatively large hands, but more in the wider side(12cm wide - 18cm long). I am usually palming the mouse and occasionally using fingertip on the DAv3. I also don't mind the weight, so it's more of a non-factor for me. Some mice I've looked into: \- Roccat Kone XP - Nice contours but a bit smaller than I'd like \- Turtle Beach Kone II - I like the size but the right side of the mouse offers no support or grip for the ring and pinky fingers, making it a bit...odd... Also, the material seems cheaper that the Kone XP. \- Mionix Naos Pro - The shape looks uber-comfortable but I think it may be a 1-year purchase since the company is practically non-existent now, so if it breaks it goes to the garbage bin. For 40€ though, maybe it's worth it? \-CoolerMaster MM720 - The shape looks great but it's probably too small, right? No chance to test it upfront unfortunately. \- ASUS ROG Spatha - A BEAST of a mouse, haven't gripped it, looks...risky for its price point. And then, there are some vertical mice: \- Razer Pro Click V2 Vertical - Cannot test it beforehand and it's crazy expensive. Worth the risk...? \- Keychron M5 - Stock occasionally pops up but I read also mixed feelings on the buttons being too stiff and the shape not being the best. \- Logitech MX Master - Absolutely not suitable for any kind of competitive gaming - but maybe ok for single player? I like the shape and feel, but it's still expensive after all these years, with old hardware inside. Any other suggestions? Would a regular sculpted mouse help out or should I switch to a vertical one? Do I need to look for 1000+ polling rate to be able to do any kind of gaming?

I personally find MMO-mice fine to click accurately. That said tho, the problem sounds more like your sitting position is super wrong or you go from "not gaming at all" to "gaming a lot suddenly". I've been playing mostly mmorpgs 16h+ per day for over 15 years without any issues/strains/pains. Eitherway if you are set on trying an MMO-mouse again, they are all kind of unique, so while G600 might not be to ur liking, the others might be. Since you alrdy have a G600 i'm not gonna say anything about it. Would advice staying away from Corsair scimitar - Corsair software is inferior to every other, it is also on the smaller side, but that might be a pro for some. Razer naga newest version is prolly among the better ones, but buttons are very easy to click and are in general smaller than the other mice, so it might be a bad fit to begin with if you are having a hard time navigating buttons. It has by far the best software tho. Roccat Kone XP Air - My curreny mouse, swapped from naga to this partly because i dropped my naga making the scrollwheel stop working. It is kind of a middle ground between an MMO mouse & a normal one, with only 4 side buttons (1 space button for your thumb which can also be used as an combination key) aswell as 2 extra buttons by your index finger, still giving you 7+ extra keys at your mouse. Software works decently, but nothing amazing. Corsair Ironclaw - is another one which has more buttons than usual but still not 12 button layout - played it for about 6months but the buttons feel kinda mushy & bad, combined with corsair software i can't reccomend.

1) Razer naga wired, Corsair scimitar, Red dragon mmo mouse 2) Used to do 1234 and mouse click everything past 4 and as a result I got good mouse accuracy and could even do mouse only if needed. Got a naga and everything became a whole lot easier to hit. Alot less mouse movements for sure. I've used both the naga and scimitar for years until the buttons wore out. Currently using a red dragon mmo mouse and the side buttons are stiffer than the naga or scimitar but it gets the job done. Not really required if you keybind around wasd but its convenient for top number key layout. 3) Overall its more of a convenience than making me a better player if anything.

Steelseries Aerox 9 or Razer Naga NON wireless (way way too heavy of a brick) + Razer Tartarus V2 NON Pro keypad (pro has terrible switches and costs twice as much). movement on the Tartarus joystick, spells on Tartarus buttons and utilities on the mouse 24 buttons ready for rapid trigger + at least 2 other layers with shift and control 72 buttons super easy to use, never ever again forget a key combo, never ever again have wrists pain from the stress during combat. woth this layout I am totally free to think only on the fights, mechanics and be totally relaxed and concentrated I use this combo for almost 10 years now, not going back again

And there's a lot of mobility in GW2, especially in pvp. Before adapting my gamepad, I used a Razor Naga mmo mouse with 12 extra buttons for my skills.

The Scimitar isn't exactly uncomfortable but the texture was odd after the smoothness of the naga. The naga is better for smaller hands imo. The naga is lighter which I prefer, but some people like a weightier mouse. My Scimitar got an occasional weird double click issue after about 8 months and the software profiling is a little finicky and can sometimes get wiped randomly after 'upgrades'. But mine was decent enough. I didn't hate it, I just preferred the naga so I went back to it.

The $20 Redragon off Amazon is perfect for me. This thing has lasted me for 5 years now, with no problems at all. I used the $100+ Razer Naga for a few years, but the left click stopped working. I bought the Redragon to get me through a few months to get another Razer, but since it's larger it fits my hand better - and it turned out to be way more durable. It can be a little intimidating when you first start using a 16 button mouse, but now I can't ever go back to having any less for MMOs.

My razer naga's left click got stuck after like 2 years of use, so I bought a $20 Amazon knockoff to get me through until I could afford another. Razer Naga is a great mouse and the only reason I still play MMO’s because the thumb buttons were the answer to having too many things on the keyboard to manage which was a big problem for me starting out.  I’ve been using Nagas for about 10 years and I’m on my 4th one.  * Got a regular naga and wore it out after 3 years  * replaced it with the just released Naga Trinity which I returned in 2 weeks because of driver bugs and the wheel feel was off.  * got another regular naga which lasted another 3 years before I broke it trying to clean the buttons  * got a naga trinity and thankfully all the things I had issues with the first one’s design were fixed. I’ve had that for 3 years at least There is a learning curve:  about a month to get used to the thumb buttons and always know “instinctively” where my thumb was without looking. I still made mistakes in pressure moments like PvP for the first year. I would say my reaction speed and accuracy now is better than a keyboard user.  I don’t use wireless keyboards or mice. There’s no benefit for me and just downside in another thing that can break and batteries that run out of juice at the wrong time. I have no idea about Razer’s reliability in that area.

I've been playing MMOs on mouse/keyboard since the Burning Crusade days. Nothing will ever beat the QoL and customization of getting an MMO mouse (either Razer Naga or Redragon like others have suggested here) and mapping buttons to the numpad. For GW2, I use a Naga with a total of 14 programmable keys, but only program 12 of them for gameplay. I kept 1-4 on my weapon bar as is since they're close to my left hand fingers anyway. I bound 5 to C since it's a shorter move than pressing 5. For my heal, I use G, then my utilities I use Num7, Num8, and Num9, which are bound to their respective keys on the Naga. For my elite, I use Z since it's a really short hop for my pinky finger. For my profession skills, I use Num1-Num5 (not every class will have a Num5 bind, depending on elite spec). For Special Action Key, I use Num12. Lastly, I bound dodge to Num6 to make thst easier to control. For mounts, I have them all bound to function keys, but I don't press the keys themselves. Instead, I use a Radial Menu add-on from BlishHUD that lets me use a universal keyboard to bring up a circle menu, and then I drag my mouse to select the mount I want to use. Hope this helps you and others out, MMO control schemes can be quite daunting to get used to!

I've used a LOT of different mice for wow. Logitech g600 was great, but it's discontinued. Unless you wanna pay 400 for one, then you'll need something else. Razer Naga MMO mouse with 12 buttons was also very good. But also discontinued. I finally settled on the razer v2 hyperspeed. It's identical to their old 12 button MMO mouse except that it's wireless. I'm the kind of person who likes everything wired, but honestly after a while I was sold. Excellent response time, battery life, etc. And I pvp mostly. Some like corsair, etc. But i personally found them sometimes large and clunky. Personal taste. If you don't mind changing batteries once in a while the razer v2 hyper is great.

your best bet is to go to a local electronics store like Best Buy if you can. if you're lucky they will have display mice out you can try out. the only real recommendation is to get an "mmo mouse", that is, a mouse with 12 buttons on the side. other than that the best one to get is the one that feels best in your hand. everyone has their own experiences with durability. I know many hate on the naga for not being durable, but I've used the naga for 13 years now and am on my 3rd, granted I can also be a bit rough with them. I use them entirely because they feel extremely good in my hand, whereas the competitors like the corsair and logitech just don't feel right.

Switched to the scimitar this year and I love it! I had similar issues with the razer naga and needing new ones so often. The only issue I’ve had with scimitar is opening ique it like stalls the mouse and none of the side buttons work for a few seconds. It’s annoying but not a huge deal and I just don’t mess with the software anymore since i have it all set up now. I’ve used a Corsair keyboard and headset since 2018 that I love so decided to have the whole family and it’s great

There's not that many that exist, your options for ones you can reasonably find are: * Razer naga * Corsair scimitar * Steelseries aerox 9 * Red dragon m908 All of these are mediocre mice with large QC issues and whether or not you get one that lasts 5 months or 5 years is complete RNG. You're going to have a bunch of people pop up and say things like "I've used the X for Y years and its the best!" and its some bullshit, they won the lottery that their mouse didn't arrive defective or shit the bed after some short amount of time. There used to be the logitech g600 which was both cheaper than 3 of those 4 mice while also being just as good if not better quality... not by much though... but they discontinued it. You can find them used but they're mostly overpriced and yknow.. used mice are pretty gross. They all have minor differences, pick whichever one suits you at whatever price point you're ok with paying every year or two and pull the trigger. The razer and steelseries are the most overpriced, the scimitar isn't as bad price wise, the red dragon can be bought right now on sale for 22$ and is normally like 32$. Red dragons a budget brand though so don't expect the world.

There's really only 4 from well known brands at this point, all of which are overpriced for what they are and have pretty terrible QC. * Corsair scimitar: This things known for having issues with the plastic that actuates the left right click being too soft so it ends up indenting and then stops working. Scroll wheel also has tons of issues. * Razer naga: Razer is infamous for their horrible QC / quality at this point while often being the most expensive due to riding the name the company made for itself back when it was decent. * Steelseries aerox 9: This ones the only one that is designed to be light weight but its overpriced, the side buttons are crap and often have issues along with the scroll wheel. * Red dragon I forget the number: Its a red dragon so yknow, you get what you pay for, but at least its cheap! Another option is getting the "logicool g600" which is the japanese (iirc) version of the logitech g600 which is no longer sold in the west... but this would probably be a bad option for you as its probably the chunkiest and heaviest of the bunch. The rest are all similarly sized and shaped and none meet all your criteria. The smallest / lightest is the aerox 9 but its also one of the most expensive only beat by razer. Red dragons the cheapest followed by corsair.

Had similar issues when my hand came off. What works best for me is Razer Naga combined with XAC and some Logitech switches and Zik-Zak joystick. I operate that joystick with my residual limb to control the WASD movement. Obviously for you that would be different. Maybe some sort of foot controls? I don't think there's much left when it comes to dedicated foot devices, so maybe utilising XAC with your WASD setup? Other commonly recommended options might be evil controllers for one handed use or azeron cyro. Try to experiment as much as you can. It's a long and rocky road, but eventually you should be able to find a setup that works for you.

I've used the Razer Naga since 2014. Once you train yourself to find all the side buttons without looking, it's pretty great. I've used it across MMO's, shooters... it even comes in handy for excel spreadsheets and stuff. I had something like the Tatarus back in the day (I think it was the orbweaver), and I did like it, but it wasn't a game changer. It crapped out after a few years, and I never bothered replacing it. So my vote is gaming mouse for sure, if you're only getting one.

No squeak scroll wheel, no doubleclick mouse buttons, no randomly moving mouse even though its not being touched. Idk why their cheap stuff seem to be made better than their expensive stuff. Got a Huntsman v2 last year and already died for example. I wanna like razer but their peripherals dont last and with the new synapse their laptops are a pita to use. It takes forever to load and sometimes have to reboot.

I used Razer Naga from 2013-2018 and for some reason all three I bought over that time had the same issues with the sensor so the mouse would get “stuck” on the middle of the screen. I tried any fix I found and could think of, cleaned the sensor, new mousepad even tried it on a other surface - nothing changed. 2 of my friends had similar issues although they just throw money at a new mouse every couple of years when the problem starts again. I decided to buy a Corsair Scimitar and I’ve used that for the last 6-7 years without issues. So my recommendation goes to the Corsair Scimitar.

I went through two WoW Cata mice and then frankensteined them together to get a few extra years out of them. Still have my WotLK mouse somewhere. Switched to a Naga when it died, and then a Logitech g600 after two Naga died. Recently I bought one of the Steelseries Aerox 9 WoW editions and I like it much more than the other 12 button grid mice. The brick of buttons has a skew to it that means they’re not all just perfectly in a line, which actually makes a surprising difference for me more than I expected.

I used to use Razer Nagas, but would have to replace them yearly because the middle mouse button would go out or it'd start doubleclicking and I couldn't fix it. I reconcile that I need a mouse with only 2 buttons to play FPS and ARPGs comfortably, which is why I got the Naga with the different attachments. I've heard so many people swear by MMO mice but I can't seem to get past the fact that I apparently like to put some pressure on the side of the mouse with my thumb when I'm gaming, so trying to hover my thumb over 12 buttons and NOT press down at all is causing some strain. On top of that I definitely get annoyed using any abilities that require aim on the mouse itself because I tend to just feel less accurate. Any suggestions? How long have you been trying to use the naga? If you are changing your grip position for this mouse it will take time to adjust. Also consider using one of the other attachments so that your thumb can maybe rest more comfortably and get more acclimated to gripping the mouse. Unfortunately most mmo mice are going to have similar shape/grip and buttons interfering with the thumb

I would very highly recommend NOT using a razor naga (like some comments, say) from personal experience. The mouse hardware is good, but the software is terrible. Throughout many years, I tried two of these, and I constantly had battles with Windows updates breaking the mouse settings, the software breaking itself, incompatibility issues with games, etc. Some of my computers run different OS's too and that added far more fristration to just use a mouse than it was worth. It ended up being a nightmare. I tossed the razor profucts and never went back. My first gaming mouse ever was actually a world of warcraft gaming mouse. It was awesome but broke after a couple years and the paint started to peel off... Most recently, I bought a super cheap one (Redragon gaming mouse). I have had it for a few years with zero issues. It was super cheap too so I am surprisingly pleased. It supposrts different profiles, the nice array of side buttons, comfortable, works across os', etc. This is the redragon one: Limited-time deal: Redragon M908 Impact RGB LED MMO Gaming Mouse with 12 Side Buttons, Optical Wired Ergonomic Mouse with Max 12,400DPI, High Precision, 18 Programmable Macro Shortcuts, Comfort Grip https://a.co/d/8Lyph0C

the sad truth is that no quality MMO mouse exists anymore. Nagas fail quickly, but have the best feel when they wirk. Corsair one quickly gets issues with the mouse wheel. Neither have the full featureset that the G600 had - which has been discontinued for years. And then there's Reddragon and other cheap brands making cheap plastic imitations.

I have found it's easy to move my middle finger from W to Q or E for flasks while left thumb can easily press any skills. It's bit annoying but the first skill is permanently keybound to left mouse click - I haven't found a way to change this. I leave this empty. I have to say I have many years of experience of using left thumb on Naga mouse for skills. For players new to MMO mouse it might take bit of while to get comfortable to get muscle memory to instantly use left thumb for skills.

I used Razer naga mice for about 15 years now I think. Went through about 3 and now this one is showing signs of weakness. I often hear bad things about razer products but the mmo mice never disappointed me. Sure it could live longer than 5 years but I really do use them for 2-12 hours every single day so I think thats alright. Now I'm looking for a new one and I'm kinda stumped to find out you can't even buy any 12 key sidepad razer mouse with wires anymore. I simply can't and don't want to go back to normal mice and wireless is trash. I need my 12 side buttons as I use it in every game I play.

This has been my experience with Razer, Logitech, and Steelseries. With many reports of current-production HyperX mice and Corsair mice being the same (and old-production Redragon mice, the new Redragon mice however look like they're built to last however). The obscure boutique brands all make mice that are immortal (and ASUS, ASUS makes extremely durable mice, they also recently fixed their software and their newest mice are compatible with browser-based software, which finally removes the one and only downside to ASUS products, actually strongly recommend ASUS peripherals they're quite good). However of course boutique brands are usually a bit more expensive, hard to attain, and usually focus purely on ergonomics so they rarely have more than 2 extra buttons. The Glorious Model i 2. (Old stock) Roccat mice have tons of multi/button models. Swift-point makes the Z and the Tracer (more buttons than your Naga, but they're in completely different locations). Keychron makes the M7 and M5 (the M6 has a sleepy sensor and can't really be used for gaming unfortunately). And Dareu makes the A980. However if MMO mice are what you need, then you're either buying a new Naga every 2 years, or a new Aerox 9 every 2 years. Hopefully we get a nice new boutique-quality MMO mouse soon but I'm not holding my breath (and am babying my Aerox 9 to make it last as long as possible).

The Naga is way too tiny of a mouse. You'll have the same issue. G502 has a decent amount of hand space. I got long ass fingers and I've found the Corsair Harpoon to be the most comfortable mouse. I ended up buying 5 of em a few years back so I'd have a stockpile if they ever stopped making em.

I've bought the trinity and the Pro. Then I bought the Mac Daddy version of the g502, which i think I've used... twice? I still use the 6 button layout from my trinity, it's great for shit like Tarkov and Warframe. Only thing I wish it had is the only reason I bought the G502, the unlockable scroll wheel. For whatever reason the Naga's are way more comfortable for me than any other mice I've tried with as close of a match of function I've found. Would love to have a backup mouse as it's Razer and they will eventually kill the line just bc, but that seems like a pipe dream

I bought a Razer Naga when it got kinda clear to me that I wanna try Savage content and so on. When I played WoW I didn't have a MMO mouse and it gave me some struggle to switch between key combinations Alt+button and shift+button. If you feel like you could be faster or less stressed using a MMO mouse instead of only keyboard combinations, then try it. I started slowly with the mouse and just learned to use one key at a time. Like my shield skill is always on the same button, life leech is always the same button, true North is always the same button, etc. And I almost only have supportive skills on the mouse buttons so my other hand can focus on the rotations of the job skills. But that's just personal style.

I've had nothing but problems with both Naga and Schimitar tbh. Both brick the exact same way - the left mouse button becomes unusable. I've had 5 of them (3 nagas, 2 schimitars) and I'm really burned out on them. Not to mention that the Schimitar is awful for people with larger hands - the bottom column I pretty much have to lift the mouse to reliably click the buttons. --- Right now I'm genuenly stuck, as I don't know if there are any MMO mice that don't break like that.

I've had 2 Scimitars and 3 Nagas, and honestly pretty disappointing experiences. Both models break withing a year (left click specifically). And the Scimitar specifically is terrible for people with larger hands - you have to literally lift the mouse to use the bottom column of buttons (the 1/4 especially).

Been using Naga since 2014. Cannot even fathom to switch to any other mouse. All my hero inventory items are binded to mouse buttons. I use all 12-side buttons. I am on my 4th mouse because the previous 3 broke or stopped working. Its an amazing mouse but I have to warn you, its a bit on the heavy side but if you dont mind that then go for it. Its ergonomically good for my palm as I have medium to big hands so it fits perfectly and feels comfortable. Note- I am also an avid WoW enjoyer so its a double benefit for me. Ask me any questions if u have any.

Same here! I don't understand all of the complaints about the Naga. It's much more manageable than the G600 (that thing is unwieldy as fuck lol) and I've literally never had a single issue with one of them. I've had a total of three over the past 12 plus years, the only reason I ever get a new one is because they get... dirty. People must be SQUEEZING those buttons or breaking them or something. I play GW2 PVP and raids and stuff, high APM, and have never had a single issue of misclicking, double clicking, etc.

Personally, I love MMO mice and have used them exclusively for 13 years now. Like other people have said in the thread, it will most definitely take some getting used to, but at a certain point it will click and just be completely second nature. I find having the ability to split up types of binds between the mouse and the keyboard is really helpful for me, especially with things like 4taa. One small thing to note though, most of the time MMO mice are heavier than standard mice, and if you currently use a light mouse it may be very noticeable. However I have seen a few lightweight MMO mouse models. As for mouse recommendations, I'm currently using a Redragon M901 wireless, was skeptical before I got it as I hadn't heard of the brand, but my friend swore by it and I'm honestly loving it so far (been almost 2 years now). The other models I've used were Razer Naga (not terrible, just wasn't huge on the shape/feel), and 2 different Corsair Scimitars (on both of them the left click actuator broke, maybe user error, maybe build quality issue, idk).

After losing mobility in my left arm, I needed a gaming mouse that could handle everything with one hand. I tried a few options, but most weren’t practical for fast-paced games. Then I found one that finally worked. The Razer Naga has customizable buttons, an ergonomic design, and solid build quality. It’s made a huge difference in how I play. I can map key functions to the mouse and stay competitive without needing a keyboard. Setup was straightforward, and it’s compatible with most games I’ve tested.

So I had a regular mouse in 2019 and I was okay at pvm. Key binds are great, but I found it difficult to manage both prayers, movement, and abilities simulateously in any boss that wasn't considered to be an easy boss. Flash forward to 2021, I got a Razer Naga (comparable to the Logitech G600), I started to have weapon switches and prayers on my thumb buttons for the mouse. I was able to manage abiltiies with my left and movement/prayers with my right. I am now able to do all bosses and feel adept at bossing. Is it necessary? No. Would I recommend it to anyone who asks? Yes.

Steelseries Aerox 9. 12 side buttons, and unlike basically every other mouse made for MMO games, it does not feel like a brick weight wise, so if you have long gaming sessions, your wrist will thank you. It's like 89g compared to the Logitech G600, which is a common recommendation that is 133g. Or the Razer Naga that is 122g and Corsair Scimitar, which is also about 122g. I've used all of them and the weight savings on the Aerox helped me no longer get any kind of wrist discomfort after days of longer gaming sessions.

I have a Razer Naga. The question is, how many hotkeys do you need - which depends on the game. I use easy reachable modifier keys to multiply my mouse bindings (depending on your hand: shift, ctrl, alt). My requirements for the mouse: "enough" thumb buttons and a mouse wheel which can be switched right and left. My Bindings are: Mouse-Wheel left: previous target Mouse-Wheel right: next target Shift+Mouse-Wheel left: nearest target ... you get the idea ... Thumb-Button 1-x Alt + Thumb-Button 1-x Shift + Thumb-Button 1-x Shift+Alt + Thumb-Button 1-x you get the idea

I bought a razer naga mouse with 12 prpgramable buttons on the side. Was able to swap those over to [f] keys and [esc] [1] [space] and all other tabs i would need when bossing. As long as your not setting up macros. Its not against tos to use mouse keys remapped to keyboard functions. I can play most of osrs with just my mouse.

I have a naga and love it, i dont buy into all the razer hate that you will see on reddit. But.....a few things, first is that its overpriced for what it is. Second is that the usb connection has this slant in it so its incompatible with most usb cords. You can buy a replacement razer usb cord, again overpriced, or a knock off on Amazon....but its kinda shitty to make a mouse that uses a usb connection but you can only get use razer's cord

That's really easy get the Naga. Its actually the best mouse on this planet doesn't matter what you play or do at your PC. If you like multitasking and want to have many programmable keys then go for the Naga. Wanna use it with a tkl and still have numbersblock sure why not?! Wanna play MMO and other stuff like that hell yeah. You want some extra buttons for script while you do Office stuff? Fucking yes. I use the different naga since over 15 years and not a single one failed to me. I will never buy any other live i believe.

As an owner of a razer naga, a corsair scimitar and a logitech g600, the old g600 its just superior in almost every single aspect... its more comfortable, clicks and buttons feel nice, firm and soft, not just cheap, software is good, weight is excelent, and secondary click only started dying after 10 years of playing wow almost every day for 2-14hours a day (I move the camera with secondary click pressed all the time, and I was a mythic raider and a m+ andy if it serves any purpose). \-The naga was too little for my hands, meh in quality. (Sold this one) \-The scimitar is relatively good, but I hate ICUE with my life, bad UI/UX and just too much CPU usage (currently i use this when I come back to wow for 1 week a year) \-Still have the g600, and if I ever come back to wow in a "serious" way, ill buy the new version 100%. PD: I have big hands, and use claw grip PD2: idk about the new version og g600, it seems better than the old one. Edit: G502 is a decent option for mmo too, but its layout is weird to me for a mmo, I also have this, and I liked it a lot for fps games, maybe if you use at least 1 or 2 modifiers (ctrl, shift, alt) you could still use this.

No worries that explain a lot. I'd just practice on aiming then and movements with keyboard. Stick to basics then go to macros etc. If you don't get much better on M+K or feel like you're just better on controller, maybe it isn't for you. Lots of players do well on controller, even pros. If any case you need a mouse with more buttons there are some out there but those are usually an old design like the Logitech G503, Naga or other MMO/all in one mice. They won't be the best for aiming compared to modern mice these days but yeah something to note. Personally I'd just try and get better with what you have but there's no harm in testing out other mice, I guess. Good luck and happy gaming.

Naga is too many small buttons for my fat greasy fingers. This should probably follow the thread already about it, but Logitech G600 series. 6 buttons is more than enough when you throw in shift/alt/ctrl modifiers. Death Grip on the button, shift+button grips mouse over, alt+button grips focus target. One macro, one button, dynamic application of your skills.

What kind of casual user are you? I have never had the buttons on a razer mouse last longer than a year. I have gone through Nagas specifically about every six months because they start dropping holds or multi-clicking at six months almost like clockwork. I think this current one I have may be the longest lasting one in the last decade but even it is only like eight months old and I have cut back A LOT on how much and how competitively I play.

i use one of those ergonomic vertical grip mice for workload, and have my gaming mouse on it's dock right next to it. for a bit i had a naga that i had bound to macros, but realistically i think the biggest productivity / ergonomic boost you can get is with an ergo-mouse. first off, 8k polling rate is more of a gimmick than anything else, and what you need in a high-speed high-end gaming mouse is completely different from anything considered productivity. consider keyboards, where a top of the line HE 60% wooting with clicky switches would be next to useless in a heavy workload setting, but my huge ergonomic logitech with an entire row of function keys and switches and doodads would not be at all useful in a competitive game setting. i think once you actually start going for high end peripherals, the use-case defines the product. just like you wouldn't wear a dress watch when going scuba-diving and you wouldn't wear your gshock to a wedding.

Been a Naga user since 2011 and I'm not sure I could play _other_ games either. Most games need you to hit the number keys or at least move your movement hand away from wasd. FPS as an example; Once you spend time binding keys you no longer have to stop moving to swap weapons, reload, throw grenades, use abilities etc.

I have fairly large hands and even the naga was kind of shallow. I had a Logitec G600 or whatever the mmo mouse is and i hated it (software bugs) so I threw it out. I bought a Redragon Impact M908 and the arch still isn't big enough, but the ends of my fingers are still about the same as your 2nd picture. The tips of my fingers go to about the end of the button so the pads of my fingers are still on the mouse itself. But it has a ring finger ledge (no button) so it makes it wider. Plus it's $31 CAD right now :) [https://www.amazon.ca/Redragon-M908-Precision-Programmable-Buttons/dp/B07FK9PKSM/?th=1](https://www.amazon.ca/Redragon-M908-Precision-Programmable-Buttons/dp/B07FK9PKSM/?th=1) Even if it lasts 3 years, I can replace it 3 times and still be under the cost of a Razer Naga. The software is kind of crap, but so is Razer's to be honest. Never really liked it. Synapse had massive issues for me on my first Naga, and my last one the mouse just died after 6 years. Double click issues on the left button. I tried to fix it and it didn't work so... Redragon it is.

I have a Razer Naga. There are newer version out now but they are a little pricey. Corsair Scimitar is also pretty good. I wish Logitech still mage the G600. Having th extra side buttons for an MMO mouse really does help. I play Ret and have most my attacks on my keyboard but my stuns, interrupts, defensives etc are all on my mouse. Those are for buttons I need to hit quickly but not necessarily spam like the attacks. I used to do it the other way but my hand would get cramps and have pain. I don't get that now.

I also use the Naga because they discontinued every Logitech one that I loved. I have 3 rows of actions, and I use all of the buttons on the mouse for row 1, and then modifier buttons + the mouse buttons for each successive row. I could never use the keyboard number buttons. I have pretty small hands even for a woman and I even use a special smaller keyboard with full buttons. Without the Naga or similar mmo mouse I straight up could not play this game or many PC games. I should also point out that I use the mouse wheel click as if it was another button.

As a leftie I can recommend the Razer Naga too. Doesn't help that most MMO mouses (or mouses in general really when not ambidextrous) are made with right-handed people in mind, so the choice is pretty limited lol.

The caveat with Razer is that rebinding mouse buttons does not work in Linux. While the defaults work for me (I have a deathadder and a naga, and the side buttons on both are mapped to number keys), someone with a more specialized use case will need access to Windows to set up the mouse. OpenRazer only allows you to adjust the lighting and sensitivity IIRC.

I’ve used a naga, aerox 9, and schimitar. It’s a toss up between the naga and aerox for me. I think I like the ergonomics of the aerox a little better and I find the larger buttons easier to navigate. I didn’t like the schimitar and it broke within 6 months. I also thought the software was the most cumbersome. All of the MMO mice I’ve tried have terrible scroll wheel sensors that don’t last me more than a year or 2. Even the naga and aerox… thankfully I was able to get replacements for both under warranty.

wish the lefty version they did had the radial button layout! I find with the Naga I have trouble finding specific buttons when games get busy, so I end up mapping all of them to one thing, or rather un-mapping most of them and then just mashing my thumb into the cluster to hit the one enabled one in the middle.

1. Yes, I have used Razer Naga and now the Corsair one 2. They are worth it if your main PC gaming is MMO related. Being able to use your full hotbar (three or four of them even with shift / ctrl / alt modifiers) without moving your hand makes gaming more comfortable and also means you will actually use what would have been the harder to reach utility abilities if you were using keyboard 3. Maybe? But for me the difference in hand / wrist strain is worth it all by itself. When I'm playing busy classes it probably does make me better though since if I need to change what ability I'm about to use on the fly it is a much smaller movement

I liked Nagas, but they always broke too quick for me. Went through 2 that lasted almost exactly 1.5 years each. I switched to the Logitech G600, bought 2 off Amazon for maybe the price of one Naga back in 2017. I'm still using the second one. Unfortunately it looks like the Logitech side pad mouses are pretty much retired, and any stock still around is going for higher prices. I see some Redragon versions for super cheap, like $30. For that price that would be what I tried next.

I've been using the Razer Naga trinity, and before that the Naga pro and before that the Naga. With 12 buttons you can bind you can fill one bar and control everything from your mouse. Up that to 2 bars using shift+12 buttons. In games like guild wars 2 you can use shift+1, 2, 3 etc to swap bars and use 1-12 to use abilities. It's been so much easier than reaching up to hit a key.

Hey, Ever since I started using an MMO mouse years and years ago, I have never been able to go back to a regular mouse. Only for when i play FPS. I used to have a Razer Naga then a Logitech G600 and now a Steelseries Aerox 9. My problem is that I spilled coffee on my first Aerox 9, and the scroll wheel stopped working, so I bought a used one from a friend who had barely used it. That was a few months ago and now it's not properly registering my 3 and 4 button + the scroll wheel sometimes goes up when im scrolling down. I really like the way the mouse feels, but I cba buying another one if it's just gonna stop working properly again (I read multiple threads on these problems, they seem very common). So I'm wondering what your favourite MMO mouse is, preferably something not too expensive. My only requirements are that it has to have between 9-12 buttons on the side and it has to be durable.

hi there! I've got nerve damage in my fingers that actually make long term keyboarding a little difficult, so I use an mmo mouse full-time and have since the Razer Naga in 09. I use a Corsair Scimitar and love it -- the numpad is adjustable a bit so you can position it to fit your hand better. You really have to re-train your hands but you can pull some really interesting keybinds off with it! it just takes some practice, like playing a fighting game on a joystick. it'll come to you!

I had the Razer Naga with 12 side buttons for many years. It was great until eventually it wasn’t possible to fix the double click anymore. For a couple of years after I had a cheap copy of it, which was okay but not quite as good. It did the job. Currently I’m using a G502 X, because I don’t play much and it was half the price of a Naga Pro. It’s a great mouse, but I do still miss the 12 side buttons and how simple it was to use.

I used to use a Razer Naga mouse for years, which you can re-map a lot of buttons to. But I like to use Shift as my Dodge button *(weird, I know).* And the more I got into Roaming/PvP, the more I found myself accidentally linking my skills in chat that would inevitably get me killed. So I swapped to a Razer Deathadder V2 and rebound a bunch of skills to whatever felt the most comfortable. 1-5 for Weapon Skills. R,E,TAB,C,X for Heal, Utilities & Elite *(TAB is my 'Oh Shit' button, which is always a Stunbreak)* Q,T,F,F1,F2 for Profession Skills *(These are in order of most important/desirable depending on Class/Spec)* Caps for Weapon Swap, Shift for Dodge, Z for Look-Back *(I don't use About Face)* \` for Mount, Mouse Button 4 for Tab-Target, Mouse Button 5 for Stow Weapon, Middle-Mouse to Auto-run

Me personally is staying away from razer since most products I owned and tested has been bad, with mouses having bad sensors that are moving on their own and no firmware or factory reset has been working, keyboards that keys stopped working or extra clicking etc, the only thing that actually works but I kinda ”hate" today so their naga mouse, had the original and the chroma both been working as they supposed to but today a little older the passform of the naga doesn't suit me any more so since I'm a more of an MMO player I would like the extra buttons so I been eyeing the Steel series aerox 9 that has more of a claw grip style of a mouse but still has the 12 extra thumb buttons, I can't talk much about wireless headsets though just what I read around that their quality checks hasn't been the best and also where my personal bias comes into play that for any "serious" gaming wireless is not good even though wireless most likely has come a long way there will always be a latency delay vs wired, End of they day if you have like a tech warehouse that you could test these would be the best so you can try and see if they are something for you as sound is very personal, and what is your budget If trying to find alternatives for you?

People hate on the Naga for whatever reason, but I love mine. I've used it pretty heavily for about 4 years without any issues. I bought a Corsair Scimitar as a backup and it also works really well. Both offer basically the same package; 12 side buttons and the normal mouse stuff. The Razor and Corsair software are pretty similar too. Only real difference is the Naga feels a little longer and more flat in the hand vs the scimitar being a bit more tall and round.

I've tried a bunch of cheap MMO mice from Amazon, but I always end up returning them and going back to a Razer Naga as the side buttons give the best feedback. The only problem is the scroll wheel always breaks after about 6 months and becomes useless. My 5th Naga just broke with exactly the same problem, and I'm very reluctant to buy another. Out of the other premium brands, which MMO mice have a similar feel with good quality side buttons? I'm willing to try anything else at this point, I just hope the scroll wheel lasts longer than 6 months. Update: I'm getting a Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed, it has a completely different scroll wheel to all the previous Naga's I've used, and it won't break the bank like a Pro V2. I really hope this scroll wheel is more robust, but only time will tell. Thanks for all the input everyone, very much appreciated. Update 2: I just tried the advice /u/ShadoGear gave, and it only bloody worked!! https://www.reddit.com/r/MMORPG/s/x1prWOuidP The scroll wheel is working perfectly again, dust must have gotten into the sensor! Well I've had this Naga for 2 years now and I'm pretty heavy handed. The MMB still works fine, and the scrolling issue ending up being dust stuck in the scroll sensor and is fixed now. The MMB went on a couple of them but that was years ago and I can't remember the exact circumstances. I think it was on the special edition SWTOR Naga's, so it could have just been an issue with that particular model. I honestly wouldn't worry about it, as long as you're not pressing too hard it should last you many years.

That's good to know thanks, I found a couple of posts about the issue too, and it does look a bit flimsy in the pictures as there's no front support. Not sure it would last very long in my hands either. I think I'm just going to have to get another Naga but make sure to use the warranty if it breaks again, rather than suffer in silence!

Well it happened to my original Naga, then it happened to my special edition SWTOR Naga, so I got a second hand SWTOR Naga off eBay and it happened to that one. And I'm now on my second wired Naga after that. I try to live with it as long as possible before getting a new one, it also depends on the game I'm playing at the time. Yeah I've been trying hard to stay calm and not press so hard, and the better I get the easier it becomes. But I still do it sometimes when things get really intense. My friends used to joke in school that I had retard strength as I wasn't a big guy and didn't train, but could beat anyone in an arm wrestle, so it probably is me if it's not a common issue. I can't be that unlucky lol Come to think of it my work mice used to break after a while too, I'm really going to have to focus harder on not clicking so hard on the scroll wheel from now on 😅

Top 3 MMO mice I've owned: * Corsair Scimitar * Logitech G600 (discontinued, but closest in shape is UtechSmart Venus and Redragon MMO series) * Razer Naga It comes down to comfort at the end of the day for those long MMO gaming sessions, so I would suggest going in-store and trying out the shapes. Both Scimitar and Naga have wireless variants. Scimitar's side buttons are mushier and have some movement, but this actually helps me lift the mouse without misclicking the side buttons. You can also move the side button panel on the Scimitar to match your hand size and comfort (its biggest selling point). Naga's side buttons feel the best - very snappy, but its shape causes me to misclick at times. If you want to play FPS games with your MMO mouse, I would buy the Scimitar as they release each iteration with the best sensor in the market for that given point in time. Naga's sensor is ok; my Naga Pro jitters when fast swiping/flicks. G600 has the oldest sensor (and is laser).

I had a razer Naga for about 4 years and it was good, razer software felt nice enough to use but the mouse itself was a little on the smaller side especially the buttons. I've had a Corsair scimitar for maybe 6 years now and I love it. Icue software can be great or shit depending on the update but on the whole it's good. Feels really nice to use and can't see myself changing to anything else anytime soon

It's comfortable and bigger than most mice, just a forewarning though, if you do use one of the small buttons a metric crap load they do tend to wear out a little faster than one with fewer buttons. WoW is a mouse killer :D

In my 20 years of wow I've owned 2 razor Nagas. The first didn't even break, I only bought a new one because the old one was starting to look grubby from so much use. I often see people saying razor is shit and that there stuff always "breaks", it's a strange coincidence but these are also the same people who refuse to install/update software and the razor mice really need the software installed to feel good.

I use a Naga, and i have rotational buttons on keyboard and Naga - I don’t look to replace my keyboard, just offload a bit. Naga button keybinds: (depends on classes, but I’ll do Evoker/Warrior) 1: Hover / Charge 2: Flying mount 3: Zephyr / Victory Rush 4: Assist ping 5: Dragonrage / Ignore Pain 6: Trinket 1 / AoE Taunt 7: Nothing / Rallying Cry 8: Trinket 2 / Spell Reflect 9: Unravel / Berserker Rage 10: Oppressing Roar / Heroic Throw 11: Extra Action Button 12: Brutosaur It's a GODSENT for Prot warrior; because 90% of the time, my finger is just spamming Ignore Pain on the mouse, and I don't even think about it - Leaving my keyboard hand to actually do the rotational things.

A 12 button MMO mouse like the Razer Naga is an absolute game changer. There is a bit of a learning curve to it. Also not all MMO mice are sized the same, so I use the Naga because it fits my hand even though there are other cheaper and just as good 12 button options other people can use. Having any amount of extra buttons, even 6 or 9 buttons, is a huge benefit. I'm not sure if "better player" is the moniker. Morely, it reduces difficulty in performing class actions. So like, doing rotations will be much easier, but still gotta learn them. Also some classes benefit more from MMO mice than others. PLD and SCH really want extra buttons while SMN and VPR don't care as much. So that's another thing to keep in mind.

Works great. Used it for 6+ years. Ignore all the "buttons are too small". It isn't that bad. I rested my thumb in the middle of 4,5,7,8. Use those as my "AWDS" home. Took some getting used to but after I got used to it I couldn't use any other mouse. I've used it for MOBAs (DotA), FPS (Apex), MMOs (RS3), etc, Literally everything. Side note I never used the other 2 panels that it came with, only the 12 keybind panel. The only down side was that the mouse is small so if you have bigger hands your wrist will fall onto your mat and drag everywhere. It didn't bother me much hence the 6+ years. I did however have to switch off it for this exact reason of it being too small since it started giving me some carpal tunnel issues. However I was so used to the 12 additional keybinds that I couldn't find a good replacement. Luckily I finally found it and I switched to the [Azeron Cyro](https://store.azeron.eu/azeron-keypads#keypad=cyro). Super weird to get used to at first but like anything else it will eventually become muscle memory. The only downside is that I find the palm of my hands getting sweaty very easily and quickly. Currently looking into modding it myself and adding a fan on there. To be continued on that end. Other than that it solved my carpal tunnel issues.

Bro I used to love this mouse, my favorite shape of all time, unfortunately the newer models are bad for my grip style. I now use the steel series Aerox 3 which is pretty much the shape as the steel series rival 3, a cheaper alternative. I like how my palm feels resting on these mice, but I tend to use more of a claw grip. If you like using a palm grip the Logitech g502 would be good, it has a button in a similar spot as the sniper button and you can make bind it to do the same thing as the sniper button with the Logitech software. Edit: I’ll be honest man I’ve been looking for a mouse like this one forever. I don’t think you’ll be able to find a shape quite like it, I haven’t been able to. The only thing I liked almost as much was the razer naga.

Same here unfortunately. I've tried a lot of other MMO mice over the years. None have as good a thumb button pattern/sizing. Only the Naga let's me assign shift to one of the middle row buttons, then easily roll my thumb left and right to get shift4 or shift6 from just my thumb.

r/MMORPG • Gaming Mouse recommendations for MMOs? ->

Qix213 • 9 months ago

Naga. I'm not a fan of razor in general. But no other MMO mouse has better thumb button size/placement. With the Naga I map the center button on the bottom row to shift. And with that I can roll my thumb up, left, or right and get another three keybinds. No other mouse fits my thumb that well. 99% of the time I only use the bottom six buttons. The others are just basic things like auto run, sit, walk, etc. That makes for 8 buttons that I can press instantly with just my left thumb. Lots of quick reaction buttons there. And just having shift there also lets me press that for shift, instead of my left pinky. One less thing for my left hand to do. Makes Shift+4 while moving and jumping easier. In WoW I double bind 5 and r to the same spell, same for 6 and f. 789 -shift= are on my thumb button. And 0 is moved to ' (left of 1). This gives me ready, instant access to the entire hotbar. And with shift, an entire second hotbar (excepting shift+7 and shift+9). Then a few non-reactionary spells like buffs, hearthstone, toys, etc can go wherever. These can go on a bar that is vertical against my party frames (I play healers). So it's real easy to cast them on friends when needed. But these are also bound to F# keys as well so multiple casts can be done quickly with mouse over macros while moving forward (but not jumping/strafing etc). Macros will let that be enough to play even a druid in all forms with every spell being useable. And this is without stopping movement to reach and without any annoying left pinky stretch ever being required. It's been a couple expansions since I played, so I'm just assuming the button bloat hasn't gotten too bad since.

1. Yes, the Razer Naga 2. Worth it - yes. Necessary - absolutely not. I **do** find that the MMO mouse makes high-ability jobs like Paladin a **lot** easier to access all of their abilities. 3. It might. It really depends on the player. I didn't think it would make that big a difference for me having grown up on MMOs just using the 1-5 keys and modifiers. But after using it now, I find it essential. That ALSO means that if you ever travel or play the game on a different PC, you'll need to bring your MMO mouse with you. The game becomes unplayable without one.

I got my razer naga when I started playing wow, then some logitech i cant remember the model, now i have g602. All of them have "mmorpg buttons". I can't imagine playing without them. There is an improvement in a sense that your rotation feels more seamles. The Naga's keys seem a bit wider set so might feel more comfortable, the last set of buttons on logi isn't within the natural placement of the thumb for me so they feel kinda clunky. If you're thinking of getting one try out how it feels in your hand and if you can press the buttons easily.

I'm curious in what position you put your hand to make those left 2 columns reachable. At best I can reach the rightmost 2 columns, and I'd probably have to completely relearn how to use a mouse to use the first two... but I do admit that having a dedicated dodge button that doesn't require double tapping or contorting my thumb to the alt key has become a core part of all games that I play. I just wish that games would be more consistent about allowing the binding of mouse-4 and mouse-5, because I got like 3 different profiles on my Razer Naga because some don't allow me to use shift, some don't allow me to use mouse-4 and mouse-5, and some don't allow me to use function keys...

G502 has 10-11 customized buttons beside left and right click Naga has like 12 or slightly more If dont use more than 10 buttons, g502 can do both mmo and first shooter person with great performance. The rest comes down to comfort on what type of your hands are and what kinda grip for your hand that you would like on your mouse. Also pair up your g502 with the logitech mousepad that has charging on it. Wireless and auto charging mouse pad. They are good but synapse can be a bit of a pain sometimes and I had so sensor issues with the pro model. I recently switched to the Steelseries Aerox 9. This mouse gets a lot of hate but honestly I think it's great. The build quality and light weight is amazing. I can use it for FPS games where previously the naga was too heavy. The thumb grid is a slightly different layout and the thumb grid buttons require a tiny little bit more force to actuate but I love it how they aren't dead clicky and loud. Battery life is decent and it charges superfast via USB C.

Wow, gotta say kudos to you. I have limited control of my left hand, so the naga helps me a LOT. Luckily, my thumb has enough control to mostly be okay, but I've never tried binding movement to the mouse, so I can't strafe left/right and go forward/backwards at the same time... kinda limits me. It must have taken a lot of practice to use only the mouse! Since I can essentially only press one keyboard key at a time, I use 1 for jump, 2 for ctrl, 3 for alt, 4 for shift, and then 5/6 for different options depending on the game. I don't \*usually\* go into the rows past that. Love these mice. It's at least my 3rd naga though because the clickers die after a while. My current one (v2 pro) seems to be holding up... I think it's a couple of years old now.

I used to own a Razer Naga. The extra buttons were fine for things like mounts, sprint, teleports, potions, etc. Basically anything you didn't tend to do very often. Trying to use the side buttons for abilities that are commonly used in the rotation was more difficult than using the keyboard. I assigned Ctrl and Shift to two of the side buttons that were easiest for me to reach, and I got used to using those as my modifiers to access my second and third hotbars. I found a lot of success with that. When I switched back to a more standard four button + scrollwheel mouse, the only thing I kept from the Razer Naga was the Ctrl and Shift modifiers on the two side buttons. So are MMO mouses worth it? Maybe, that's up to you and whether you feel like you have a specific need for all those extra buttons. Necessary? Absolutely not. Do MMO mouses make you a better player? No, not at all.

For me, this is something I'd really want to go to the store and look at the mouse if it has a display or packaging to get my hand on it. Currently I use the Corsair Scimitar before that I used the Razer Naga. I only switched because I was tired of my Naga breaking.

I had my first naga for probably 8 or so years before it started having any issues. And that thing went through hell. Got a new one after. Its cool the newer ones have replaceable side plates but sometimes the button connections aren’t working and requires you to take the side plate off and put it back on. It's amazing how much you can get out of this one. * It replaces my keyboard when I sculpt in blender. * It helps me do formatting and correction in text articles using one hand. * I get to bind every function I want in video games to it. I grabbed it because it pissed me off how much I have to wave my hand from keyboard to mouse at work. Now I'm confused why this isn't a standard button setup on a mouse. Seriously a way to level up how you use the PC.

I used to always use a razer naga or schimitar. However after converting to mostly fps games for a while I’ve adapted to using my fps mouse for mmos. As long as they have two side buttons it’s not too bad. Most mmos aren’t too bloated I just try to make key binds that make sense in my mind. I usually put all my spells or abilities that I need on single key presses then major cool downs or things I don’t use on a modifier + a key press.

I've used both the Corsair Scimitar Pro and the Razer Naga, and really enjoyed both. On the Scimitar, you can adjust the position of the 12 buttons (not a ton, but you are able to move it a little for your hand). It's stuck with 12 buttons on the side though. The Razer has a lot clickier buttons (something I like) and you have the option to change out the side plate for different button configurations (12, 6 and 2 buttons). Right now I'm team Razer, but did use the Corsair for about 5 years. Hope this helps!!

Naga has always been my go to, but Razer has fucked it up over the years by adding more and more shit to it. Swappable button layouts in particular cause me endless issues where thumb buttons just stop responding until I remove and reset the module. Scroll wheel sensor is also super finicky, especially if you have pets (hair gets into a gap in the scroll wheel housing and trips the sensor so when scrolling it just jumps all over the place).

Google it. Its a common issue in Nagas. I had the same thing happen to me for who knows what reason, somewhere in the 6-12 month time frame. My middle mouse button can rarely be held as it usually spams the button and scrolling sometimes gives additional inputs or does that kind of "rubberband" inputs where it'll do the opposite input after scrolling. No rough handling at all.

Biggest misconception about the G502 is that it's made for large hands. While it works for some; myself included cannot use it. It's too damn narrow at the grip. My buddy with slightly smaller hands performs extremely well with it. If you fancy spending a little $$$ for a long term mouse, I recommend the Zowie EC line. Ergo shape, very large, around 70-80g, no extra software needed. I myself searched all over for a good mouse that fit my hand, went through about 40 different mice, and ended up on the "Zowie EC1-CW". I wanted large, not 100g, wireless, don't care for RGB, and more modern performance (negligible), and no additional programs needed to change mouse settings. Another few mice I enjoyed (though heavy) was the Razer Naga, Corsair M65, and (not heavy) G Pro Wireless / Superlight, and Glorious Model D. My hands are 8.25 x 4.5 (If I remember correctly). And I can totally palm the EC1-CW comfortably. It's literally a perfect fit for my hand. They also have different sizes of the same mouse. Also take grip style into account. I'm more a hybrid of Palm/claw. Width was the biggest killer for most mice from my experience. Anything under 63mm grip area width gave me cramps in my hand

Otherwise the roccat cone pure shape I liked, there is a modern clone called the Saturn pro and also the deathadder variants and Microsoft intellimouse pro.. unfortunately a lot of bigger options are on the heavy side. I've used the Razer Naga and the Corsair Scimitar. TL;DR- Scimitar had more weight & felt better but the mouse wheel broke consistently. The Naga feels lighter/cheaper but I have yet to have issues with it. The Naga is lighter and I dislike that more, but I haven't had any issues with it. The Corsair Scimitar had more...heft, and felt better to me, but the mouse wheel broke every time after using it the same amount as the Naga. I had the Scimitar replaced twice within Corsair's normal warranty on it and that was always the issue. Still loved the shit out of the Scimitar but swapped to Naga because of that to test it.

I love the Naga's. Been using them for over 12 years. I had a bad pinched nerve in my left hand, so my pinky was weak and not really useful for gaming. So for most games 4 is crouch, 5 is sprint, 6 is some special ability. 2 is interact, etc. I put a lot of normal stuff on it too. Copy, Enter, Paste, great at work for spreadsheets too.

I dread the day my G600 dies. I wish more people realized how amazing it is to have a third lift click mouse button. The Razer Naga might be a replacement candidate, but the "third" button is near the index finger.

I've had my Razer Naga for over 10 years now and it's still working so no plans to replace it. It's pretty easy to set up and use. 12 extra buttons feels right - I can have one full action bar just be the mouse.

I agree to not buy razer products. Had 2 nagas that both broke and a wolverine controller that didnt live long either. Totally disagree with your other point tho. Yes, you might not 'need' one. But it is far superior to have 12 buttons all right on your thumb, and then you only have to hit hotbar modifiers like shift, ctrl, alt etc.

I have the new razer naga. I thought I’d be using all of those side buttons. I use maybe 4 but it’s nice. Still trying to get the hang of it. I found it disappointing that the 2 buttons by left click aren’t for gaming and are used for tuning sensitivity. You can remap them but they’re too smooth and contour to the left click and it’s really tricky to use.

More like user issue to me. Some people out there are just bad and doesn’t take care of things. If you take care of something, It’ll take care of you. Stay away from Logitech and Steelseries. My glorious O is 5 years old now. I had my Benq Zowie for more than a decade and I still use it. Still have my Deathadder, Mamba, Spectre and Naga throughout the years. Zowie is always been my mouse and I bought one from 2022. I use my 10+ year old on my laptop.

I'm also on my third, but for a different reason.... I have a Naga on my desktop, my work computer, and my iPad. Got my first one in 2013 and each time I've upgraded I've donated the old one to a non-gaming system. The 2013 Naga is still going strong on my work computer. The wireless battery died years ago so I just use it plugged in now.

I have the Tartarus + Naga combo. One sits on each side of my keyboard. I honestly don't use the Tartarus very often at all. I thought I would because I pretty much exclusively play MMORPGs. However, with 12 buttons on the side of the Naga, I don't really have a use for the Tartarus. I've had three Naga's over the past ten years (all three still work). I've never noticed any problems with button pushes and the pressure required. I will say the latest is the fastest and softest though. If you have a Best Buy near they usually have a Razer display with keyboards and mouse to try. The latest Naga is usually on demo at my local Best Buy.

I’ve used the Razer Naga since the first one and it took *maybe* a couple days to get used to it. Seems weird at first but it’s really not bad if you just use it. Ends up being like typing, the more you do it the better you get at it. I’ve since replaced it with a newer version but it worked great the whole time. Current one I’ve had for years and still works great. It’s a blessing and a curse though because now I won’t even consider playing a MMO without it. With shift and ctrl modifiers I can bind far more skills/abilities/consumables/etc than I would ever actually use. I even use the side buttons for other games, shooters for weapon selections/grenades, ARPGs for skills/consumables/etc. As far as competitors go, sorry I’m not sure. Never had a problem with Razer so never tried anything else.

Eh, their new mice seem pretty decent, but I’ve had a mixed bag of experiences with them, and for context I’ve never had issues with any other peripherals I’ve owned. Razer deathstalker - over time the entire keyboard feel could only be described as “crunchy” cleaning wouldnt fix it, then after a few years my D key broke due to the rubber dome (not mechanical keyboard) failing. Razer sphex - it was an ultrathin mousepad that stuck to your table, it was fine but clearly wore down after about 4 years. Razer naga - it was mostly fine, but after a few years the sensor would randomly lock up and only move horizontally, no clue what caused it and it was extremely random Razer kraken - they worked perfectly fine, except the lighting effects cause an audible sound, having it off or static fixed the issue, but any pulsating or alternating effect had a weird background hum.

I religiously use it and I've never personally had an issue hitting the wrong buttons. The main problem I have with the Naga is that l, for a while at least, they were only selling it as the Trinity which was $100 and has a lot of connection issues due to the removable button panels. I'll often loose use of these buttons while playing and have to pull the panel off and put it back on, sometimes more than once. If you can get it just as the Naga then I totally think it's worth imo

The only issue I ever have with my Naga is when I use my USB switch to my work laptop and back again repeatedly the keybinds sometimes switch off and I have to take the side off and on again.
