ROCCAT (Turtle Beach) - Kone Pro Air

I've been using the KPA for work the last couple years. It is a very kozy mouse. Really love the thumb groove. Similar to the MX518. The right side, it's ok, but was never for me. I see what they're doing with the design, but fingers just don't rest where they should, so its just thin front to me. i have a roccat kone pro air and its good for butterfly and jitter and drag- but if you jitter/butterfly only there are a lot of better options i think. i also have the model o wireless and both are amazing

I own a roccat kone air pro but it's been feeling off with tracking issues, how different do you think this will be? I also sometimes shift to a tight side grip so I might feel the flex maybe?

I did a rather drastic jump of g305 to the kone pro air. KPA might still be the best shape for me. I go back to it every now and then. Also any half competent modern coating makes the "normal" ergo mouse picking up problem not a thing. Your hands just grip onto the mouse and its easy to pick up.

I can vouch for the Kone Pro shape with my 19.5x10.5 hands but the QC is mid and the Kone Pro air that I have creaks a lot.

There is no best per se - it's all down to preference. I've had the razer DeathAdder V2 pro, which was really good. The rubber patch where the thumb sits wears off though. I currently use the roccat Kone pro air. Awesome, but roccat no longer exists and is part of turtle beach now. Not sure I'll stick with them as I don't believe turtle beach is as good as roccat was. The Logitech g502 (few options I think) wireless is meant to be really good too - that's what I've been looking at for my next one but I don't actually need a new mouse at the moment. There's plenty more options, too.

id reccomend a glorious model o wireless or a roccat kone pro air, they have all of those things and they are the best mice ive used before

I have a roccat kone pro air, no wire getting caught up or causing friction but friendly fire does happen sometimes due to the really light touch mouse buttons. 🤷‍♂️

Roccat Kone Pro Air.... think its Turtle Beach Pure Air or Pure Sel now. Such a good shape for larger hands imo. At least when it was Roccat...not sure if it changed or just name.

Been using a Kone Air Pro for almost 2 years now and love it. They make a corded version you can buy on amazon from the manufacturer direct as well for less than 40 and on sale recently was 21.99 (turtle beach as they have dropped the Roccat line branding though they have always been the actual makers/owners). Logitech has wheel and button click issues these days and it drives many of us nuts. The G502 is abysmal for everyday use with the cord. and both wireless and corded suffer from the pointed left and right mouse pad clickers. Feels like cheap garbage and honestly has no reason to be like that at all imho. YMMV SteelSeries used to make some very affordable mid tier mice that were fairly competitive and had basic but functional software for tuning them. I owned the Rival 3, 1st gen and it was a good one until it died just 7mo into it. At the time it was a $99 dollar mouse. The new versions are redone but have not used them. They do a some theme branded stuff for high dollar, Diablo 4/ WoW etc. for 149.99 if you are into that stuff. Glorius Model D is as good and you can by them refurbished to new for 15.99 on amazon direct from manufacturer. Actually very good for FPS /Shooter games. Not as good as the Model O but for the price very hard to beat. Lots of other high end and boutique gaming mice but i am a bit frugal unless the product is just superior for durability/function many are also quite good. If you have a best-buy, or Micro center or similar place with mice on display to use and feel i suggest that, it can help a great deal. good luck Cheers!

so Imma just say there is a new model o and an old one. I gave my old one to my brother and bought one of the new ones. (its still called the same, but its a different model) Now mine broke after 2 years and the one I gave to him is still working. So I am not too convinced of glorious mice anymore. I love the roccat cone pro air I got now and its a lot easier to drag click as well (you can't drag on most model o)

DO NOT get the o2. Especially for drag any mouse's coating will wear off after a few months. If you want to drag get the roccat kone pro air pretty good mouse. If you are ok with short drag performance and want to butterfly click, have good build quality and reliable switches get the o2 pro or the d2 pro

Do NOT buy the Model O 2. I bought it and returned it because of many many issues not allowing it to connect well. I bought a Roccat Kone Pro Air instead and it has never failed me

I've gone through a lot of mice over the years and I'm convinced it's mostly purely personal preference regarding how it fits your hand. My top three are the Kone Pro, G703, and Logitech Pro, but I don't even see two of those on the list. It's such a personal decision that asking for suggestions on Reddit is akin to asking strangers to tell you what pants will fit you best.

KP is great (possibly my favourite shape currently), but I wouldn't say it has a thumb rest. Could just be semantics, but for me the G502x has a thumb rest, because it extends away from the base of the mouse. KP has more of a pronounced thumb groove. Otherwise, I agree that the mains are maybe the most disappointing part of the KP. They are usable, but I wouldn't say they are a joy to use. They are okay. Regular TTC Gold Dustproofs would feel nicer.

O2 isn’t good, buttons are too slim for butterfly clicking. Get a kone pro for $25 on Amazon or a model o original

Get a roccat kone pro. Great for drag clicking, great for big hands, and one of the best mouses ive used to this date

When a few friends of mine switched to light mice, chiefly the Logitech GPX, and were swooning for them, I gave it a try and got caught up in the hype. I had very happily used my Roccat Kone Aimo for years, but a weight of 130g really wasn't cutting it and I saw my aim suffer in quick flicks. After quite a bit of research (shoutout to eloshapes!) I decided to go with the Roccat Kone Pro. It was clear right from the start that I wanted a similarly large ergo mouse with a thumb rest for comfort. Not many options in that category tbh, but I'm really happy with the choice I made. Also tried the Glorious Model I 2 and the Logitech G502, but the Kone Pro just fit into my hand better. So then, what is it like? It's great! The weight (66g) is a massive difference and the classic kone shape still fits really well. Movements feel effortless and very comfortable and controlled. It's a bit smaller than the Kone Aimo and therefore a bit too small for my usual palm grip, but that's fine. The weight makes up for it so that I don't need that much support, being able to switch to a palm/claw "hybrid". The scroll wheel is awesome. The only issue I have is with the mouse buttons which feel a bit mushy for desktop use, but in games when you're locked in you don't notice at all. In contrast to the Aimo the buttons are individually mounted and not integrated into the main body cover, so I think that's what makes them feel a bit less stable. Overall the build quality is acceptable but nothing extraordinary I'd say, but I never expected the thickest hard plastics in a light mouse where weight is the priority, and in games you don't ever notice it at all. The plastic still feels solid. Objectively the only issue is a bit of rattling when you set it down. It might be a small step backwards in feeling of quality for desktop use, but it's a massive improvement in reaction speed in game and comfort over long periods of time for both games and desktop use. I'm running it at 1000 Hz and 2000 DPI, same as the Aimo. However, with the more effortless movement I was able to reduce ingame sensitivity by about half, which improved my feeling for the crosshair immensely (CS2: 0.5 sens > 1000 eDPI). And with that I can only recommend this mouse. Didn't see many reviews for it here, or people posting about using it, so I thought I'd chime in. Its differentiating mark is definitely the shape, and I strongly recommend that everybody try an ergo mouse with a thumb rest. It's very comfortable for normal to long fingers and over long periods of time. There are also some pictures for reference (yes, I'll also get a new mousepad...).

I gotta recommend the roccat kone pro. best mouse I’ve ever owned. drags pretty high (30-40 pretty easily), has some grippy surface material so you don’t need to apply tape, and is an amazing mouse even outside of drag clicking. registers clicks really well and is pretty ergonomic (especially for my hand). The price is also not that bad, you can pick one up for around 45 dollars if you wait for a sale honestly though, you don’t have to buy a new mouse just to drag click. I drag clicked on an office mouse and a corsair dark core (both not known for their ability to do it) long before I got my roccat kone pro. you can really do it with any mouse given enough practice (although you might need to use a 3rd party software like x mouse button control to make it possible due to debounce settings)

I have a Roccat Kone Pro myself. It is also like a lighter G502, but doesn't have extra buttons.

Honestly also recommend it ^ back when I had a mouse phase in like 2021-2022 it was my favorite and I still use it

The KPA is still my favorite after trying so many different mice over the past couple of years. Every time I don’t use it for a while and pick it up I just say oh yeah to myself.

+1. It's simply incredible, I love that mouse. Large, heavy, an absolute tank, and it's even wireless with a charging dock included. And the amount of buttons is perfect. Only downside though is that those side buttons feel unfathomable cheap for a 150$ mouse, and that's why I'm switching back and forth between that one and my Roccat Kone, those mechanical side buttons just feel so much better, even though the mouse is just flimsy in comparison.

I also had two Roccat Kones. First one lasted 1 year, second one lasted 1.5 years. Both ended up with double-click issues.

I used a roccat kone for my mouse and I think its perfect. Its one of the very few gaming mice ive ever found that has 4 regular sized thumb buttons (most either just have 2 or a whole number pad with tiny buttons). Its only like 70$ and works very well.

Moderately large hands guy here who has dug through countless of these threads: You're right. Almost every mouse in this thread is too small for you. While eloshapes doesn't paint a complete picture of hand feel, you'll see that most recommendations is around the same size as the Deathadder V3, which is already too small for my hands. Gaming mice used to be way larger on average but nowadays the selection just sucks. The following mice are actually significantly larger, but many of them have other drawbacks like weight or shape or come with very dated tech because they're old. - Asus Rog Spatha X: largest "normal" gaming mouse I know of, but also heaviest - Asus Rog Chakram: smaller than Spatha, but still very large and heavy - Roccat Kone/Turtle Beach Kone - Intellimouse These two aren't longer than you average mouse, but somewhat wider instead. Doubt they're big enough for you but figured I should mention. - Mionix Naos Pro - Corsair Ironclaw

I also have quite big hands, although I don't have actual measurements. But the biggest mouse I ever had was the Roccat Kone. Updated versions are still around and eventhough I don't know how changed the design is compared to +/- 10 years ago, it might be worth investigating.

I loved my Roccat Kone (Aimo, Air, II, XP) mouses. They were great for bigger hands. Sadly Turtle Beach bought Roccat, and there are a lot of bad reviews now...not sure if the products are actually worse or just their bad reputation. But still the shape and size is spot on for me, you might want to test one if you can.

I've never used the magic mouse, even for things NOT gaming-related. I've always used a dedicated gaming mouse. I recently switched to the Logitech G502 Hero, as my old on (ROCCAT KONE) wasn't available anymore :(

The Roccat Kone is good, until it breaks. And it breaks soon. I know what I'm talking about, because I had three of them. Broken switches, broken cables, none of them survived more than two years.

As another big handed gamer, you need to accept that heavy mice are okay. Roccat Kone is often recommended for bigger hands but you should consider fingertip grip if you need lighter.

First of all. Shape is king. Don't be worried about all the new optical tech and weight reduction. As someone who owns about 24 mice I've come to appreciate shape more than anything. There's no point in a weight class if your hand is gonna cramp in the first hour you're playing. At that point it doesn't matter what new tech is in the mouse or how feathery light it is. You're going to develop carpal tunnel down the line if you go at it like that. First, measure your hand and if you have the opportunity to test more in person like at an electronics store or if you have a friend that can let you borrow their mice with a different shape then your own go for it. I also highly encourage you watch different mouse reviews of different mice once you sort of come to that conclusion. The og Viper Ultimate is an excellent starting point to jump off of when exploring different mice. If I may, here are some things to consider/ look for when looking into other mice. - First of all, your Viper Ultimate is a bit of a flat mouse. The Viper Mini is wired but has a bit of a hump. This is highly subjective among gamers/ mouse enthusiasts because it affects how your palm is placed on the mouse itself. - Wired or not wired. Some prefer it wireless so there's no drag, but there are some mice that have very light braided cables or rubber cables. I personally use a Roccat Kone Pure Ultra that I switch off from my Ninjutso Sora. Please note that wired DOES add weight to the mouse, but depending on what kind of cable and if you use a mouse bungee or not will affect your gameplay. Having it wired never really bothered me. - Speaking of shape is king, there are mice that have different shapes and button layouts that you may find interesting. As I said before, The Roccat Kone Pure Ultra is one of my favorite mice in my collection. My first ever mouse was the older Roccat Owl Eye and I loved it for its shape. It has a bit of a curve that makes it more of a right hand mouse, but as a right handed person the curve actually suited my grip style. It also uses Titan mechanical switches that feel crisp to me. Is it faster than the switches in Razer's newer mice? Probably not, but I personally prefer the feel of the press over the latency test in game, which are marginal at best in my own personal testing. My other favorite mouse is the g502. Consider it's shape, multiple button options and the infinite scroll wheel where you can toggle a switch to have the scroll wheel spin instead of click in steps. It's heavier even without weights, but it's a comfortable mouse that also doubles as a nice productivity mouse for work. I would look into if having more buttons for your gaming/ productivity for work would be beneficial for your setup. - Don't worry about things like 8k polling rates or the newer switches that gets put into the newer mice. Unless you have an extremely beefy PC and a crazy monitor you won't really see those returns. Even if you had those in your setup, your performance still comes down to how comfortable you are to land your shots. Remember, even back then during the early days of Twitch and competitive online gaming that made certain streamers rich and famous, even they started off using wired mice. Ninja used a Logitech G502 and even used his own Finalmouse Ninja collab for years before going wireless. It just goes to show that practicing with the mouse that feels the most comfortable is what works. I hope this helps!
