I present to you the Turtle Beach/Kone XP Air I recently decided I needed a better mouse, specifically for Deadlock, and set out to replace my Razer Basilisk v3 (a great mouse in its own right). I wanted more buttons on the side to map items because I really try to keep my fingers on WASD at all times. I ordered a handful of mice, looking for mice with additional side buttons that were NOT mmo mice. I landed on the Steel Series Aerox 5, Glorious Model I 2, and the TB/Kone XP Air. I looked at the Corsair Nightsword, ROG Spatha and ROG Chakram X, but decided not to pull the trigger on them for various reasons. The Aerox 5 was an instant no. It has this weird whammy bar on the side that you flick up and down (like the guitar hero controller) that looked neat in theory, but it was really stiff and hard to use in practice. The Glorious Model I 2 was amazing and I almost kept it. The buttons are easy to reach with your thumb and it has multiple swappable buttons if you want different shapes. The m1 click action was very crisp and its also very light. I loved it. But then I got the XP Air. This mouse has some drawbacks. The M1 click action stinks, it's gummy with long travel distance and it feels bad. It's heavy at 100 grams. But the buttons, oh my lord the buttons. The side array is so perfect for items/skills with the quad button layout and the thumb rest button is literally the game breaker and why I bought it. **I mapped the thumb rest button to parry and I am able to parry/counterspell literally everything.** If you are looking for a better experience with using your active items, I strongly strongly recommend the XP Air. Deadlock isn't a twitch shooter, so the gummy M1 isn't as big a deal as it would be in COD or Battlefield (and I used it during both battlefield weekends and the side buttons were amazing there too). If you can't get over the gummy M1, and you think it's too heavy, then the Model I 2 is a really amazing runner up. My next plan is to mod the XP Air with a lighter battery and to remove some of the plastic guts with a Dremel. I've seen guides online where you can get it down to about 70 grams. That's all, thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Yeah basically a 602 but they don't make them anymore. Also, it has the tiltclick left and right on the scroll wheel and the thumb rest button which is honestly goated. Do you like the x15? I looked at it briefly but it had horrible reviews
For anyone who wants more buttons, let me introduce you to the Kone/Turtle Beach XP Air. I did a lot of research trying to find the perfect mouse for games that require a shit ton of hotkeys (cough Deadlock) but I didn't want a MMO number pad. This mouse has 5 side buttons, 2 extra buttons on m1 click that are *raised* and easy to press compared to the G502, and left and right scroll wheel tilt. The only thing it doesn't have is infinity scroll. The clicks feel a little gummy and it's a tad on the heavy side, so not perfect, but goddamn that button on the thumb rest should be standard on every single ergo mouse. It's a literally game changer. https://preview.redd.it/2xl5d3k4d4hg1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c973402926d9dfca157df28e1108550e1fa1f7f9
Kone xp air, or razer naga... theres also the glorious model i 2. Do not, i repeat, do not get the cosair darkstar. Im currently using the xp air and ive changed the "easy-shift[+]" button to a normal bind. G502 vs kone xp air: https://www.eloshapes.com/mouse/compare?p=logitech-g502-x-plus-vs.-turtle-beach-kone-xp-air One caveat to the xp air is the ring finger grip. Its all personal preference but i sanded that shit down to a more normal ring finger grip.
First of all, do not get the Corsair darkstar. I had one for about a week and was done with it in the first two days... Worse than a $20 microsoft mouse. I just got the kone xp Air about two weeks ago. It is amazing... I play mobas, fps games, mmos, rts, etc. I've never liked two button mice, yes, even while playing cs2 or val. Dont worry about getting the roccat vs. turtlebeach version. The only difference is a laser printed logo, lol. Form factor wise, this is THE mouse for valves' upcoming MOBA, Deadlock. It's almost like it was made for deadlock. ☆HAS 5 SIDE BUTTONS FOR A 5+2 CLUSTER(604 is 6+2 cluster, naga is just 6 button cluster) *PROS: ☆M1 AND M2 SOUND AND FEEL GREAT. I can't say the same for that piece of shit cosair darkstar. •The skates are a very nice shape and offer better stability than the 604. •It's lighter than the 604, 502, razer naga, and the darkstar. •The "+" & "-" buttons are placed better than the 604. •The "paddle" button is absolutely genius! I've bound it to "5" and it's my quick melee in games that have that, I dont fw the "[+]easyshift" feature(never tried it). •Apparently, this mouse is really good at drag clicking? I've never cared about drag clicking personally. •Battery life is quite good! •charging dock, although gimmicky, i love it. •sensor actually works... again, i can't say the same for that piece of shit Corsair darkstar. •no AA battery wobble... lol. *CONS: •scroll wheel on the g604 is the greatest scroll wheel of all time. Do not expect this or any mouses' scroll wheel to beat it •No scroll lock, although i found that slightly gimmicky anyway. •The thumb divet(NOT THUMB REST) under the buttons is slightly too far back unless you do an aggressive claw grip. •The "pinch distance" between thumb and ring finger is slightly smaller than 604. •The palm rest doesn't go to the base of your hand like the 604 and 502 do. •The right side is slightly slippery and convex. •M2 is convex for some reason. It still feels nice, but like, why? •slightly short. •small amount of pre-travel on paddle button. *NITPICKS: •Flaired bottom is unnecessary on the right side. •RGB is unnecessary. Also, it shines onto the see-through palm rest, causing hard light lines at the base of the mouse. Turning RBG down solves this issue. •"4D wheel" isn't a selling point, nor is it new... tons of mice have this. •NOT THE FABLED "G604X," lol. CONFIGURATION: If you want the 604 feel, you'll need to bind the side buttons to: [1] [4] or [1] [2] [2] [3] ~ [4] [3] [5] ~ [5] Alternatively(not recommended): [1] [4] or [1] [5] [2] [5] ~ [2] [4] [3] ~ [3] Idk why it formatted it like this...
Yes, i have mine bound to "5". Swarm works fine. I've had no issues other than i was impaitient and didn't let the settings save, causing slight frustration, but other than that, swarm is pretty good.
Red dragon maybe? Their mmo mouse is actually amazing. I just stepped up to the kone xp air from there, but idk if that would be big enough. Maybe the g502 also.
My hands are a little bit larger than average, and have found the Turtle Beach (Formerly Roccat) Kone XP Air to be magnificent. Lightweight, super comfy, and a couple extra programmable buttons without going overload.
Aerox 9 is currently the best numpad mouse (the software sucks though unfortunately, the keybinds and DPI setting do save to the on-board memory though, not the RGB, you need to use OpenRGB to control it's RGB if you give up on the glitchy GG software that only works half the time). Asus Chakram is also really good. Asus Spathia weights as much as a brick, doesn't have as many buttons as a numpad mouse, but it's good. Roccat/Turtle Beach Kone XP air is also amazing (though it's discontinued, old stock is still floating around thankfully). And of course the Glorious Model i2 Wireless is amazing. For a wired mouse that's arguably overpriced but also arguably worth the price, is the Swift-point Tracer.
Damn dude your hands are massive, maybe even bigger than mine. Ill give you the list of all of the mice I've tried. 1. Steel Series Aerox 5 - probably my favorite but it is expensive, I don't particularly like the software, It had an issue where it would disconnect randomly sometimes, and after a few years the scroll wheel stopped working. But the weight and button configuration are what are great about this one. It also has a comfortable shape for big hands. 2. Pulsar xlite v4 large - great mouse, great shape, i can almost palm it, I can if im feeling lazy, wide enough for a comfy finger tip grip that large hands pretty much have to use. I wish it had more side buttons but this is my current mouse that i replaced the Aerox with and I love it. I whole heartedly recommend giving this one a try. It has a simple software that just does what its supposed to and nothing else. The software also doesnt need to be running all the time. 3. Mionix Naos Pro - its almost perfect, its almost what i want it to be. if it were just a little taller i would be able to palm it. I think its a solid choice for xxl hands but its just not quite there, the pulsar is far lighter and has a better shape for fingertip grip. 4. Steel series rival - solid, heavy, you can actually add weights to make it heavier. back when i used this i didnt think i would like a light mouse. over all a good mouse with a good shape for large hands. 5. Logi G604 - great mouse, i dont think they make them anymore so they are hard to find/expensive. Scroll wheel is great. Probably about as close to an mx master as your gonna get. Has the weird shape where it gets skinnier where the ring and pinky finger rest so you end up dragging or sticking out your pinky. Lots of thumb buttons, did i mention i like that. 6. Roccat kone xp air - weird shape, almost looks like a left handed mouse but its not. i really like the button configuration but the shape just makes it uncomfortable for the ring and pinky finger, side buttons arent worth an uncomfortable grip 7. Logi G900 - meh one of the first "large" mice i aquired. Its too narrow to be comfortable for xxl hands. 8. Logi G502 - dont listen to anyone who recommends this mouse, its actually not really any smaller than any of the other mice here but the button placement is verry uncomfortable for xxl large hands. I think that about covers it other than I use an mxMaster 3 at work. I would still like for these all to be a little bigger but gaming mice don't get any bigger than this that i have found. TLDR I RECCOMEND THE PULSAR XLITE V4 LARGE Edit - I've held some of the razers at the store and i didn't particularly care for them.
Idk, I do feel like the options for mice with a ton of macros has gotten more limited recently. Logitech cut their 600 and 604 so I believe the 502 is now their mouse with the most buttons; they basically don't have mmo options anymore. I was looking for a 604 replacement recently and there almost aren't any mice with the same layout... and it only gets worse if you're also looking for other specific things like a white mouse instead of a black one. I ended up going with the Kone XP Air, it's about as close as you can get, but there are still various tradeoffs with the 604 that don't really make it a one to one depending on what you need and I've had to get used to a couple changes to make it work for me. I think that's my personal annoyance with the mouse market atm, it feels like there's 60 variations of the same basic ultra light two button mouse that are almost functionally identical, but only a handful of mice with real layout and feature differences that matter more from a productivity standpoint. And I bet it correlates with the fact that the people who are looking for the kind of mice I want aren't the ones who buy a new one like every year lol
I had this issue with both the old Scimitar and the Roccat Kone XP Air. I feal like it should be a basic thing for your mouse to still work as a mouse when all other bells and whistles of your driver break, but I guess that's too big an ask, lmao.
