That's very interesting. I'm going to try that with my work mouse. For my home mouse, it puts all the buttons in a strange place and I wouldn't be able to use any of the [additional buttons](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/4yTv5Lfdgc0/maxresdefault.jpg). But I might be able to print an extension to the back of the mouse so I'd effectively be doing the same thing. Food for thought, I'll see what I can design and print and see if it works out. I had tried creating a wrist-rest as a separate piece, but I never found that it supported in quite the right way and it got annoying having it there. But if it were attached to the main mouse body that might help things. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to work on it when I have some free time and see if I can adjust my grip for the normal mouse I use at work.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately that still only has a couple of buttons. I’m really looking for something like the roccat Leadr (which they don’t even make anymore sadly). Or at least a mmo style pad like a naga v2 pro. Something that can handle a bunch of commands from the mouse directly.

Thanks yeah, that does have a couple more buttons. More of the direction I'm looking for. It's only $30 so I might just try it and see if I can move some stuff off the mouse and onto other keyboard shortcuts. My favorite mouse is [this Roccat Leadr, ](https://www.newegg.com/roccat-roc-11-852-leadr-usb-2-0-rf-wireless/p/N82E16826436061)which has about 8 extra buttons I use but then also has a "Shift" button on the thumb adding another 6 buttons effectively. In practice for example in AOE2, this allows me to select idle military and eco units, 4 building types, and assign and activate 4 different groups of military units (like knights, archers, rams, and monks) on the fly. There's also like a flappy side paddle that makes scrolling web pages a very pleasant experience. All of those buttons in my video editor have different functions like cutting in and out points, moving the playhead around, or cutting/pasting clips. The software for assigning them isn't brilliant as it can only hold 4 programs at a time but it switches between them effortlessly in the background. Honestly if I could just get this exact mouse in a vertical format I think I'd be thrilled! But since they don't even make the flat one anymore I guess the market isn't likely to demand a vertical version.

Tell me more. I had a Roccat Leadr and it was my most favorite mouse ever. I even soldered in new buttons because I couldn't buy a new one anymore.

G300S was my go-to but I don't believe it's in production anymore. The Roccat LEADR is a similar design but it's definitely a lot larger, it's G502 sized.

Man i mustve got very lucky cuz none of my products defected apart from one mouse and man i wished they kept it on the market. Got a Kone Pro Air and had it since 2023 still kickin, wished Leadr was still going though what a fucking workhorse.

r/Guildwars2I never thought I needed a 12 mouse buttons for this game but I hope it’s a big change in a good way for me

I startet GW2 10 Years ago with a Roccat Tyon, then i changed to the Leadr (the newer version of the Tyon). Unfortunately this mous was discontinued years ago but without this mouse i would never be able to play GW2 again like now. I also bought instandly a nearly not used one from Ebay after i found it by luck. It was over MSRP but yea.... For me the prefect mouse and i looked around a lot and never found something similar that was even close.

r/MouseReviewIMO the ROCCAT Tyon/Leadr had best button layout ever. A modernized equivalent is desperately needed.

It's a shame this mouse was never revamped, and with Roccat's demise we'll probably never see another like it. After many years with this mouse, I'm lost without the two extra buttons on the right-click side—so much so I've spent upwards of $250 to buy up some of the last few Tyons I could find. It's a shame there's been nothing quite like this mouse since. Yes, it's unfortunate the up/down analog mouse paddle reliably dies after about 6months of use (gone through \~10 of em by now), so I've learned to stop using it entirely. I guess my dream variant of this would include: 1. A larger side thumb-button in front of the back/forward buttons (like the g502). 2. A long-lasting analog paddle. 3. Tilting scroll wheel in addition to the top L/R paddle. 4. Detachable cable for LL Wireless or wired config. 5. A center-top toggle behind the wheel for free-scrolling like the g502. An old dude can dream, right?
