Hey r/MouseReview I've been using MMO mice for about 15 years. Logitech G600 for most of that, picked up a Razer Naga HyperSpeed when I wanted wireless for on the couch. Both great mice but I work in the trades all day (plumbing, gas fitting) and by the time I get home to edit videos or game, my wrists are already cooked from work. Backed the Solakaka E9 Pro on Kickstarter for about $100 CAD. It's a vertical MMO mouse with: * 45 degree grip * 10 side buttons along your thumb arc * tri-mode wireless * 96 grams Honestly thought the learning curve going from flat to vertical would be weeks. Took about two days. Going back to the G600 or Naga after that actually felt wrong. I did a full comparison video if anyone's interested — weight, buttons, connection, real use in DaVinci Resolve and RuneScape. I'll drop the link at the bottom. Quick specs for the lazy: * G600: 135g, wired, 20 buttons (40 with G-Shift), discontinued * Naga HyperSpeed: 124g, wireless, 12 buttons, \~$140 CAD * E9 Pro: 96g, wireless, 10 buttons, vertical 45°, \~$100 CAD (Kickstarter) The one thing I miss is the Naga's free-scroll wheel. And the E9 Pro downloadable driver got flagged by Windows (false positive, smaller company) their online drivers work great as well!. As a long time user of the G600 and Naga, I'm happy to answer any questions about any of the three! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F537oPvxckE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F537oPvxckE)
2 of my complaints about it as well. No ring finger click and mouse wheel clicks, forward or back.
Unfortunately not, although I am sure that is just a software thing. Hopefully they add it later!
I know the G600 or Naga are basically the "official" WoW mouse at this point, sorry Steelseries. I've used the Naga or G600 for over 15 years (30+ year old gang reporting in), the 40 shortcuts with G-Shift, absolute unit. But I work in the trades during the day and by the time I sit down to game my wrist is already cooked. The flat grip wasn't helping. Tried the Solakaka E9 Pro, it's a vertical MMO mouse off Kickstarter. 45 degree grip so your wrist sits in a handshake position instead of twisting flat. 10 side buttons along the thumb arc, wireless, 96 grams. About $100 CAD for the kickstarter. Honestly thought I'd hate it. Two days to adjust. 10 buttons covers way more than I expected I only ever used about 8 on the G600 anyway, outside of PvP. If you need all 40 shortcuts the G600 is still king, I would for Arenas and RBGs. But if you're starting to feel the strain from those long sessions, the vertical grip is worth trying. Full comparison with the G600 and Razer Naga if anyone wants the deep dive: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F537oPvxckE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F537oPvxckE) Full disclosure: I'm not affiliated with Solakaka or any mouse company. Just a trades guy who games and makes YouTube videos about tech stuff on the side. I haven't played WoW for a number of years. I quit after WoD but wanted share something I find has helped me, with one of my old communities. If I ever returned to WoW, this mouse would probably be my daily driver for everything that isn't PvP related! The ring finger click + 12 Buttons on the G600 is still the GOAT for PvP, in my opinion. What mouse are you guys using for your daily driver?
I don't like keyboard binds tbh. It feels way more awkward. I've been using MMO mice for almost a decade now, I like them too much. I don't mind the weight too much these days. I can play FPS perfectly fine with my Naga. I actually have the SOLAKAKA E9 PRO in the mail coming soon. Excited to try out a vertical mouse.
FWIW I jumped on this link and I just received mine today, so it’s legit! Great mouse btw
This actually looks promising! I just published my review for the Keychron M5, and this thing seems like a legit option for MMO players. The weight is great, the angle is great (it's more horizontal than vertical, which should be closer to your wrist's neutral posture), and it also comes with a nice sensor inside. Nice to see another performance vertical mouse :))
Do you mind referencing the studies you're talking about? I converted to a vertical mouse and practically all the movement comes from the elbow or the shoulder. I experience no strain or fatigue, even after prolonged usage. Also, my accuracy in games is exceptional. I'm no competitive player anymore, but I still play competitive titles. I can reliably flick and continuously track opponents. I have no warm-ups or anything like that. I'm assuming if one had the usual training and warm-up ritual, they would too have excellent accuracy. Personally, I don't think any non-vertical ergonomic mouse enables your wrist to be in a fully relaxed position. I can't be bothered to search all the studies and stuff, but I would assume there are plenty of studies on normal (horizontal) mice causing severe problems in the wrist. Vertical mice make the most sense for prolonged usage. I wanted to say that you could have a dedicated "normal" mouse for competitive playing, but if you're a professional player, you're almost certainly going to have regular long training/playing sessions... Vertical mice reward those who have the patience to fully convert to them. I cared about my health and basically switched to a vertical mouse out of necessity. Desperation, if you will. However, it paid off big time. As soon as I got my vertical mouse, I ditched my G303. For the next 8 months I simply learned how to spread my fingers over the new shell, and relearned how to move the mouse. It's a commitment, and I understand that most people aren't ready to go that far.... It's still a niche market. With normal mice, you have a stupid number of shapes and models. With vertical mice, you only have a handful of models with 1000Hz sensors; the rest are medical companies selling shapes (horrible weight and hardware). In my eyes, the selling point of vertical mice is that they anatomically make sense. It's up to companies to explore different shapes and innovations to make further advancements. With more options, you could explore different grip styles and shapes, and see what fits you best. But that is yet to come :/
There are too many unknowns for those two studies to have any real weight. I would even consider them useless. What do we know about the test subjects? The age, okay. What about what kind of a mouse user they are? A gamer? If so, are they a casual, competitive, or professional gamer? How much time do they spend playing games? A "normal" computer user? Okay, how much time do they spend on their computer? You get the point, a million and two questions can be asked. And it's not like it's irrelevant information. There are good studies and bad studies. I would never blindly trust a study, but I know many people do. Accuracy problems are normal in the early transition period. No shit you are going to feel lost when you are switching to a completely new shape and way of holding/moving a mouse. When you were a kid and used a mouse for the first time, did you have accuracy with it? I didn't. I also wouldn't have accuracy if you have me a trackball (which I've never used before). That's what I mean by *vertical mice reward those with patience*. Virtually all standard computer users have extensive experience with standard, flat mice. Their hands and brain are used to that shape and posture. I also noticed that media outlets and reviewers suffer from the same issue, where they judge a vertical mouse during the phase where they haven't even gotten used to a vertical mouse. Unless you fully abandon your normal mouse, you can't get fully used to a vertical mouse. I simply think it would get in the way to not have your hand start fully adapting to the new shape. Neutral posture usually refers to the position in which a body part remains in a relaxed state. That's kind of the whole idea of vertical mice. In your original comment you mentioned counteracting clicks. I don't know how you guys hold your vertical mice and what kind of force you are applying when clicking, but my vertical mouse remains FULLY stationary when clicking. The thumb is there push the mouse against your palm, and in doing so, it stabilizes it within your hand. When I click my L/R buttons, there's not enough force applied to move the mouse at all. To me, it would make sense if all computer mice we vertical. Seriously. Lateral movements are easier to exercise when your hand is positioned vertically. That's why you can slap extremely hard with not much effort, no? Doing the same with your hand in a horizontal position... I don't think so. But we're not slapping anyone. We are talking about the health benefits and performance and accuracy. Despite multiple people claiming accuracy issues, I'm yet to hear that from someone who fully converted to a vertical mouse. I'm only 8 months in, and my in-game performance has drastically improved. The reality is that this will stay a niche category. We all know that the mouse companies will not educate and force the shift to vertical mice. The demand for normal mice is astronomical, the profits are guaranteed. Why would they?

Also a fan of vertical mice
The MMO mouse does not have tilting scroll wheel.i don't know many mice that have those in fairness
Ah well yeah if 8 buttons is not enough then your only other good choices is a G600, Naga, Corsair scimitar Elite, Solakaka variety, or ReDragon vatiety with the 9-12 button keypads. I'd say unless you need anti-cheat scripting within Logitechs G Hub, then you could so any of these brands. Yeah I saw how Razor locks down their macro abilities. Corsair does the same. What I mean: big gaming mouse companies restrict macros from firmware which means you'll likely be banned and detected from determinant input behavior of their HID. Where their determinant scripts get executed with delay of perfect digits like 1.0 seconds, 2.0 seconds, 0.5 seconds, every time. What you'd need is a log-normal or gaussian distribution with a long tail to simulate delayed reaction responses occassionally, kurtosis. Also reaction times are normally 58-80 ms clustered, then spread out between 46-140ms. This is why I do some fancy scripting on G hub using LUA. I stick to reasonable 1-4 keys executed in about 0.45-0.120 seconds and just accept that human behavior cant reliably do 8 moves perfectly in a 2.0 seconds sequence every time. Random delays are needed.
I'm roughly a 19.4 cm hand and I like it, it beats the LTC GM051 Wireless Vertical mouse imo
I just bought this, I'll give you my initial thoughts around April 3rd I have a LTC GM05 vertical, wireless mouse to compare it to. Other notable MMO mice I have are Naga v2, Redragon M811 Aatrox, UtechSmart Venus, Zelotes T-90 and C-12. Ping me if you don't have my opinion by then, currently shipping from AliExpress
posted this is another thread, so here's the copy & paste: **I just got my Solakaka E9 Pro in black color and I love it so far.** I've yet to assess the software so here's a physical review, initital E9 Pro thoughts: **Positives:** \- Keeps my wrist from dragging the mousepad / desk, it's a true vertical mouse with good ergonomics for long playtimes, allows a strong grip on the mouse. I bought this vert mouse because the LTC GM051 Wireless Vertical mouse did not make the cut and the Redragon M811 Aatrox (a hybrid of a traditional and vert mice) reminded me of my free-will and turned me onto the idea of playing with my wrist angled for long-term comfort. \- Buttons #1-6 are really accessable side buttons for binds, buttons 8 and 9 are still pretty easy to hit. Pressing the "1" buton is excellent for me. \- scroll wheel center click is firm, no miss click, glides easily and it's quiet, doesn't rattle like my ReDragon mouse. \- lights seem great, not excessive, I'm not a RGB fan so I usually just go one color. \- the mouse feels good, slides well. I'm using the mouse pad that was provided which is of good quality too. **Cons** **-** buttons 0 and 7 are challenging for my hand size, i'd have to pivot my hand (From the bottom of my hand to the tip of my middle finger, my hand is roughly 7.6 - 8" and buttom of my hand to tip of thumb is roughly 5.5- 5.75"... not trying to over-inflate my numbers either), I could see someone using their left pointer finger for button #7.. definitely plausible! \- scroll wheel center click is not very highly spammable, probably 25-35 clicks in 5 seconds. \- no scroll wheel left and right tilt, but I knew that before buying \-I'm an adult male, I could see kids not liking this due to needing an adult size hand, but my thumb just barely reaches the "0" button in the front. **My overall reaction:** \- I'm definitely keeping this. \- I'd say it's better than the Corsair Scimitar Elite which caused me to grip-misclick side buttons. \[context\] I was playing on a old Logitech that kept screwing up on the wheel. I bought 7 different mice after research. I ended up with the Zelote C-12, which was a newer upgrade in the last month and I still really like my C-12. I don't play FPS often, but I'm a strong gamer regardless. Obviously Zelote is not a premium brand with high-end sensors, but the ergonomics of that mouse were good for me and it had 6 side buttons and a thumb rest. I don't often use mouse software unless I script LUA in G Hub using a G604. I'm stoked to go see if I can run LUA scripts through this, but not a deal breaker. I'd love to see QMK support on new mice as it enables users to run inputs through the HID device I've tried the Scimitar, Naga v2 hyperscroll, RedDragons, UTechSmarts, but I tend to be playing competitive MMO's (for context) and like my mouse keybinds.
