I feel your pain.  Historically, I have had terrible luck with selecting a mouse.  I had brand loyalty for Razer and had good luck with them back in the day, but I bought a very expensive model for $100+ only to have it fail during very light use for build quality issues (left mouse button cover plastic cracked).  This was maybe a decade ago and since I have been on a carousel of trying all different brands of mice, only to end up disappointed.  The ones I remember are Corsair Sabre, Logitech g502 Hero, and Steel Series Prime+.  Invariably they all let me down, usually with the switches failing for either the left or right button in a short amount of time.  Except for the Steel Series, which I bought because it had optical switches, but unfortunately the scroll wheel was horrendous.  Right now, I am begrudgingly giving Razer another shot with a Basilisk v3 because it has optical switches as well.  Will just have to see how long it holds up.

SteelSeries and Logitech has dropped in build quality indeed e.g. my SS Prime+ failed after 6 months, out of the box the build wasn't that great either and the scroll wheel later died due to small piece inside breaking. Logitech is a hit or miss, they have a lot of trash products like the G102/G203 due to engineering flaws and few great ones most of them highly overpriced. Razer I think is still offering top quality products, specifically KB and Mouse, definitely not mics, headsets or speakers which applies to most gaming brands anyway. Roccat was pretty much dead brand even before Turtle acquired it and Turtle Beach is all round mediocre, kinda in the same category as [Genesis](https://genesis-zone.com/), except that Genesis at least isn't overpricing their stuff. Is Redragon really that good? It seems like they only have 1-2 mouse models like the M916, the rest are poorly designed which looks like the generic $10 Temu/AliExpress crap.

Not a single budget SteelSeries mouse? Interesting. Imo the Rival 3 or Prime/Prime+ is tough to beat for $20-30 and that's pretty much all most would need even for high rank FPS eSports. Rival 3 alone is sufficient, but afaik Prime is like better version of Rival 3 with better build, sensor and magnetic switches for same price or lower price than Rival 3.

Yes grip style is also important so you know what to look for a gaming mouse I recommend the steelseries prime or deathadder V3

I meant to say the deathadder V3 wired version? And about the prime yes it has old specs but you won't really notice it other than the weight because most mice nowadays are lightweight.

Steelseries Prime, had one for a couple years. Simple straight forward mouse, works really well and it's fast. Battery lasts ages, and charges really fast after it dies
