How does the g502 compare to the g305 L? I didn't like the g305 and prefer the SteelSeries Rival 3 W, but maybe the g502 is a serious upgrade?

You hear a lot about Logitech mice but I didn't really like my G305 Lightspeed. Buttons felt like they had far too much travel and far too little resistance. I found myself hitting them when I didn't intend to and when I did want to hit them, sometimes I didn't press deep enough and it wouldn't click. Just my experience, maybe I bought the wrong Logitech mouse 🤷‍♂️ I've had plenty of mice in my hand, granted only a couple gaming mice, and I can't say I've liked the feel of any besides the SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless. It doesn't feel perfect, and I'm still looking for something that does feel perfect, but until I find an option around this price point, I'm going to keep buying these. I drove my first one straight into the grave with an absurd amount of hours. Straight-up unemployed type hours. I'm now on my second and I still like it. It works, it's cheap, and the software is functional 🤷‍♂️ Can't ask for much more than that imo Edit: Fun fact, I actually use an Elite Series 2 in my left hand for movement, instead of a keyboard lol. (No I don't get assist)

I've tried a lot of mice, and I mostly stick with a Steelseries Rival (version doesnt really matter, as I'll explain in a moment) since I like the shape, they're light enough, and they're cheap as hell. (A wireless v3 is literally 35 bucks: https://steelseries.com/gaming-mice/rival-3?srsltid=AfmBOorw8W07l-lwIpDgqB2ZPC3AqWByfLdRegrBHMc2lKV0abVgA0lj ) When you buy a mouse, you're basically looking at only a few things: weight, shape, sensor, and wireless/wired. Sensors have been "solved" for a long while now. You're going to be hard pressed to find a sensor in a mouse from a major manufacturer that isn't functionally perfect at the speeds an actual human arm can whip it around. And wired/wireless is kind of a checkbox, as latency issues there are also basically solved across the board. So really you're almost entirely looking at shape/weight, which is a personal preference thing. Go find a store that sells a bunch and put your hand on them.

Besides the issues listed, I do like the Rival 3W. It could be taller, as my hand is decently big (idk measurements) but I am also not that bothered by it. I really, REALLY hate the Steelseries GG driver app and its shovel/spyware, but I have heard that the grass is not any greener elsewhere. I really don't care about branding at all, but when I look online I see 1,000 Chinese brands with 12 reviews and names I cant pronounce along side Razer, Corsair etc. Battery life is not a problem if the mouse is USB-C compatible, I just hate burning through 18 packs of AAA every few months. When it comes to mice, I am a huge normie. I am not good enough competitively at any game to care about a lot of features, except polling rate which should not be <1,000hz.

anything under 90 grams is perfectly fine unless you pure fingertip. shape matters but you don’t need a “perfect” shape, if it’s not uncomfortable you have no excuse to aim like shit literally anything post 3310 is perfectly fine, 1khz is perfectly fine, if you say you feel a huge difference you ARE schitzo lamzu thorn user btw swapped back to a rival 3 wireless recently and my aim was at the same level a couple of hours later.

My girlfriend recently took a liking to PC gaming, and while she has always been using mice with computers, it was never to play with, until now. Last week I loaned my spare mouse, which is a Steelseries Rival 3 wireless, which has much softer clicks than my main mouse at home (Pulsar X2 Medium) and she liked the shape and the fact it was much more ergonomics to hold than her office wireless mouse, however she complained multiple times about the clicks being too loud. That kind of took me by surprise, as I mentioned I feel like those clicks are already really soft compared to what I'm used to, so now I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to mice with really light clicks, it's been years since I've been in the hobby. If anyone has any ideas about mice with really soft clicks? In my head I was looking at Logitech because my last logitech mouse wasn't too loud, but that's really just a start and the market is so large now I don't know where to start.

If these two mice are your only choice get the rival 3 wireless gen 2 it has 2.4ghz and Bluetooth feature while the g305 only has 2.4ghz mode and also has a better battery life. The rival 3 gen 2 is bigger than the g305.
