Rival 500 so good, I really hope they make a new one eventually
r/pcmasterrace • Help for a mouse that fits my hand ->If you can find a SteelSeries Rival 500, that would be my suggestion. It's my daily driver still, and is pleasantly wide (just like me). They're not made new anymore, so this might be an eBay/secondary market find though.
r/pcmasterrace • Help for a mouse that fits my hand ->I have tried the mmo mice with 12 buttons on the side and really don't like them. After years going through wow Legendary mice I went rival 500 then it got discontinued. I have finally found a good replacement which is the turtle beach Kone XP air. It is a good mouse and I hope they make one with higher grade of plastic. If you get one, get the white one, better quality.
r/wow • Best mouse for WoW with side buttons? ->The king forever: Steelseries Rival 500 mouse. I bought my 2nd one for a pretty penny on ebay but nothing comes close to it. The fucking keypad on most "MMO" mice is fucking stupid. How do you not accidentally press a neighboring key with that mouse?
r/MouseReview • Which MMO mouse these days? Software being a factor. ->Steelseries Rival 500 had it for like 8 years but sadly was too worn down and starting to fail, but the ergonomics are so good for mmos because the different shape and position of the buttons makes It easier to remember which skill to use. https://preview.redd.it/8ejzqke1pjve1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7df31c2cccaad88e424d1b9db9bdd77bdb3f09ef
r/MMORPG • Decent MMO mouse? ->Also it has macros and vibration motor, so you can set it to vibrate like a console controller when a cooldown is over or stuff like that lol.
r/MMORPG • Decent MMO mouse? ->steel series rival 500 the side buttons inslde two triggle down, satisfying and 14 buttons
r/wow • Best mouse for WoW with side buttons? ->I was a long time g604 user, switched to SS Rival 500 which was amazing but also then discontinued. I am now using logi g502 SE and its the best that I could find for that task
r/wow • What MMO mouse would you Recommend for WoW? ->This is what I use, but mine is currently falling apart (literally) after 7-8 years or use. I fucking love this mouse, but my scroll wheel click is basically completely gone, and little bits of the mouse shell itself are starting to fall apart and break off. I’m sad this mouse isn’t still made :(
r/MMORPG • What MMO mouse do you use? ->SteelSeries Rival 500, was never a fan of those number row mmo mouses like the naga.
r/MMORPG • What MMO mouse do you use? ->Everybody go pester steelseries to bring back the rival 500. Best mouse ever
r/MMORPG • Decent MMO mouse? ->SteelSeries rivals, any model. I have a 7 year old rival 500 that is old and tired but still running and a 2-ish year old rival 700 that I’m very happy with.
r/buildapc • What are one of the best general purpose (mainly gaming) mouses? ->Steelseries rival 500. Extra buttons make this one a no brainer for a lot of games
r/playrust • To all the high hour players, what mouse you rocking? ->Steelseries Rival 500… buuuut too bad they discontinued it and replaced it with a Naga clone.
r/wow • Best mouse for WoW with side buttons? ->My husband and I also loved them. We went thru 2 each before they were discontinued and replaced it with the silver wireless version. Never had that one but my dad did and he loved it. I’ve been using the Steelseries Rival 500 for years and unfortunately, they discontinued that as well. I have a backup NIB I paid like $250 for on eBay maybe 1.5-2years ago. I truly hate the 12 button thumb jungle that everyone seems to make. :(
r/wow • I need a new MMO mouse. ->I wish I could recommend the Steelseries Rival 500, but they also discontinued that. And they replaced it with a Naga clone. So stupid and frustrating. I will be watching these comments for other recommendations as well. Thankfully, I have a rival 500 backup NIB that should get me quite a few more years before I have to make the swap. :(
r/wow • I need a new MMO mouse. ->Another vote for the Cataclysm mouse. My husband and I went thru 4 or 5 between us and they lasted forever. Steelseries second best mouse was the Rival 500 which they stupidly retired as well. It is what I am currently using and I have a new in box one waiting for whenever this one craps out. I wish Steelseries kept the unique MMO layouts as it set them apart from all the other company’s that use the 12 button thumb jungle like the Razer Naga…
r/wow • My wife was sharing some of the old peripherals her mom used while playing WoW and we found them online.. anyone else had/have these? ->Steelseries Rival 500. Bought it 8 years ago. Never found a mouse that can even compare to it. Unfortunately, it is discontinued. I have been looking for mice for the past 3 years (while simultaneously begging Steelseries to rerelease it in their feedback tab in the Steelseries engine), and have not found one i like nearly as much :(
r/pathofexile • What mouse do you PC guys use with PoE? ->I agree there are 100 mice that are light weight/1/2/0 buttons but everything over 2-3 is a 9+ grid which isn't very useful imo I miss my steel series rival 500 that was a dope mouse.
r/MouseReview • I believe this is the main reason mice like the G502 are as popular as they are; 2-3 more buttons than the standard lightweight gaming mouse ->I stopped playing for a while and bought the SteelSeries Rival 500 when I came back but wanted to restore the original one for a while. It has a special place in my heart!
r/wow • I Restored My 2009 World of Warcraft MMO Mouse ->Woah! So amazing... I had to learn some solder skills but have been able to fix the mouse so far without buying more parts than the wheel decoder on AliExpress. I have it inside its original box besides my pc right now and I'm using the Rival 500. It looks so pretty I haven't had the willpower to use it 😅😆
r/wow • I Restored My 2009 World of Warcraft MMO Mouse ->Yes it is! Do you recommend yours? My Rival 500 did not even last 5 years, one button is not working anymore
r/wow • I Restored My 2009 World of Warcraft MMO Mouse ->The [Steelseries Rival 500](https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Rival-15-Button-Programmable-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B01K3DM0WY) was vastly superior with its well thought out button placement around the thumb. A numpad for the thumb is bad UX imo. But it too has been cancelled without a valid replacement
r/pcmasterrace • How I Returned to PC Gaming with One Hand After My Stroke ->I loved my steel series rival 500 but it was breaking and the closest thing to the button layout I liked was ROG Spartha X
r/wow • Best mouse for WoW with side buttons? ->Steel series Rival 500, sadly no longer in production. Looking for recommendations for it's replacement
r/wow • Best mouse for WoW with side buttons? ->I've been using a 50ish dollar Logitech for over a year now and I have no complaints. Uses a single AA battery that I replace like every 6 months or something. It's a gaming mouse, has a bunch of buttons and dpi settings. Works great. Before that, I owned a steelseries rival series that cost over a hundred dollars. The only thing I liked better about it was that it was heavier and had weighted plates in it. But it was wired and I got tired of it as well.
r/buildapc • I'm looking for a gaming mouse under 100$ ->Have you looked into Logitech g502 series, or the razor Naga pro, that's about as big as they get. I'm 11cm by 21 , steel series rival is pretty big too that's what I have, it's got an on board chips to store macros right on the mouse. Also try a claw grip, helps alot with big hands.
r/pcmasterrace • Help for a mouse that fits my hand ->Damn dude your hands are massive, maybe even bigger than mine. Ill give you the list of all of the mice I've tried. 1. Steel Series Aerox 5 - probably my favorite but it is expensive, I don't particularly like the software, It had an issue where it would disconnect randomly sometimes, and after a few years the scroll wheel stopped working. But the weight and button configuration are what are great about this one. It also has a comfortable shape for big hands. 2. Pulsar xlite v4 large - great mouse, great shape, i can almost palm it, I can if im feeling lazy, wide enough for a comfy finger tip grip that large hands pretty much have to use. I wish it had more side buttons but this is my current mouse that i replaced the Aerox with and I love it. I whole heartedly recommend giving this one a try. It has a simple software that just does what its supposed to and nothing else. The software also doesnt need to be running all the time. 3. Mionix Naos Pro - its almost perfect, its almost what i want it to be. if it were just a little taller i would be able to palm it. I think its a solid choice for xxl hands but its just not quite there, the pulsar is far lighter and has a better shape for fingertip grip. 4. Steel series rival - solid, heavy, you can actually add weights to make it heavier. back when i used this i didnt think i would like a light mouse. over all a good mouse with a good shape for large hands. 5. Logi G604 - great mouse, i dont think they make them anymore so they are hard to find/expensive. Scroll wheel is great. Probably about as close to an mx master as your gonna get. Has the weird shape where it gets skinnier where the ring and pinky finger rest so you end up dragging or sticking out your pinky. Lots of thumb buttons, did i mention i like that. 6. Roccat kone xp air - weird shape, almost looks like a left handed mouse but its not. i really like the button configuration but the shape just makes it uncomfortable for the ring and pinky finger, side buttons arent worth an uncomfortable grip 7. Logi G900 - meh one of the first "large" mice i aquired. Its too narrow to be comfortable for xxl hands. 8. Logi G502 - dont listen to anyone who recommends this mouse, its actually not really any smaller than any of the other mice here but the button placement is verry uncomfortable for xxl large hands. I think that about covers it other than I use an mxMaster 3 at work. I would still like for these all to be a little bigger but gaming mice don't get any bigger than this that i have found. TLDR I RECCOMEND THE PULSAR XLITE V4 LARGE Edit - I've held some of the razers at the store and i didn't particularly care for them.
r/pcmasterrace • Help for a mouse that fits my hand ->My very first Steelseries mouse (Rival, over 10 years old) is still working flawlessly, while three new ones have broken since (all with faulty left mouse button). The rubber grip of all four also started dissolving after a few months.... so for me personally Steelseries sadly is no option no more. Logitech has better rubber grips and similar ergonomics but the same problem with faulty switches after \~1 year. For a few years now, I'm using G502 which I have to replace every year.... which sucks but the price is acceptable and I couldn't find anything better yet.
r/blackdesertonline • Which mouse do you use for BDO and what is your recommendation? ->Mentioned it here before: The biggest in game improvement came when I switched from an MX518 to the og Rival (inkl. cheating accusations). I wish SteelSeries would stop producing garbage and revive this shape with decent tech. Chasing this high ever since.
r/MouseReview • Best mouse you have ever used? ->Steelseries Rival, don’t worry. I’ll always love you, even if nobody else does, lmao.
r/pcmasterrace • The 25 most recommended gaming mouse according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jun 2025) ->I would never buy a hyperx mouse again. Mine was just crap. I lasted about 3 months before I swapped back to my ss rival.
r/cs2 • Which is the best for cs 2 ->>I keep breaking my Logitech G703 mice How are they breaking? That might be a good place to start, choosing something that is 'stronger' in the area they are breaking. I'm a bit surprised, as I have worn-through several mice (I'm a software developer and gamer, and use a mouse for hours every day for decades), but I have never had a mouse break, just worn out to the point that the finishes wear through or the clicker/scroll becomes intermittent. I have personally been happy with the SteelSeries Rival mouse I have been using for the last 7 years. I liked the Steelseries Sensei before that, but any soft-touch finish is not BIFL.
r/BuyItForLife • Looking for a sturdy long lasting gaming mouse ->Logitech mx518 then a steelseries rival
r/MouseReview • What was your first "official" gaming mouse? ->had to switch my rival for a g502 because the plastic on the side was eaten then after 2 monts or so i bought back the newer version of the rival
r/MouseReview • What was your first "official" gaming mouse? ->was that the one from steelseries? I had that mouse to! I now have the Aerox 9 mmo mouse...
r/wow • I Restored My 2009 World of Warcraft MMO Mouse ->I liked the mouse but the software was so infuriating and my settings/binds were constantly resetting. So I got the steelseries MMO mouse. Software is way better. I like the mouse a good deal. Only thing is I have small fingers so it took me some getting use to for a few of the buttons. The only negative reviews I saw were for people with the same issue.
r/wow • I need a new MMO mouse. ->I highly recommend the steelseries mmo mouse, the thumb buttons are in my opinion the best options and the grip/cooling means your don’t sweatily slide around which healing arena (the most sweaty of all wow play)
r/wow • What MMO mouse would you Recommend for WoW? ->I have been using an MMO mouse for longer than I can remember. My first one was a SteelSeries, since then I've been through a couple of Corsair Scimitars and Razer Nagas. I tried a Logitech G600 but it was AWFUL and I got rid of it asap. I also do not use a keyboard to play, I use a Razer Tartarus V2 keypad. Both the mouse and the keypad took me a few days to get a hang of, really it all depends on whether or not your keybinds are comfortable for the peripheral. If you are having a terrible time, rethink what you have bound and where. Practice. Hit the target dummy until it all comes naturally. I couldn't play this game without the MMO mouse or the keypad, but if despite practice you can't get into it, that's fine too. I probably would struggle to play with a controller if I had to switch to it now.
