Corsair RGB gaming mouse. I’m on my second one (I dropped the other one and broke a button) and I love it! It has 3 buttons you press with your thumb and two for you index finger, not including L and R, and two buttons below the scroller. All of these are programmable so you can assign whatever key you want them to be. It’s a great mouse. The only better one I’ve found is the Cataclysm gaming mouse. It was colored like Deathwing - it’s no longer available, unless you want to spend like $300+ on it, from resellers.

Current mice are all the same boring concepts; safe, but boring. Bring back fun mice and crazy shapes. I love stuff like the Redragon M908. Roccat Swarm randomly telling me I've clicked 1000 times and scaring the shit out of me? Bring it on! The Mad Catz Bat 6+ looks like an old school batmobile and I love it! I used to have a small collection of super gimmicky mice that I loved. Now it's like "well this one's .3mm taller and 2grams heavier." YAWN! Give me the old WoW Cataclysm SteelSeries MMO mouse with 3 different left and right clicks, a pinky rest, a ring finger button and 5 thumb buttons!

Thank you! I remember having one but couldn’t recall why I had stopped, your comment reminded me of the cord at usb being finicky if it wasn’t in just the right position. Great mouse before that point. Replaced with a Naga, and so began my Synapse headaches, I miss that Cata mouse.

The lower left was the WotLK Steelseries WoW mouse. I liked it, but there was some awkwardness. The Cataclysm edition was incredible, though, and myself and several friends swear by it being the best MMO mouse we’ve ever used. It didn’t have the odd button grid of “mmo” mice, but buttons that felt natural to click and flick. It was also massive, and we all had big hands that fit perfectly on the thing. I had two of them over the years, and Frankensteined them when they had both given out. In total, they lasted me about 9 years. They released other WoW mice, but they always tried to change up the placement of buttons and the shape. Nothing was ever quite as good as the Cataclysm mouse to me. After years of Nagas and G600s and other mice, I’ve arrived right back at Steelseries. I’m currently using the Aerox 9 WoW edition, and I like it better than all of those other grid based mice because the buttons are skewed instead of being a very uniform grid. My sister had the ZBoard. That thing was a mess. It was not a good keyboard at all. It still works, wherever it is. She retired it because it was trash.

I had this mouse in like 2010 or 11 it was that cataclysm edition. I used that brand of mouse for years, but the wheel click would always break on the thing, so I had to keep replacing it. Eventually, I switched to logitech G600 and I haven't had to replace it yet.

The SteelSeries WotLK mouse was poorly constructed. It typically didn’t last long and even if it did the paint wore off. My wife and I both had one and hers died before mine, mine barely made it through WotLK. I took a chance on their Cata mouse and I still have it. It still looks great, although the scroll mouse button doesn’t click anymore because of too much Valheim. The button placement and size (I have bigger hands) just feels so great, I’ve been thinking about trying to design and 3D print something similar.

I prefer the warcraft steel series mouse. After so much use, I'm going to need a replacement... I wish steel series would have released a 20th/30th anniversary mouse so I won't have to pay eBay prices for a new one.

The SteelSeries wow cataclysm mouse that looked like Deathwing. First introduced me to side buttons and now I cant have anything less than the Razer naga 12 side button layout because of how much you can do with it. Wish they made a lightweight moue with the 12 buttons in the same exact layout.

i had that headset (broke when i knocked it off my desk) the deathwing cata steelseries mouse (used it till the plastic was worn down to white from years of use best mouse i ever had really though currently using a redragon naga clone) god that keyboard was shiite but used it for a couple years, the concept was interesting but underutilised. the macro buttons for communications could be a lifesaver in bgs back in cata/mop

It's the Steelseries wow cataclysm mouse. Modeled after deathwing. Five buttons on thumb, one on right side and 5 on top on the left/right of the clicks, and a decent size one below the mouse wheel. It was fantastic and amazing, I've known anyone who didn't adore it. Thing was fat too, very ergonomic for my hand size

It was truly perfect. I don't understand why companies insist if the 3x4 grid for the thumb where people constantly press unintended buttons. Spread them all out and it's much more instinct than thought, which is ideal

Another vote for the Cataclysm mouse. My husband and I went thru 4 or 5 between us and they lasted forever. Steelseries second best mouse was the Rival 500 which they stupidly retired as well. It is what I am currently using and I have a new in box one waiting for whenever this one craps out. I wish Steelseries kept the unique MMO layouts as it set them apart from all the other company’s that use the 12 button thumb jungle like the Razer Naga…

I had every single one of these. The steelseries shift was the best keyboard I ever had. I loved that thing. The cataclysm mouse was super comfy, i had 3 of them. Scrollwheel was the first to break every time. The paint on the back also always flaked off after a while. I ditched it because of the scroll wheel issues. Miss it sometimes, it was really comfy.

I use a Red dragon wired mmo mouse aswell.  Quality is fine in price/balance.  Used to have a steelseries WoW (Deathwing look) mmo mouse before from cata to mid legion but mouse wheel broke some day(does Not work at All anymore just spin) ,then took a break from mid legion up to end s4 of dragonflight and had to buy a new mouse.  Chosed the Red dragon because i dont pay 100 bucks for a mouse .. paid 40 and it is a good choice for that

I used to use (and still have) better version of the mouse. Cataclysm WOW mmo mouse. Almost the best one I ever used. After nearly 2 years of use RMB died. It being still on warranty - which I claimed - so after sending it I got brand new one as replacement. After another 2 years of use, roll/MMB died. On top of paint and rubber parts coming off here and there. Both main buttons also were wonky. Now it sits in the box, a memento of sorts.

I have very large hands. I used to have the WoW cataclysm mouse, still the best mouse I’ve ever had. Nothing compares to the size and comfort of that. Sadly it’s impossible to find a new one where I live, and the few second-hand ones are ridiculously expensive. So also using the scimitar now, great mouse too

Hands down the best wow mouse i've ever used and was still using it until a couple years ago until it finally let out its last breath (the button positions, weight and shape were amazing - that pinky button for map was , never found anything quite like it tbh. Missing the GOAT imo. Have had: Intellimouse v3 Razer Habu Razer Lachesis Random weird cheap one Logitech MX600 Other weird cheap one Steelseries Wow mouse 1 & 2. Logitech G700, G700s, G700s (previous GOAT imo) Logitech G502's (a good few) Roccat Kone XP Roccat Kone XP is THE absolute greatest mouse that's ever existed. It's Roccat's "Swan Song". The last mouse made under their brand before Turtle Beach fully absorbed them and the Roccat branding pretty much disappeared. It's absolutely the best thing ever created as a mouse. Even the "gimmicky" thumb "shift switch" is perfectly placed/balanced to double up keys available. Uses optical switches so there's none of the "logitech/omron microswitch plate inside fades with time" issues. The G502 is a VERY VERY good mouse. The Kone XP is absolutely better in every meaningful way. Still exists, now under turtle beach branding. TB absolutely suck donkey balls, I'd buy a TB branded one if either of the Kone XP's I have died. It's light, a TINY bit wider than the G502, similar weight/size/shape otherwise. It being Roccat, I think most folks missed it. They had typical German levels of good engineering, their software was terrible. TB coming in sorted the software. If they haven't messed with/cheapened the internals, still utterly peerless imo.

I remember getting a, can't remember if it was the one in the picture, WoW skinned, Steelseries mouse and it was a terrible experience. Got it home, installed the software, said yes to the updates, had to say yes to a firmware update and then it wouldn't connect back to the computer. Had an argument with their support because I didn't want to try and fix a brand new, self bricking piece of kit and eventually got a refund. Fuck them guys

I have tried the ones with all of the buttons on the thumb, but I just don't have small or agile enough thumbs to make it work, I don't know what the hell I will do when it is no longer possible to replace them.

I have been using an MMO mouse for longer than I can remember. My first one was a SteelSeries, since then I've been through a couple of Corsair Scimitars and Razer Nagas. I tried a Logitech G600 but it was AWFUL and I got rid of it asap. I also do not use a keyboard to play, I use a Razer Tartarus V2 keypad. Both the mouse and the keypad took me a few days to get a hang of, really it all depends on whether or not your keybinds are comfortable for the peripheral. If you are having a terrible time, rethink what you have bound and where. Practice. Hit the target dummy until it all comes naturally. I couldn't play this game without the MMO mouse or the keypad, but if despite practice you can't get into it, that's fine too. I probably would struggle to play with a controller if I had to switch to it now.
