Based on 1 year's data from Feb 25, 2026 How it works
Fav two are Zowie U2-DW: plug and play, amazing shape, great coating, great clicks. If I had to nitpick the weight could be lower and the scroll wheel. VGN Y2 Ultra: bought this mouse to try a mouse shape similar to Vaxee NP01 (due to Vaxee price and price of shipping one to Canada). Very pleased with the shape, no creaks in my copy, great clicks. My only con with the Y2 Ultra would be the provided cable isnt flexible, but I have my own flexible cable to use for charging.
Another mouse where there's like 4 different variations of the same model, idk if this is a good thing for any brand/s. This Y2 is the $85(i got it for $48 on AliExpress) Ultra in 44g with a 3950 and 8K polling and a Nordic 52840 MCU. ***my use case scenario -*** 10 hours + usage a day Hand size - 21 x 12 Temp - 90sF(32\*C) Humidity - 60% indoors(80% outside) Sweaty fingertips clammy hand Soft relaxed claw grip ***Shape & Size*** This is a 3% bigger NP-01s, 2mm wider, taller and overall more bulbous. The NP-01s was not a shape I gravitate towards so the Y2 still didn't appeal to me much. It felt great in the hand and I can see many people liking this shape. But for me it was neither here nor there, asym in the front and ergo-ish at the back. For my hand I feel like this is a little on the smaller side and for this reason I'd only recommend it to med to small hands ***Build Quality*** Overall very solid, if you know Scyrox F1 Inca Paro R1 Rro you get the gist. Everything lines up and nothing that is beyond ordinary comparable to other 44g mice. ***Coating*** Works as intended but nothing spectacular, I'd say it's on par with other regular grippy coatings like Scyrox. ***Buttons*** The main switches are Omron Opticals rated to 100M clicks. these are of course the most coveted optical switches in 2025 high performance mice. It feels great and exactly like an ATK or Scyrox or Mad R with Omron opticals. I have a feeling this Omron switches proliferation is reaching a tipping point and soon brands will be moving away from these switches or go back to Huanos. ***Feet*** Surprisingly the Y2 uses a different quality of PTFE feet compared to the also newly released F2 or any of their sub branded mice like the R1s or ATKs. They work great and there's no need to have them replaced. ***Value & Performance*** VGN mice are on the par with Lamzu/Scyrox/MadR build quality, that's to say they are as good as they can be for a 45g mouse. There's no structural or integrity issues and everything is anchored down securely and there's very low tolerances in the gaps and fitment. As for value I feel it's on the expensive side for a VGN branded mouse but I get that it's catered to the Vaxee crowd that's probably willing to pay a little more for that NP01s experience I suppose. For $89 or $99 I think I'd rather save up for the real deal Vaxee NP01s or NP 01s ergo. If you can get it for $55 from AliExpress, I think that's a fantastic deal. I also made a video [here](https://youtu.be/Z2EaUzOoONY?si=Kxdwg-M5SRTYFPiv&t=216). Say hello in the chat :)
it's ok wouldn't give it more than an 8/10
Mine never reports the battery life, permanently says 100% in VGN HUB no matter what. I just make sure to plug it in more regularly so it doesn't surprisingly run out of battery, no complaints otherwise. Only LED that could indicate low battery is on the bottom of the mouse and also never does that I've noticed.
I did message them, they said they don't know anything about it and gave me the firmware to reflash which didn't help. Also they said they don't support products bought from AliExpress etc, so I'd have to deal with Ali and the seller for a replacement I guess, which with my luck would somehow have something else wrong with it. So I guess I just live with making sure I always have this one kinda charged idk. But yea idk what is even wrong to be causing this
Vgn y2 is not exactly an np-01s clone, it's more like an np-01s with an np-01 hump
If I could throw my hat in there with a few suggestions. ATK A9 is a solid competitor but more accurate to the Superlight than thechose A7. Mchose L7 and L7+ are incredibly solid for the price. Both Scyrox mice are extremely solid being a Sora V2 and a HTS+ clone. Lethal LA-1 is an incredibly solid original shape who's price kept lowering due to a small flex issue and to compete with other cheap mice, it's an incredible mouse for the price. VGY Y2 is a NP-01s clone and is super solid build quality and lighter weight for a fraction the price of the original
Currently the L7+ is pretty much perfect. It's a Sora V1 clone but it's nailing my grip style and feel. Ideally i've learned the U2 curves on the right side, with a flatter left side, not ergo flat, but more akin to just something like the TenZ, or Viper V3 or something, small curves but mostly straight, so more like the NP-01s on the right, but a harsh thumb curve on the left. Ideally under 50g, but a 3395 or 3950 don't make me no different. The VGN Y2 honestly tempts me as it seems to fit everything i'm wanting but currently i'm perfectly happy with the L7+. I haven't tried an ATK F1 or Hitscan Hyperlight it's stolen design from, but i've tried many with that Viper Mini style hourglass shape and while it works, it's just not quite for me.
My copy paste list * Incott Ghero Pro: Solid Mouse that feels like a GPX Ergo (or NP-01 Clone) and is extremely solidly build while staying price wise at 50$ * VGN Dragonfly F1: Solid orignial shape with a larger rear hump on the end that curves more inwards before coming out at the front, very safe shape at 46$ * Hitscan Hyperlight: Solid middle hump with great curves keeping it solidly usable for any and all grip styles. One of the best on market at 80$ * ATK Blazing Sky F1: Stolen variation of an earlier model of The Hitscan it's got a much larger mid hump with substantial curves as it comes into the front while going thinner towards it with lowered clicks. Is 38g and has a 3950 sensor but is usually a full 70$ * Darmoshark M3S: Solid Viper styled shape with those same bell curves, usually around 40$ * Zaopin Z2: Solid ergo light with a much smaller ergo feel yet still has a nice rounded bump and curve to it for the ergo feel at 50$ * Endgame Gear OP1 Wired: This is what a lot of mice are based on as EGG has some of the better mice on market in terms of quality and built and software. It's one of the best mice you can buy. It is wired but if you don't care about 4k or 8k it's perfectly fine at 45$ * VXE R1: Nearly identical to the Pulsar X2V2 it's got a super solid feel and the pro model has a better coating and overall well implemented sensor. Considered the king of the budgets it's 50$ for the Pro and as low as 20$ for not pro. * VXE Mad R: Identical to the mouse above in shape its another X2V2 clone perfect at 38g great for all grip styles, the Major verision has a 3950 sensor and is 45$ for normal, 63$ for Major, if you can grab this over the normal R1. * Incott HPC02M: is a X2 clone with supersolid build quality and the ability to swap the switches with ease. 55$ * Incott G23: GPX clone with hotswappable switches at 50$ * Scyrox V8: Sora V2 clone at 38g with a 3950 built for claw, can be found for 70$ * ATK Blazing Sky X1: Viper V3 clone with 3950 and solid build quality right at the 70$ price range. * Incott G24: Zowie EC2 Clone that's hotswap and solid weight can be found for 70$ * Mchose L7: 38g with a shape somewhere between the Lamzu Atlantis and X2V2. It has flatter sides but still a larger rear curve to lock in slightly better than something like the Mad R while still feeling very premium. Basic model has 3395 for 45$ and pro is closer to 60$ for 3950. * Lethal LA-1: Basically a larger OP1. Same kind of curves but a larger overall feel, due to having some very small issues with the batch and to compete with budget mice it can now be found for 30$. * Scyrox V6: Very Solid HTS+ clone both at around 40g with full 8k and solid internals, with a splid rear hump and hourglass greay for all grip types. Very good overall and some of the best budget out there. 70$ * Attackshark R6: Same shape and weight and sensor as the Scyrox V8 and Sora V2 and the only real mouse from Attackshark I reccomend for 55$ * ATK A9: Best Superlight clone on market feels extremely good in hand can be found for as low as 20$ but I reccomend at least getting the Plus for a 3395 and coating at 30$, if you go beyond that it can be a very good exact GPX clone with 8k polling. * Mchose M7: Zowie U2 clone very solidly built great for claw with a larger rear hump can be found for 50$ * Ipi Float: traditional hourglass shape much akin to a finalmouse on a budget, solo for roughly 60$ * ATK U2: A zowie U2 clone that's extremely accurate and feels good in the hand massive changes for a class shake with a large rear hump. * VGN Y2: NP-01s come that's very solid, good ergo shape that's in-between a full ergo and a symmetrical one. * Ajazz: the entire company makes a massive variety of shapes. While their quality is by no means the best they have a varied amount of shapes with considering all at budget prices just try to get a 3395 model and don't expect a coating. For all ATK or VXE always try to at minimum get ones with a coating and 3395 sensor. If you can't tell which model had that check their list they always have in their websites. It should be a big box of all their model differences.
