"Hope I still have mine, I should've kept it. ... Turns out I still have my old MX518 mouse. ... You can replace the cord?? ... Was it easy to replace the cord and at low cost?"

"I use the two side buttons as an extra ctrl and alt if my hand needs more focus on the WeSAD movement."
"If the game has all the handy stuff in a 15 key 1-5 c1-5 a1-5 then maybe I'll bind it to 9 and 0 for ultimates or movements or things I wouldn't use reguarly but still need a key for."

MX518 1st gen is the greatest mouse of all time.
Mx518 ranked supreme. 502 is great, but 518 is the goat
21.5 x 12.5 hand here. I tried all the big mouse on market. I'm competitive palyer and top kovaak aimer mouse is important to me. My main were: Model D, O, Deathadder V2, V3, and Beast X Max - biggest version. From cheaper Chinese: Darmoshark M3 pro, this is 130mm, so biggest so far. And now I'm maining Mchose A7, Rawm leviathan V4, ATK A9 air. I tired all previously, intelimouse,mx518, sabre (this is big mouse, with big hump), you can see other in my name tag. If u want ergo: best is deathadder V4 (V3 if u want cheaper) I u want Ambi: cheaper: mchose A7, Darmoshark M3 pro, leviathan V4. Expensive: Viper v3 pro,
My MX518 turned 19 this past December.
My mx518 was the best thing ever. Lasted a solid 12 years. Upgraded to the g502. I love the scroll lock, but I prefer the rubberised grip to the 518 scroll wheel over the plasticy wheel on the 502. It wears down strangly and leaves sharp edges Overall though the 502 is the best
My MX518 wonders who all these young upstart mice think they are. (Though I do miss my trackman marble FX)
Got one a couple years back for my XP rig, it's the bullet hole looking version and I have the matching G15 with the orange screen. Only issues are with the top buttons and scroll wheel feeling mushy, probably a good cleaning would do the trick.
Same, I've had my Logitech MX518 for 15 years. Still going strong, good as new. I also have worked from home for the past 6 years so it's been used around 8 hours a day mon-fri in that period of time.
This shape is so good I got myself a MX 518 Legendary in 2019 and still have it.
It is absolutely 1000% not this one unfortunately. My one started having really wonky signals on the left mouse click after only 2 years or so. Basically it registers sometimes, when you hold the click it will go on and off (for example when you drag a box), sometimes it doesn't click at all. I've opened it and cleaned it and sometimes that helped a little bit and then it comes back again. I was so frustrated. By comparison the MX518 that I had since something like 7 years before that *still works incredible right now*. It is now something like 13 years old and it still works like a champion. But it is of course limited. I use it as a spare for my laptop. The real winner is the Logitech MX Master 3S, it's such a sweet mouse. I haven't had a wireless mouse before, I didn't know what I was missing. The shape of this one is nice, it is like semi ergonomic, the buttons are *dead silent* (I really didn't like how loud the 518 was and the 502 is even louder), the scroll wheel turns in increments and automatically rolls fast when you spin it fast enough, it's got the two buttons and a horizontal scroll wheel (502 obviously has more buttons). It is just so good all around. I really hope the battery holds up, that's my only worry to its longetivity.
