I connected Beats Solo 4 to my TV via Bluetooth and it works with PS5 like a charm. People focus too much on headphones <> PS5 connection, when headphones <> TV is so much easier and no dongles needed if your TV is no more than 5 yo.
Lots of wireless headphones have the option of a wired connection. My everyday headphones, Beats Solo 4, have this.
I run A LOT myself. I would say headphones that work great for running/activity may not work great for podcasting. The jaw motion of talking is very different then the impact of running, so it causes headphones to actually move more in my experience. For running, I used Beats Solo Buds and then got cheap inner ear coverings on Amazon so they stay in my ear (I sweat a lot so the ear buds pop out easily), this helped for the podcast as well, but I was having to mess with them way too much during records becuase they kept shifting while talking; for that reason, I no longer use them for my podcast. I now use the Beats Solo 4 while podcasting. They are 100% less distracting for me while talking. I have long hair so if I wear it down, I will find myself adjusting that, but it's simply because it can make my hair look odd in the recording, nothing functionally wrong with the headphones.
Yes, I have beats solo 4 in blue and I love them. Easy to wear, easy to charge, keeps a charge, I'm getting hard of hearing so they have been great for watching shows, listening to music and calls.
I have them both, from different sales and because I wanted headphones for work and for home. I actually can’t tell the difference in sound or fit. They both have great sound and excellent noise cancellation. They are comfortable for hours and hours. I don’t like earbuds because they hurt after a short period of time. I’m sorry I can’t really help a lot, but you really can’t go wrong with either one. I have a bit of tinnitus, and I’m sure there are others who think one has better sound than the other, but they really sound the same to me. The battery life is great on both.
I walk to work and most other places so I use my headphones a lot. I have Icon Wireless that’s about 5 years old and really needs to be replaced, they just have multiple issues and have served their time. I’ve been happy with these, but the bass is really lacking. Before that I had some old school Beats that I really liked, but they were too bulky. I just bought Beats Solo 4 and I’m sending them back. They’re super tinny and have no depth. They sound horrible. It’s almost painful to listen to. What I need is: \- On ear. I have issues with my ears and can’t put things inside them. I haven’t really liked headphones that clip onto the ear in any way in the past. \- Good enough sound quality, especially at lower volumes, like preferably a little better than Icon. I like hard rock and metal music and would like to hear more bass. \- Not huge. Beats is my limit for size. I really like the size and shape of Icon. \- Not noise canceling. Big issue I noticed trying out the Beats is that they were too good at blocking noise. I am constantly walking in an area that has a lot of car and foot traffic. I need to be able to hear my surroundings a bit. Icon again was just about perfect for me for this, it reduces road noise and such but I can still hear if something is going on that I might not want to walk into. \- I will go up to $200 to get exactly what I want but much less if I’m not getting a clear sound improvement from what I have. Could anyone point me in the right direction? Online shopping is making it really hard to pick something. Update: I ended up trying Skullcandy Crusher EVO and I like these. The bass is adjustable so I can turn it up when I listen to metalcore or hip hop and down when I listen to rock and folk. They are perfect for music that requires the bass but the mid and high range is nice and clear. They don’t have ANC which is a plus for me. I never will use noise cancelling. I looked into some of the headphones here and it helped me realize some things that are important to me: durability, good battery life, no fussy modifications or apps, not flashy enough to draw attention, sounds good at low volumes. This led me back to Skullcandy which has been consistent in those areas from my experience. I would have preferred smaller headphones but the Crusher is actually very similar in sound quality to my OG Beats, and meets all my other requirements except size. Plus they were only $75. Thanks for all your help! I might not have ultimately bought any of the suggestions but looking through them all helped me pick out something that works for me.
