Not many as expensive. Some Abyss and Stax. Some mid price ones. I own both Beyerdynamic Amiron Home and HifiMan Sundara closed back.
I have the Amiron Home and like them but I still haven't heard the dt1990. They're supposed to very similar.
I really like my Beyerdynamic Amiron Home. They’re genuinely very comfortable to wear. The big problem is that I live in an area where it’s hard to go to stores and try gear in person. That makes things difficult, because compared to popular models like the HD600, there’s very little discussion about what DAC/amp pairs well with the Amiron Home. I’ve been considering the Topping DX5 II, but I’m not sure if it’s a good match. That said, I’ve been using these headphones for four years now, and I’m thinking it might be time for an upgrade. This time, I’ll probably choose a model that has more community discussion and pairing information available.
If you're willing to spend a bit more then the Hifiman Arya Stealth is insanely good. It's one of the best price to performance headphones around. I can't vouch for the Sound blaster Z SE as I've never used it. I assume it can output some power. I've tried an insane number of headphones ranging from ££ cheap to ££££ idiotic prices. Arya Stealth is my top choice for gaming. If you want to save some money Hifiman Edition XS is very good (get a Custom Cans comfort strap for it though). Not as good as the Arya. The Sennheiser HD490 is bassy with the right earpads (it comes with two pairs, one is bassy). Personally for gaming I'd take the Philips X2HR over the HD490. Better soundstage and the HD490 is overpriced (I have a pair, they're not as good as cheaper headphones. The X2HR is average for music but excellent for cinematic gaming. Years ago I used the Beyerdynamic Amiron Home. Great fun for gaming and one of the most melt on your head comfortable headphones around. But not worth buying new unless they're very cheap, I personally would go over £200 for new or used. If you have or are willing to spend on Amazon Prime for a month, then Amazon is a superb way of trying out most of the above, or one of the many other excellent suggestions people have made. The 30 day return policy is ideal. Just make sure it's sold and dispatched by Amazon, or at the very least dispatched by Amazon. If I'm trying headphones from there, I try to use Amazon Warehouse (now called resale I think). So I'm not abusing the returns for new items.
Best headphones tend not to be the best musical headphones Things you want in a competitive headphones wont always be musical There are headphones that do both well but not without compromise Audio technica ad series or r series Better dynamic dt 880 or greater series Sennheiser hd 5xx series or greater
beyerdynamic 80 vs 250 ohm, I have tried a few different sets but I keep going back to these basic wired ones with an amp/dac they sound fantastic
250-ohm won't work for DJing anywhere outside of a silent bedroom. I produce and DJ. I use Beyerdynamic 250-ohms for studio work, Pioneer C70s (basically their attempt at the HD25) for DJ work.
