beyerdynamic makes a couple good models for gamers, the mmx 200 wireless and the mmx 300 pro wired. it's an actual audio brand that isn't about marketing or flashy design or rgb

If you want the Best Gaming Headphones you would want Headphones with an immersive soundstage experience. Open Backs are the best performers for this purpose. if you’re playing single player or FPS competitive games it heavily benefits from that, because the directional sound cues shine really well. The Endgame of immersion would be the Sennheiser HD800 S’s though they are very expensive in the $2k price point it’s audiophile level for what it gives you. I use the HD 490 Pro’s for Gaming & Musicality and they’re incredible. The Maxwells have fantastic sound reproduction & clarity though I wouldn’t compare them against the HD 490 Pro’s because the sound signature wouldn’t be as noticeable to my ears against Open Backs & Planar’s. the thing with  Open Backs is it kinda wrap’s around your Ear Drums adding to that depth of imaging which I really enjoy. You can’t go wrong with Closed Backs either they isolate you completely adding detailed clarity & crisp high’s. Anyways I’ll list a few Closed or Open Backs Options  1. Audeze Maxwell: $300 Closed Back Planar Magnetic Wireless Gaming Headphones with Dedicated Microphone 2. Sennheiser Pc38x: $197 Wired Closed Back Gaming Headphones with Dedicated Microphone. 3. ATH-r50x $169 Open Back Studio Headphones 4. Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X Studio Headphones. or  5. Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro Closed Back Gaming Headphones with dedicated Microphone.

Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro would be my top recommendation, I cannot recommend it enough. MMX 300 pro if you *really* need closed back but I would really suggest open back. I've tried a few of Sennheisers best reviewed headsets over the years, including the Game One, the Drop PC38X, the GSP 600, and at least 20 of their headphones. They are fantastic in their own right but I seriously think Beyerdynamic headphones on average sound noticeably better and more neutral.

Don’t go for the cheapest or you will probably buy twice. Save up a bit and go for something midrange :) I have a BeyerDynamics MMX 300

I've been enjoying the Beyerdynamic MMX300 for over a year now. I like the bass, clarity, and the ruggedness (I don't 'baby' it). I've researched its pros and cons before pulling the trigger. I use it mostly attached to macbook pro--listening to spotify or watching movies. BUT like many of you, I also spend an inordinate amount of time on conference calls and sometimes prefer using the MMX300 as well for this purpose, over my Jabra. I like the clarity of the Beyerdynamic better. That said, there are times when I feel like I’m already speaking too loudly into the mic—partly of the heat of the discussion, but also because I can’t hear myself speaking. I’m now on the hunt for a simple AMP with direct monitoring—like when I see podcasters (and their guests) with BeyerdynamicDT770 cans, and they can hear both ways. I’ve searched the subreddit (capped myself at 2 hours of reading, MAX $100 budget, to avoid going down another rabbit hole). Recos aren’t unanimous. The Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen was mentioned—it has the direct monitoring switch I like, goes for $105 on Amazon—but I’m unsure about the mic port (looking at the amp’s pictures). Also, I’ve read mixed comments about the sound quality it delivers (?). For reference: the MMX300 comes with a cable that splits into mic and headphone jacks (both 3.5mm, I believe). I don’t want to buy any extra dongle or cable just to adapt to an amp. I don’t mind a Chinese brand—just need the direct monitoring switch and decent sound quality (since I’ll already be connecting to an amp). The MMX300 is 48 ohms according to the spec sheet. I only have one DAC-AMP today--AIYIMA Audio DAC-A2 PRO Gaming Decoder--which I use for another setup (in a separate house) driving a HIFIMAN.

I love my beyerdynmic MMX 300. I can replace most stuff (cushions, headrest, cable, microphone) myself and could never go back to anything else. I just hope that under the new owners it will not change much, because at some point I might want to buy a new one.
