I use the Bose quiet comfort 3 and attached an antlion microphone to it. It’s great because it’s magnetic, so I just take it off when I’m done at home and take it with me if I’d like to bring some headphones

I remember yodobashi in Japan where they have tons of headphones you can even the top shelf ones. To be honest at certain price point i cannot distinguish anymore. I just remember the sony xms and bose quiet comfort’s anc is noticeably better that other brands. It was in a public place so you could really try the anc.

r/headphones • Went to a headphone enthusiastic store, tried over 20 headphones. 19 can't find any differences besides sounds more clear. Only 1 I actually like, extremely underwhelming experience :( Was my expectation too high? ->

They're expensive, but the in-ear Bose QuietComfort headphones are great. I've had the wired ones for a few years now, and I take them everywhere with me. I believe they've been replaced by wireless Bluetooth ones in their product line now.

I have a very old wired QC and the newest version of Bluetooth QC...yeah the new one is better, but it's like a decade apart in technology. So to me it's not mind blowing. I will say bass is where the new one is much better. Sound quality was improved a lot more than ANC. But I don't have the Ultra and I'm so curious about that sound immersion.

The noise cancellation with the immersion mode is in a different ball game. I still have my old QC and the noise cancellation that I used to think was awesome now feels like a cheap headphone.

I have APMs and not even the highest Bose, but Bose QC (Not the most recent). I haven’t done a ton of testing but I think it is plain the APM’s sound better. I don’t care - I use the APM’s only when sitting stationary and watching TV under circumstances where the house needs to be quiet. They routinely disconnect if I make the mistake of brushing my head against the sofa. Sometimes the crown works for volume; sometimes it doesn’t. It doesn’t matter how good they sound when they work if they basically don’t work. I brought them to the Genius Bar, they sent it out for “repair”, it bounced back immediately stating they could find nothing wrong. This is just how it works. I traveled with the APM’s once. They are heavy and big and I had to carabiner them to the outside of my carryon to fit anything else in it. In the small airplane seat, they disconnected every few minutes. A pillow touching them - oops! Then I got the Bose. They are super light. They fold up into a small nearly flat case. They never ever disconnect. I think we have a winner.

same. Ive replaced the cushions twice, and they are still powering along just fine. If they were bluetooth, I honestly would not look to upgrade. Alas, Im tired of wires.

I’m super pleased with them! Definitely one of the best splurges I’ve done for myself in a while. It is the best thing ever to put them on and shut myself out at the gym after already being overstimulated from a long day at work. The noise cancelling is amazing and I sometimes find myself just zoning out and even forgetting that there are other people around me lol. It is not until someone is standing right in front of me trying to talk to me that I snap out of it. You download an app with the headphones where you can customize how much of an noise cancelling effect you want, or if you’d like it to be ”aware” (you hear even more of what is going on around you). You can also customize the amount of bass, etc… in the music you’re playing. The sound in them is, in my opinion, really good and I like to just walk around with the headphones for daily use. They’ve got a button on the side if you quickly wanna be able to turn off the noise cancelling, and in the app you can choose what you want a long press to result in. I have it as pause/continue playing music. The other side of the headphones has got volume up/down buttons. The battery time is really good and I rarely ever charge them, when I do charge them, they charge fast. :) I got a great example the other day of how good the noise cancelling actually is. I went outdoors cycling with them on and about 20 minutes in when I got to a crowded area I took them off for my own safety. I was SHOCKED by how much noise there was! Edit: I specifically bought these for the noise cancelling, so if you’re looking for headphones with better sound quality there probably are better ones on the market. But I’m super pleased with the sound quality.

NC700 are pretty light headphones (around 254 grams) so this surprises me a bit. The XM6 weight about the same, the QC a bit less and the really good ones I have (Bathys/Px8) and the Px7s3 a lot more. Would look at the XM6 which has a phenomenal microphone and ANC solid (if a bit bass forward) sound (EQ helps) and pretty comfortable although I don't like the shallow earpads. The Bose QC Ultra and QC are also right around the XM6 and NC700 in weight but may feel more comfortable for you as they don't use the same headband.

Bose quiet comfort are my fave but are expensive. There was a cheaper brand from Amazon I used to use before I got my current set. I wear them every day
