The Waza Air's are awesome if you haven't tried them. It's a whole wireless system and a bit costly but really amazing. I prefer the sound through the headphones vs my amp, so I actually never play through the amp anymore.
I have a set of Waza-Airs. The reason I’ve essentially stopped using them is that, as they are close-backed headphones, the air-pressure build-up on the ear drums becomes annoying and almost painful over the course of extended practice session. They can also get rather hot. They are also heavy. I switched to open-back headphones, and they are so much more comfortable: light, almost no heat build-up, and none of the air-pressure issue. Also, way less expensive. The Wazas have some cool aspects to them, no doubt, but the day-to-day practical frustrations listed above far outweigh the convenience of the wireless bonus, in my experience.
The neo is much newer tech. It's also a headphone amp as opposed to listening to an amp through headphones. IMO the Neo is one of those rare items that is worth more than the cost. I had Waza Airs and don't miss them. I would say go for it.
I use the Boss Waza air wireless headphones. You dont need an amplifier. They have built in amplifier.presets for different genres and tones and you can create yoir own. They are pricy, but isnt your husband worth it? You plug the transmitter into your guitar, put on the headphones and you are good to go. They have a separate Bluetooth channel to play along with recordings or backing tracks. They are at their best when you are on your feet moving around your jam space. Stadium mode gives you a luve effect. https://www.boss.info/global/products/waza-air/
Mustang Micro Plus is great lots of tones in that thing including a bunch of British amps if that’s your thing. I tried the Vox Amplugs as well but the plastic housing around the jack tends to break and take the wiring with it, can be fixed with solder but it’s a real “get what you pay for”. I imagine the Boss Katana Waza Air headphones are also very good. Also worth mentioning are the Quilter Superblocks — they rule and you can use them with a cab and they’re giggable at 25 tube watt equivalent (plus they sound like a tube amp because Pat Quilter is a genius).
I appreciate the question as I love the Waxa Air and have used them for 6 years since my first kid was born. Battery life isn’t as good as it used to be and I would like a second pair honestly.
