Corsair HS 80 has the best microphone I've ever heard on a headset. It matches normal usb mics. However, DO NOT GET THE HS 80 MAX! They used the high bandwidth on the audio rather than the mic on the new hs 80 max. The hs 80 max has a terrible mic due to the reduction in bandwidth.

r/buildapc • Best headset with a good mic? ->I am using the Corsair hs 80 max and after 6 hours I still don't feel them in my head
r/HeadphoneAdvice • Most comfortable headphones for gaming long hours? ->I am having a bit of a consumer crisis. Back at the start of 2020, I purchased Corsair's Void Pro Wireless. They did fine as my first real headset, but were even better after a friend showed me how to actually enable surround sound. I hadn't known the difference and was using stereo for months. I could finally hear where the footsteps were coming from in my games. 5 years later and they have finally worn out. I likely overcharged the battery too much and now they only last an hour or two before needing to be plugged in. So months back I was purchasing some new peripherals, and that included the Corsair HS80 Max Wireless, which also happened to be discounted because of it being from their "Revival" refurbishment series. It came in, I set it up with Dolby Access and everything. The sound was like listening through tin cans no matter what I did. So I refunded it and ultimately procrastinated on finding a new pair and just played with my Void Pros plugged in. I finally started searching around and researching new headphones. I expanded my budget and went as far as making a spreadsheet for prices and specs to find the best model for the price. The issue I ran into however is that I was finding issues on all of them. Like the HyperX Max's having ridiculous latency once messing with the EQ settings. Then Steelseries models having bad build quality. Sennheiser not having a good wireless option. I gave up and went back to Corsair. I figured maybe the problem was that I got a pair of refurbished headphones. So I saw that the typically $330 pair of Virtuoso Max's was on sale for $200. I was told it would be a steal at that price. I got them, messed with Dolby Access again and the EQ and while they are certainly better than the HS80 Max, the audio is no where close to what the Void Pro is. The Void Pro isn't being manufactured anymore, so I can't just buy a new pair. I'm unsure if the quality is just not where it used to be with this brand, or if Dolby Access is the problem, or some other setting I am missing. I quickly swapped back and forth listening to the same audio from my computer to see if it was just placebo but nope! With the Void Pro headset it sounds way more immersive, like I am actually there. Whereas with the Virtuoso headset it is very obviously speaker audio. Using Dolby Access definitely lets me improve the audio but it just isn't where I want it to be. There is no surround sound option in iCue with this headset like my Void Pro has. I have to use Dolby Access and I have a feeling that may not even be the problem. I have tried multiple different EQ configurations but nothing fixes the problem of how flat it feels in comparison. I have read that maybe they just need to play audio long enough to sort of be "broken in"? Should I just wait? It's hard to describe just how big of a difference there is between the two headsets but for what is usually $330 dollars at full price should not sound worse than a headset I paid roughly $100 for back in 2020. Any help would be appreciated. I am not the most knowledgeable with this stuff. Using the wireless dongle. Plugged in sounds the same.
r/headphones • r/headphones Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk ->I will always stand by the Corsair HS80 Max. Been using it for around two years and it's just fantastic. Super comfortable, big and detailed sound, range for ages, decent mic and also has bluetooth.
r/gamingsetups • What gaming headphones are the best for pc. ->For gaming I use the Corsair HS 80 Max and I absolutely love them. Clear audio and a pretty decent microphone, which also is an important factor, when it comes to Multiplayer gaming.
r/ArcRaiders • Headphones Raccomendation for the best Arc Raiders experience ->Bought a Corsair HS 80 Max and I really like it. Comfy, sound is good, mic is good and it's wireless, which I never want to miss again.
r/ArcRaiders • Thinking about getting a new headset for this game. Suggestions? ->I am on my second pair of Corsair hs80 wireless. Best headset I have ever used and they sound incredible
r/buildapc • What is the best wireless gaming headset for a 14 year old for his birthday next week? ->I really like my corsair hs80. Dolby atmos is impressive.
r/buildapc • The Best Gaming Headset to Buy Now? ->I use a Corsair HS80, when combined with Dolby headphones it gives a decent spacial awareness. The HS80 comes with a Dolby Headphones license.
r/simracing • Reliable good headphones for sim racing out there ? (preferably with no software) *PFA* ->Ah I missed that detail. If mic quality is truly that important to you, an understandable preference, then you will sacrifice audio quality quite a bit. If you liked your pc363d, then many people still praise the updated drop epos + pc38x. Just check to see if they dont have the flaws you mentioned. I recommend specific gaming headsets because these ones are not slop (neither is the audeze maxwell despite some flaws), but you're not going to find anything with your preferences because it simply doesnt exist right now unless you chip in more cash for that "audiophile stuff + modmic or dedicated mic." That's why nobody has responded to your post, my guy. Sacrifices must be made either with the wallet or your preferences. Now some notable all-rounders I've personally tried are the Corsair HS80, MMX 330, A50X or A50 Gen 5 (both have same tech and hands down the best microphone on a headset rn, but X has hdmi base station and more money). The Fractal Scape is pretty goated for the price, but I haven't heard the microphone yet, check it out. Honestly, if you want a transcending audio experience based on your preference then I recommend the HD 490 Pro (or any audiophile of your choice) with an affordable DAC, and a modmic to easily turn that headphone into a headset. That's a great way to get audiophile quality sound for music and gaming, while getting decent mic quality (subjectively).
r/HeadphoneAdvice • A quality headset (for gaming) that is not "gaming" crap ->I love the Corsair HS80’s. Comfortable, decent mic, wireless for when I want to grab a drink while in a lobby or whatever, great battery life, and they work while charging so when they die they’re just wired headphones. No noise isolation sadly. But they are over-ear so they do mute the room a bit.
