No bro im honest if it was trash i tell you cash ITS TRASH but no the truth is, is just that good. I dont try the artic nova but maybe when my headset is about to die.
Bro after one night trying it its no way you take another headset. Just take the hs80 its perform on all
I replaced my HS80s with this model weirdly! The HyperX is much better. Comfort and battery life are incomparable. Although the HS80s come with a Dolby App license as opposed to DTS - but I really canât tell the difference in games. My HS80s are on the shelf since I got the HyperX IIIs Wireless.
I read somewhere that you shouldnât use the ingenuity App Spatial Awareness toggle, as it just adds another processing stage. But that you should use the DTS Unbound Windows store app which is licensed for the headset, and set the Windows sound output to use DTS. I also believe that DTS is comparable to Dolby - so any games that support Dolby output will also work with DTS. Iâll try and remember where I found the article about this. To be honest, I leave my Windows output to DTS and havenât noticed much difference but Iâve apparently not got audiophile ears - so id be interested to know what others are doing. And youâre right about the comfort and battery life. Theyâve become my goto headphones for those reasons! The band and clamp force is perfect for those with adult sized heads. đâď¸
You have me testing all my games, switching from DTS to normal and in game from spatial to stereo. What have you done!!? đ I read a post from an audiophile a while back saying that a lot of Windows sound problems are caused by users choosing the wrong combination of in-game, app, and windows settings. For example, you shouldnât enable DTS in Windows sound and enable Spatial in nGenuity. This causes the sound to be processed twice which causes muffled sound. This is where consoles make things easier. Generally, unless the game supports 3D/Spatial sound, I donât think you should enable it in Windows or nGenuity. And if the game does support it, you should enable it in game and enable DTS in Windows. Apparently Windows DTS processes the sound better than enabling it nGenuity (which makes me wonder why they even have the option to enable it in nGenuity)!? I wish I could find all the articles Iâve read when researching this. Iâm sure it was a HyperX support article that explained some of these points too. Interesting topic. Now back to testing đâď¸
One more thing I should add to those buying these - you need to install the old nGenuity app first from the Windows Store in order to firmware update the headset and dongle. For some reason's firmware updating is not supported yet in the nGenuity Beta App (which is the one they recommend to use). So firstly install the nGenuity from the Windows store & update firmware. Then after that use the Beta app from their website. Personally, I don't mess with any of the EQ settings in the beta app, nor do I use the spatial awareness toggle - so i rarely use either app and you don't need them to start with Windows either. Just remember to pop into the old app now and then to check for firmware updates ;)
# 1. SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 (or 7X / 7P) * price: often around $140â$150 on sale * pros: excellent soundstage for positional awareness, comfortable ski-band design, multi-platform (pc, ps, xbox depending on model), dual wireless + bluetooth. * cons: battery life is good but not best-in-class (\~38 hours). # 2. hyperx cloud alpha wireless * price: \~$130 * pros: outstanding battery life (up to 300 hours), clear directional audio, strong build, comfortable memory foam padding. * cons: no bluetooth, mostly pc/ps compatible. # 3. logitech g pro x 2 lightspeed (if you found on sale) * price: normally $250, but sales can drop it to $150 \~$170. * pros: fantastic positional sound with dts headphone:x, swappable earpads, low-latency lightspeed dongle. * cons: might stretch your budget unless discounted. # 4. corsair hs80 rgb wireless * price: \~$120 * pros: dolby atmos support, very good mic quality, comfortable floating headband, works on pc and ps5. * cons: battery life is shorter (\~20 hours). # 5. razer blackshark v2 pro (2023 ed) * price: \~$150 * pros: clear positional audio, lightweight, improved mic quality, 70-hour battery life. * cons: sound signature leans toward bass heavy if unadjusted. requirements: * under $150 * wireless/ a dongle not a headphone jack * good positional sounds * noise cancellation (not a MUST) let me break down your requirements real quick wireless will always have some latency even with low latency dongles so if you are aiming for competitive gaming you are already putting yourself at a disadvantage good positional sound usually comes from open back headphones but those do not block outside noise if by noise cancellation you mean active noise cancellation (ANC) it actually hurts positional accuracy because it alters the sound cues and is more useful for airplanes or travel closed back headphones already block some outside noise but not in a way that ruins positional sound for casual gaming you can spend less and still get solid wireless options for competitive gaming wired open back headphones are still the best since they give you a wider soundstage and make it feel like you have wall hacks.
Turtle beach used to be the go to for a lot of peeps. a couple of my friends had it. but lately the mic qualityâs just been weird. Itâs kinda muffled and inconsistent. still usable. but not what it used to be imo. The [nova one](https://x.com/HotScopeDeals/status/1981285390863781928) feels decent. it doesnât feel heavy after a few hours. and the overall sound has that crisp mix (good for hearing small details). but itâs pricey. Corsairâs honestly not far behind tho. good value for what it is. plus no weird sound drop offs. the others you mentioned all kinda blend together. like they do work. but they donât really feel right once youâve tried something a bit higher quality.
Corsair by far my steelseries was to small for me and the strap was annoying but I had the old nova pro wired one not the newer wireless one that looks like your picture the Corsair headset was amazing before I mistakenly broke it the ear cups do no rotate infinitely I was able to on one but it was breaking the cable Corsair headset was so comfy and has the best wireless mic on the market they only thing is my battery would die as soon as I unplugged it after two years but I think itâs because my cable was breaking (under the earcup)
No he has the wired one just the same model but wired Hs80 is my fav headset icue I didnât really use it but did have some trouble updating it sometimes thinking that was causing the disconnects but I did have some problems but I think itâs because I broke my cable around the ear with it not allowing it to charge still worked just had to keep it plugged in would work for awhile then disconnect which could be what others are talking about but never really happened before I was able to rotate one ear cup clockwise infinitely but the other I couldnât (because it was breaking and it finally snapped wish I realized)
Thanks update Corsair is giving me a free new headset all I gotta do is send this one in (they are officially the best manufacturer imo I bought my headset 2 years ago on my birthday on Amazon and theyâre still giving me a new headset )
Check out the SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless. i think its under $100, solid positional audio, and comes with a USB-C dongle. Super comfy too. If you can stretch a bit, the Corsair HS80 RGB Wireless is great for around $130 with better soundstage and mic quality
