I'm partial to Corsair Void Pros. They have pretty deep ear cuffs for my big ass ears.

See what audiophiles recommend in your price bracket. The only advantage that "gaming headsets" have is that most audiophile cans are headphones (no mic). So if you want to talk to people you may need a separate mic. I have an Audio Technica R70X and have been pretty happy with them. They're a little light on bass and pretty flat, but good sound stage and detail. They definitely benefit from. An external DAC / AMP but I did run them off of my mobo audio jack for a while. They are also super lightweight which is nice. For reference I had a Corsair Void headset before. Detail and sound stage isn't even close. The Void was also massively bass boosted. Ultimately it depends a lot on personal preference and the type of games you play. Some people play slow single player games and want to enjoy the audio. Some people play PvP games where they want to tease out every possible advantage.

I've been using a Corsair Void Pro/Elite on both my work and gaming setups for years now, no issues. I really like them. Eventually the ear cups wear out, but you can buy new ones from Amazon for cheap enough.

The Corsair Void series is fantastic. I'm hoping to get a void v2 soon

i use a corsair Void, it does mostly fit over the index but not by a lot. and before i’m lambasted for not using the speakers: i got mine second hand and the right side is dead. and fixing it seems like more work than it’s worth

Looking at your list, I feel like some models score high just because they are easy to buy. I owned a Corsair Void and a HyperX Cloud and both slowly became frustrating to live with. Small things like disconnects and stiff clamping added up over time. I switched to the SteelSeries Nova 7P because I wanted one headset for work calls and gaming. Battery life and dual connection actually changed how I use it every day. That long term daily use feels more meaningful than short term hype.

Alot of clarity and soundstage tbh due to the fact alot of gaming headsets are closed back, for reference went from the Corsair voids to HD599 and an at2020 vocal clarity is much better. Beyerdynamics and senheiser make purpose built "audiophile headsets" they are in the 300 price range but for a decent set of cans a mic and interface will run you around the same. You also could look into USB options and 3.5mm jack

I just read the post I recommend the voids the only reason I upgraded was because my dog got a hold of them 😭

Not really... most people prefer open backs, generally closed backs aren't preferred for listening, I'd say the only reason I have a pair of closed backs is because of vocal tracking, but to each his own

I was using Corsair voids but switched it up to AirPod pros 3 recently. I don’t need best of the best audio and usually use the 5.1 system anyway.
