DCA Aeon RT sounds the best to me out of anything I own. I've stopped buying other pairs since I got those and sold a bunch of others that didn't get much use anymore. I'll use those until the day they die and then I'll probably buy another DCA headphone. Boggles my mind most people mention Hifiman or Audeze when talking about planars but I rarely see DCA mentioned.
I had the Closed Drop version of the RT before the Noire X. I never listened to them as I found them muffled and lacked dynamics. Noire X is a whole league above with great separation and stage. I'm set now for closed cans
DCA Aeon RT, those are my daily drivers for PC use. They feel like pillows on my ears. KSC75 are good enough if you don't mind the earclips. I like using these for VR.
I had/borrowed the original Aeons and the RT ones (which have just a pad swap i think?) and to me they were anemic in the bass that was impossible to EQ to my liking. Pretty nice imaging and nicely isolated. Which is why i got myself some Aeon Noire X's, they fix the issues i had with the older ones and sound amazing. Although i am looking to sell them, since i prefer my th900 just a little more
I had the original Aeons and the RT but they dont compare to the noire x. To me the older ones were lifeless whilst the noire x does everything well, even takes EQ and does bass

Not sure if these are within your budget, but. I think these are better than most known brands at this price level: https://danclarkaudio.com/aeon-rt-new-1.html You should be able to find plenty of reviews. I use AirPods Pro and they are great. I cannot justify spending twice as much, but I have listened to the above headsets and there is a clear difference.
I really love my Aeon Closed RT and I would like to get the Noire X in the future, but I just can't imagine it's that much better than my Closed RT to justify the price increase
Yeah the 3D printed filter stuff is really cool. I am ride or die with the Closed RT. I love them, use them every day for games, youtube, movies, and music. Maybe I will sell or trade my Aeolus for a pair in the future. Aeolus hasn't really been getting much use. Once I got the 6xx to be more comfortable with the comfort strap the Aeolus is just kind of collecting dust because of how heavy it is comparatively
Aeon Closed RT (Closed X is the same I think) It just works so perfectly for music, gaming, media consumption. It's the most comfortable headphone I've ever used. It isolates well. Not cheap but not overly expensive. Big fan.
I got a pair the other day and was not a fan. They just felt like ass compared to my favorite closed back planar, the Aeon RT Closed. they didn't get super loud either. And they didn't stay "awake" between audio streams. Like between youtube videos they would go into a low power state and upon starting the next video I would miss the first second or two of audio. I sent them back and got edition XV instead. Wireless just not for me I think. I have airpod pros for that.
That’s curious because to my ears my OG aeons EQ bass just fine. It lacks the punch OPs clear would have but it’s plenty for me personally!
I have the OG MrSpeakers Aeon Closed and they’re just a damn good closed back set. Neutral bright is how I’d describe them, with some EQ they can become warm and lively if that’s your bag. I also have elear with clear pads and will say the elear KILLS the aeon closed for dynamics and punch. The elears are almost a “harder” headphone to listen to due to such, the punch and dynamics are so great and so heavy it can be fatiguing. I’ve heard much the same about clears. But if it makes ur decision any easier, the aeons are the ones I reach for almost daily, and I’ve owned them for 7 years. They ended my constant hunt for different or new gear. Before the aeons I would buy and sell and buy and sell just to mess around with stuff, the aeons were so good and I loved them so much they single handedly ended that. They may not blow u away immediately, but they were (and are) very very much a keeper for me. I wouldn’t sell them if I got MSRP (850) for them even however many years later, nothing else fits its bill in my eyes.
The drop version is practically the same headphone to the best of my knowledge. Such as the hd6xx is essentially just an hd650 re released. Now keep in mind my glowing review and ownership may not be the exact experience with everyone as it’s a mixed bag in the community. Worth noting when the OG Aeon originally dropped in like 2018 it was HAILED as an amazing set, everyone loved it and it had serious hype. This community is confusing lol.
The Aeons have great bass extension and go really low. What they are lacking is the visceral impact or slam, which is something that TH900’s excel at. But the isolation is great on the Aeons as are the mids and highs.
