My usual recommendation, the Sennheiser PC38x aren’t on sale currently but a good budget alternative is the Drop + EPOS H3X. https://drop.com/buy/drop-epos-h3x-gaming-headset?utm_source=linkshare Otherwise, I also heavily recommend the SHP9500 with a standalone mic like the V-Moda boompro. https://a.co/d/4rfCj3j https://a.co/d/fqkO2do
The PC38x would be the better product, and I’ve seen them go for $150 or sometimes lower. TBH though for the price difference I’d just opt for the EPOS. $20 and you’re going to have a hard time finding anything better for $100 or less.
How about $80 under budget Drop+epos h3x is $20 right now, and you aren't going to find a better closed back under $100. Edit: also, I think you misunderstand how wireless peripherals work, having an Ethernet cable doesn't prevent them from being used.
One of the most recommended options by audiophiles. If it wasn't for the single greatest deal I have ever seen in headsets going on right now with the Drop+Epos H3X, this would be my top recommendation for closed backs under $160
If you still need headset capabilities, the Drop + EPOS H3X is on sale now at Best Buy for $50. EPOS was a gaming spinoff from Sennheiser so the audio quality is quite good.
100% This ☝🏼 I picked up a couple pairs. The epos h3x and the koss gmr54 iso. Really impressed by the koss set. Especially for $19+shipping! Very lightweight and cozy. Nice and clear, full sound, comparable to my daily drivers(senn/drop pc37x). Everyone so far has said the mic sounds clear and full as well. For $19 I'd be hard pressed to find a better set. For $20+shipping the h3x just didn't sound as full as the koss. The ear cups are smaller. The h3x headset, in general, is more clampy. I'll likely keep them as a loaner set or 3rd/emergency back up set. If OP is set on spending $150, and not concerned with sound leak into the mic(stating they wanted open back) then I'd definitely just get the senn/epos/drop pc38x set, which is currently on sale for $149 down from $199.
Yea, they're having a big sale. It's normally like a $70 set. I also tried a set from epos, the h3x. They just dont sound as full as the koss set.
