I'm really fond of my EPOS H6 Pro open backs. Wired 3.5mm so it has low latency. It is by far the best sounding 'gaming' headset I have owned. EPOS are a spin off from Sennheiser.

I should note, my H6 Pros are probably about 3 years old, and have so far held up quite well. I had concerns about the L shaped hinge bracket, but so far it has been good. They get a fair bit of use too, as I use them for pretty much all computer activities. The ear pads are rubbing up a bit around the edges, but where they contact the head, they are smooth. Foam has lasted well too. Microphone is also good enough that I have basically retired my boom mounted Rode NT-USB for anything other than voice-overs.

HD5XX was the best I have heard. Second is the EPOS H6 Pro open back. But the best sound system has got to be the Bose system in the VE Series II Holden Caprice. Sharp, bass is very tight, and excellent imaging with its centre woofer, as well as front tweeters.

I cycle between two pairs of headphones while gaming, depending on my mood and I use either; Audeze Maxwell or Epos H6 Pro Open + Epos Gsx 300. I’d give you the following recommendations: Audeze Maxwell if you want closed back and wireless, Epos H6 Pro Open if you want open back and wired.

I use the Epos H6 pro open and don't have any problems. It is my first headset I ever used. Before that I had in ear headphones but they are more damaging for the ears

I have the same problem. For reference, when I wear bike helmet, I wear 62cm. Baseball cap size is XL or 7 3/4. I currently use Nova Pro 7, but the mic quality is not the best, and the sidetone has static noise. I have been using it for 3 years and looking for new one with better sound quality, mic and sidetone. Prior to this, I was using Sennheiser HD 598cs (same as 569), it's comfortable, but mic wasn't great and its wired. Here are the headphones I bought and returned due to small size. (either too tight or don't cover my earlobes) Logitech G Pro X2, Astro A50 gen5, Turtle Beach Stealth 700, EPOS H6Pro open, HyperX Cloud III, Nova Pro Wireless , Nova Pro 5. Drop PC37X, Sony Pulse, Sony Pulse Elite, Sony H5 Inzone. The only one that fit my head comfortably is Asus ROG Delta II, but the app is too buggy and sidetone didn't work for me.

I have the Nova 5x and would say it's just okay for single player immersive style games. With the right EQ it can be slightly better than okay. I personally prefer the Epos H6Pro (open-back version) headset i just recently got. With them being open-back it really expands upon the open world of most games and really makes it feel like you're right there in the game. It is also great for FPS games if you dabble in those as well
