Yeah, Hadenys is definitely an intermediate step up from something like the 6XX. I have them and like them.
Finally someone else that doesn’t like the Meze sound. I wanted to like the 109 Pro so badly because it just looks so so good and feels great. But the sound profile is not for me at all. If you’re looking for some that fits between the HD600 and the Noire, the Focal Hadenys is worth a look - you can catch a deal on them if you’re patient and they are a good set. I also think that you will like the Arya Stealth if you get to try them. They were my endgame until one of the speakers died like a week after I got it. If you get one that works, they are an amazing daal.
Good review, but you forgot to mention that the soundstage is lacking on the Hadenys for it's price range, the rest of the sound quality and characteristics is top notch, the build however feels worrying, I will have to take good care of mine since I don't have warranty, got them from a random seller brand new for 350$.
Hey mate, I own the Hadenys and I was curious about how the positioning of the earcups can mess with the sound perception. These seem to be angled drivers and while I mess with the fit I get more or less soundstage, I'm curious how you adjust them on your head since you mentioned that part.
Good review mate. as a Hadenys owner, I'm glad you decided to return them. After one year of use, my ear pads got worn down and started to tear apart, and it's extremely hard to find after market pads for this version of Focals. I'm stuck with this headphone now, I mean I like the sound signature especially the low end, but I really want a wider stage, and I am on the fence of buying an Edition XS. Now my question is regarding the part when you mentioned that the mid Bass on hifiman can sound even better on some tracks compared to the Hadenys, can you tell me which track for example? I really want to try the XS cuz it has better bass than the stealth, but coming from the Hadenys I don't wanna be disappinted with the slam.
I found this [Belgium store](https://www.noir-et-blanc.com/focal-coussinets-hadenys.html), the only one out there that sells original Hadenys pads. 29€ per one ear pads. I purchased a pair for 58, and they have to import them from Focal, it's taking like 10 days now for them just to ship. After emailing them they said [this](https://imgur.com/a/HYFepv1). So I have to wait another few days for them to receive the correct units . Hopefully, cuz they might just cancel my order or smth. Not mentioning that I used a service provider to re-ship to my country that will cost about another 20€ if it goes smooth.
The Hadenys can go down to 350usd sometimes as (open box), keep looking for a good offer. I am very satisfied with mine, The sound sits close to my target so I use a slight eq making the Hadenys my end game. The only huge huge con is the market for replacement earpads is almost non existent, after one year of use mine are getting worn down.
My Tin T2 IEMs suprised the heck out of me the day I plugged them into my THX 789 amp. They sound just fine off of any source but give them extra headroom and the depth of what they produced just increased significantly. I don't really use them very often because of earwax and they're not the most comfortable for me, but they have been the most suprising. The other headphone I was suprised by and really enjoyed was the Focal Hadenys. Too expensive for me but I got to demo them and just couldn't take them off.
The 490s are everything I love about my hd 6xxs with everything those were missing. I've tried the Focal Haydenys too, they sound amazing and are pretty comfortable, but I wasn't sure about their long term build quality.
Hifiman HE6SE V2 are often on sale for $399. Focal Hadenys is one of my favorite fun cans. The Hifiman Edition XS tend to go for $239-$269 depending on sales etc. Hifiman house sound is generally brighter than Sennheiser (expect for outliers like flagship HD800/HD800S etc). I’ve tried EQing the treble up in Sennheiser cans (HD650 and HD600) and tried using Oratory’s EQ in Peace but it still sounded odd to me. It’s just Sennheiser’s HD650/600/6XX house sound. I much prefer Focal and Hifiman’s tunings.
My impression of the haedeyns is a lot more favourable. Yours is HD 600 with better bass but worse everything, mine would be HD 600 with vastly superior (and target aligned bass) and matching performance across the treble and midrange. I think they're severely overlooked and a good option between them and the HED D1 for anyone looking to unseat their HD 600. Arya sounds fine, but very different, faster, slightly metalic sounding but very detailed.
First, I've ordered Hadenys, but the cup size was so small, unusable for me, so I returned it. Ended up with the V3.
