Focal - Spirit One

I mostly have open backs but has had a few closed. In order of least to most impressed: Goldring something, maybe D100? Very blah, left then on a plane and never looked back. Focal Spirit One. Sounded nice enough but crazy uncomfortable so I never really gave them their worth. Traded for a subwoofer. Audio Technics M50x. Still have them, although the pass are disintegrating and I'm not sure I even want to spend fifty bucks for upgraded ones. The usual comments about wonky sound spot here. Audio Technica M40x. I bought these for a former friend and only listened a little before I handed them over. Sounded very AT but less so than the M50x. Shure 1540. Now we're talking! Portable the most comfortable headphones I own and I own seven pairs incoming open back. Incredibly detailed, balanced sound. I'd say they're perfect for a closed-back except for the price at $500, rarely discounted.
