I would definitely skip the Beyers; they're funky tunes. Honestly, in that price range I'd probably go with the Fractal Scape; they're a great pair of wireless headphones for music and games, and the EQ is incredibly well designed. If you want to go wired, I'd recommend the Hifiman Sundara or Fiio FT1 Pro plus a $9 dongle (Apple in the US, JCALLY elsewhere) and a Schiit Magni/Topping L30/JDS Atom Amp.
I have one of these and I like it! The finition is really good. Sound ans Mic are on points. It's comfortable and very classy. I didn't find it that expensive considering the overall quality and the fact it is a wireless headset.
By studio I assume you mean audiophile headphones, because studio typically refers specifically to headphones with a neutral frequency response. There is no one answer to this. There are absolutely high quality gaming headsets like the Audeze Maxwell and Fractal scape. In fact if you ask audiophile reviewers like [Headphones.com](http://Headphones.com) (who runs the headphones show on youtube), they'll tell you this is where you can find really really good bang for your buck. I've tried the maxwell and they are on par with $500 - $700 audiophile headphones. Really over $500 is diminishing returns. I've got DCA E3s and while they are great, they won't be worth it to nearly everyone. Really anything with a wide soundstage and accurate positioning will be good for gaming. I'd avoid anything like the ATH M50X, which have a very poor soundstage and poor positioning. Those were good budget cans more than a decade and a half ago and yet people still recommend them to this day despite them being horrid compared to modern options. Gaming headphones do typically come with low latency 2.4 Ghz wireless, which is important if you need / want that.
Fractal Design Scape is the only good option under that price.
Absolutely horrible advice. Ignore this and avoid garbage brands like Hyper X In that budget, the only good headset is Fractal Design Scape
Clamp force is insane on the Fractal Design Scapes. If you are in any way sensitive to how tight a headset is you can rule these out immediately. It's a shame too because if it wasn't for the comfort, they are a good headset.
Ill agree with this, got my Fractal Scape headset for xmas, and I love them.
Fractal’s new one. First version so its got some kinks.
Conclusion: Except for some very rare gaming branded headphone (like Audeze Maxwell. Or Fractal Design Scape ), most gaming headphones (and gaming stuff overall) are overpriced garbage which cost less than a tenth of their price. And even with some good audio drivers, the QC is often way less reliable than well known/good wired headphones. For example, Audeze is known for a lot of QC issue on their headphones, especially the Audeze Mobius/Penrose, Maxwell is better but still has some issues. Fractal Design Scape sounds good, but the plastic feels a bit cheap and there was a lot of issue with pads and headband fabric coming off. Yes, Audio/Hifi is a rabbit hole, more expensive=/= better.
