Bluetooth only gaming headsets are atrocious and should be avoided at all costs. Standard Bluetooth has terrible latency, and when used with a mic very bad audio quality. Phones have much better quality because they have access to the proprietary audio codecs from Sony and Samsung, but they don’t allow these to be used on desktop PCs so you’re limited to standard Bluetooth. BT5.2 improves things quite a bit, but they’re still no where near as good as the proprietary codecs. Gaming headsets with 2.4Ghz dongles can be amazing… because they’re not limited to standard Bluetooth bandwidth and codecs and have much better latency than anything meant for use with mobile phones. One thing I’ll say about Bluetooth latency is a lot of time the latency is hidden, as most people use them for listening to music or watching videos or maybe calls. In all of these use cases the latency can often be hidden or excused away as being something other that the Bluetooth connection. For example, all mobile devices use latency estimations to display video playback so they sync up better with the audio when using Bluetooth headphones. That 1-2 second delay between you pressing play and the video starting? That’s the actual latency. … The Fractal Scape headset has gotten some good reviews. The main complaint with them seems to be that some people find them uncomfortable, especially if they wear glasses. The Razer Blackshark V2 Pro and V3 Pro are also well regarded. The V3 Pro have some of the lowest Bluetooth latency of any headset on the market, and do some magic sound processing when using Bluetooth to make the mic audio not complete crap. It‘s “only” 130ms of latency over Bluetooth. 12ms over 2.4Ghz, roughly the same as most USB headsets.
I would definitely skip the Beyers; they're funky tunes. Honestly, in that price range I'd probably go with the Fractal Scape; they're a great pair of wireless headphones for music and games, and the EQ is incredibly well designed. If you want to go wired, I'd recommend the Hifiman Sundara or Fiio FT1 Pro plus a $9 dongle (Apple in the US, JCALLY elsewhere) and a Schiit Magni/Topping L30/JDS Atom Amp.
I absolutely love my Fractal Scape headset. I use them via Bluetooth with my iPad and iPhone for music and video when I’m not using them for gaming via the wireless dongle and the sound quality is far better than anything else I’ve used. To the extent that i nearly cried when I listened to them the first time.
I have one of these and I like it! The finition is really good. Sound ans Mic are on points. It's comfortable and very classy. I didn't find it that expensive considering the overall quality and the fact it is a wireless headset.
By studio I assume you mean audiophile headphones, because studio typically refers specifically to headphones with a neutral frequency response. There is no one answer to this. There are absolutely high quality gaming headsets like the Audeze Maxwell and Fractal scape. In fact if you ask audiophile reviewers like [Headphones.com](http://Headphones.com) (who runs the headphones show on youtube), they'll tell you this is where you can find really really good bang for your buck. I've tried the maxwell and they are on par with $500 - $700 audiophile headphones. Really over $500 is diminishing returns. I've got DCA E3s and while they are great, they won't be worth it to nearly everyone. Really anything with a wide soundstage and accurate positioning will be good for gaming. I'd avoid anything like the ATH M50X, which have a very poor soundstage and poor positioning. Those were good budget cans more than a decade and a half ago and yet people still recommend them to this day despite them being horrid compared to modern options. Gaming headphones do typically come with low latency 2.4 Ghz wireless, which is important if you need / want that.
Fractal Design Scape is the only good option under that price.
Absolutely horrible advice. Ignore this and avoid garbage brands like Hyper X In that budget, the only good headset is Fractal Design Scape
