Newer iteractions of bluetooth have gotten significantly better so I don't mind it nearly as much as I used to. I use T1 gen 1, HD650, Sundaras, LCD-X, SRH940, and PS500s with a Woo Audio WA7 gen 2 at home, but I love my WH-1000MX3 for convenience. Not the most neutral, but my SRH940 isn't hard to drive if I wanted to bring them along with a USB-C dongle or Dragonfly Red. My hearing probably isn't what it was, so that's likely a factor. It's only a matter of time before we can have both convenience and lossless audio! I mostly keep these because of comfort, familiarity, and enjoying the ritual.

Focal Hadenys. Grado PS500e. Focal Bathys/Bathys MG/Clear MG. Grado HP100 SE. We are talking DEEP, extended, smooth and detailed bass, not boomy and muddy bass. Good bass. I am a professional bass player and the ones I highlighted are the very best I heard. If you want something cheaper, say so and I will help you find it.

Never enough mate. I was at that stage if not more plus again in materials and bits to finish of making the headphones. So I sold every single headphone I owned then went out and purchased an Audeze MM-100.has planer drivers, and this set of cans really can shift music in the most astonishing way.it just sings. I also purchased a WiiM pro plus a Cambridge audio dacmagic 200 and lucky me got a musical fidelity twin tube which had a huge power supple.unfortunately the guy doesn’t trade any more, but there was a little business called rock grotto.he had upgrade or do it’s your self kits. The kits ranged from £60 to about £200 including very nice tubes, diodes umm loafs of very well matched gear.warm it up and your of. If bought planer headphones in between,no they get sold and I still carry on with my Audeze. Well I couldn’t resist a grado PS500 going on FB for £175 and a 325 for I think it was £150 immaculate. Well I would have to say,it’s rude not to have one grado hiding in a cupboard some where. Good luck man and carry on collecting and most of all just melt away with the music in to those grados Cya

I have a Grado PS500e, which I bought from a college friend a few years ago. I do not really want to sell for sentimental value, but they also never get used. Not an audiophile and online prices vary - how much would be a fair price for these? If anyone wants to negotiate, I am open to talking in DMs.

r/BudgetAudiophileBest budget over ear headphones for just sitting back and enjoying a album in its entirety

I have some budget headphones, grado open back and m-audio closed back. I love the grados for almost everything (especially vocals!) and find them non fatiguing and super lightweight so easy to wear for a long time. But, I often want more bass and/or privacy so then I'll pull out the closed back. OP, why not get one of each and still stay in your budget?

I'm a big fan of Sony. The WF 500 earbuds are a very solid budget option, have used mine constantly for well over 3 years and still hold a charge well. And the 1000 xm5 are great over ear noise cancelling headphones that have decent aftermarket support, like cooling ear pads. I love my Grado open back headphones too, but theyre more for dedicated stereo music listening, and don't think they offer anything Bluetooth anyway.

For rock music, there is nothing else like grado, try to find a secondhand one to fit your budget better, but you really need to try it on your own at least once before buying anything else. It's open back, which mean it will leak sound everywhere and much more suitable for home usage. It also doesn't sound that good for most other genre, but man they do the meanest guitar shred I've ever heard
