If you like them, that's great. I weirdly like the Audivina, despite them being pretty universally panned. It's nice to zig when everyone else zags, sometimes.

It turns out that my problem with a lot of closed backs is muddy, overdone bass and for its many flaws, the Audivina isn't bassy. I've seen the FR graphs and I know that it's a weird and spikey tune, but I just don't hear it with my unit. The detail, clarity, and seperation are really great and I have only hit a few tracks where the Audivina's quirks bother me (weirdly, clapping occasionally is really bothersome). They also take EQ pretty well, without sacrificing the things that I do love about them.

I don't hate the Audivina as much as most do, and after EQ it's an okay headphone, but yeah ... bizarre how good they are at open, and how bad they are at closed.

whatever is most comfortable. because I can use EQ to make almost anything sound the way I like. but I can't make hifiman egg shape cans fit and I stopped buying them because unlike EQ, I can't form them to my head. right now, most comfy is probably a senn HD variant... 6xx 600 700 etc. those go on and almost immediately disappear. and again, as far as sound. well, the best sounding cans have DSP because it's basically built in EQ/signal correction. so THE best sound isn't coming from any default pair minus that correction. it's why old school audiophiles are shocked when they try new BT cans with anc and DSP. real talk the momentum 4 or ak9 n9 sound "better" than anything in your collection because they come out the box with EQ applied. way too long, probably didn't make it this far? I prefer comfy cans cause sound can be manipulated, hardware can't

I can’t see the scores at Rtings, but it seems they rate the audio better on the original Maxes as compared to the 2s (looking at the text, anyway). Not sure how good Rtings is as they rated the maxes better than my Hifiman planars for audio reproduction accuracy. lol.

Or even mid planars. Don’t get me wrong, I love my APM2 but for pure audio my much cheaper Chifi HiFimans blow them clear out of the water. You need a lot more things like a good headphone amp etc so not as convenient as anything from Apple. I like to have both options.
