I have your non typical answer: I had HD 800S, Mangrid Tea Pros, and other great audio equipment with a standalone mic. I actually sold all the high tier audio gear and am on a Cloud III S and actually love it. Gaming audio gear was always a meme and I am pleasantly surprised by how good the audio is for a wireless headset. I play counterstrike and it's great being able to run into the kitchen to grab a drink and know when the next round is starting, doing dishes while I wait for queue to pop, etc.

Dual mode connectivity is fairly common for higher-end gaming headsets, but not too much on budget models. The new HyperX [Cloud III S Wireless](https://hyperx.com/products/hyperx-cloud-iii-s-wireless-gaming-headset) is pretty good (definitely better than a Cloud Flight), but it's a bit past your budget. There's also the SteelSeries [Arctis Nova 5 Wireless](https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-nova-5) (as well as the better [Arctis Nova Pro Wireless](https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-nova-pro), but that's way past your budget).

Hello, I purchased a pair of Cloud III S and had this issue that I have been unsuccessful in fixing it. So whenever the headset goes from playing an audio to being silent(pausing a video or someone stops talking), I hear a static for half a second. The static is really sharp and can be painful to my ears at times. I otherwise really liked the headset and assumed I had a defective pair so I replaced it but this new pair has the same issue. I'm now assuming its a compatibility issue with my pc but I am at a lost with how to fix it. I have tried updating my audio drives and installing hyperx's app but neither have helped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on how to solve this issue.

Personally, I like wired earbuds like the Sennheiser IE200, but that being said, my bud has the Cloud 3s and the Arctis Nova Pro wireless, and I prefer the comfort of the Arctis, but I definitely say the sound from the HyperX 3s is better in my opinion.

I also was turned away from wireless thanks to logicrap, on the g933 model, back then I was younger and more clueless about audio but they served my needs/standards perfectly until one day they released a firmware/update that reduced the entire range by 8-10db making even podcasts difficult to hear at MAX volume. Threw it in the trash. I couldn't believe a company like them could exist... However I'm back on team wireless gaming headsets during the holidays thanks to the the hyperx cloud 3 S. They have been really good and have take the lion's share of my computer time.

I got the hyperx cloud 3 S on Christmas to upgrade my steelseries arctis 1 wireless and they just barely sound better. I have them connected via the adapter as my motherboard doesn't have Bluetooth and there's a constant static if I'm not listening anything and sometimes even popping noise coming out of the left side. Likely not an issue with the wired version. Yes the headset does feel nice and holds onto your head well, but he prepared to get used to it as it will start squishing and hurting your head after a longer period of wearing.

The new HyperX Wireless III S are a VERY good choice, they’re very well tuned even for audiophile purposes. They also have a mic. Don’t listen to the people recommending Beyerdynamic DT770, that headphone is poorly tuned. It was a decent choice for the price years ago, but there are way better alternatives out there nowadays. The Sennheisers that other people recommended (550, 550S) are also good, but keep in mind that they are wired only and don’t have a built-in microphone. If you want more wired options look into the Fiio FT1 as well, or try IEMs for A LOT less money.
