Thanks but no biggie. Maybe I got a dud. My blue parrot 550 is coming up on 7 years and still kicking.

The 450 is the best in my opinion. I bought a 550 or 650 at Love's and returned it.

I've had the Blue Parrot B550 for 4 years now, I call it my douchebag headset because that's what you look like wearing it, but I'll be damned if it isn't a great headset. Can reach to the back of the trailer and is quite comfortable.

Truckers wear headsets with a boom mic because after many phone conversations and judging how people sound on a call, a boom mic right in front of your mouth has the best chance of picking up your voice and filtering out background noise. Airpods suck at noise cancellation. My Blue Parrot bt450-xt is at least 8 years old and is the best I've had. I forgot to pack it once and broke down and paid too much for a 550 at Loves. People are always amazed I'm going 70 with the window down and it sounds to them like I'm on a landline, with either of them. The 550 speaker doesn't sound as good as the 450 streaming music etc, but both are loud and clear enough for voice calls. Wish I could buy a 450 with usb-c. Would be perfect.

Something about the 550 and 650 is absolutely fucked. Most buggy headsets ever. I never went back to the 450 after multiple warranty claims on 550 and 650, but I’ve wondered since if it was a new production issue or if another 450 today would work as well as my old one back in the day

As in, you could hear more of your environment than you wanted? Or people on the other end of a phone call did? I ask because there’s some things that can be tweaked in that regard… your calls might be defaulting to wide spectrum instead of voice isolation and if you’re using adaptive mode while listening to music, that can also be adjusted up and down. If you’ve tried all that already well then… I’m even more curious to get mine and see for myself. I expect them to be roughly the same as the 2 but I want the longer battery life and hoping the transparency/adaptive modes sound more realistic and less “filtered”.

My father was a trucker and he put me on to BlueParrott. Unbeatable on call clarity imo
