Airpods sound like ass to whoever you're talking to. I make people take them out if they're talking to me on them. The point of a quality headset isn't just *your* audio quality, but the quality of your audio on the other end as well. My bp 650 has noise cancelling in both directions. They can hear my Garmin, and higher pitched sounds, but no rumbling of trucks or any low end at all.

Really? I've been using a blueparrot S650xt for almost 3 years now and I love it. Excellent noise cancellation, no complaints. I did replace the ear pads with the cooling ones, not sure how much difference it made

Blueparrot s650-xt. Had it for going on 2 1/2 years now, and still works like a champ.

The 450 is the best in my opinion. I bought a 550 or 650 at Love's and returned it.

Immediately go to a large truck stop and buy a Blue Parrot headset. Anything from the XT-450 to the fancy 650 with the removable second ear cup.  They are explicitly designed for drivers and people working in high noisy environments, it is *astonishing* in how well they work. I have been walking on the airport apron less than 30 feet away from a big twin turbo prop airplane with engines running, and nobody on the other side of the call can hear a thing. Noisy coffee shops? It makes it sound like you’re in a recording studio. Engine and wind and driving noise? Not even remotely perceptible.  They are *amazing* and the single best investment I’ve ever made in terms of being able to take meetings anywhere.

Something about the 550 and 650 is absolutely fucked. Most buggy headsets ever. I never went back to the 450 after multiple warranty claims on 550 and 650, but I’ve wondered since if it was a new production issue or if another 450 today would work as well as my old one back in the day

As in, you could hear more of your environment than you wanted? Or people on the other end of a phone call did? I ask because there’s some things that can be tweaked in that regard… your calls might be defaulting to wide spectrum instead of voice isolation and if you’re using adaptive mode while listening to music, that can also be adjusted up and down. If you’ve tried all that already well then… I’m even more curious to get mine and see for myself. I expect them to be roughly the same as the 2 but I want the longer battery life and hoping the transparency/adaptive modes sound more realistic and less “filtered”.

My father was a trucker and he put me on to BlueParrott. Unbeatable on call clarity imo
