Tour One M3 Smart Tx

I have JBL and love them. I have a smaller head and smaller ears than average so ymmv. Very comfortable for long stretches (8+hours), no clamping pressure. Comfortable ear pads and headband. ANC is decent- would be better if not for my glasses breaking the seal around my ears most of the time I’m wearing them. Blocks out a lot of the random environmental sounds to the point where you need to be extra aware if using them while crossing the street or something . Volume goes plenty high enough for me - I’ve even worn them with earplugs on underneath and was able to get volume loud enough to almost block out fire alarm type sounds. I have been wearing mine daily and folding them in and put of a case or loose in my backpack for about 20 months and theyre still in great shape. Interface app and hedphone buttons are easy to use and quick connection to devices. Also really love the 5 min quick charge feature that will give you 3-4 hours of listening - great when i forget to do a full charge. Battery life is great - couple days on a full charge. I sometimes go a week in between needing to charge them.

AGREED. Period. Go for the JBL Tour One M3 imo Sennys sound better (M4) but the ANC is subpar

After going through many reviews, I actually decided to invest a little and go for the JBL Tour One M3. Only had them for a couple weeks, but man they're great so far. Extremely comfortable, great sound and also very modifiable with the app, very good NC and the ambient aware mode is much better than in the 770NC. Only downside so far, some features (play, pause, skip and forward) are touch-controlled, as opposed to physical buttons, which takes some getting used to and can be really annoying because it's so easy to accidentally touch. And obviously the price, it's a whole different price category. They're also a little bit bigger and heavier than the 770NC, but I really don't mind that, I knew what I was getting (and it's not dramatic). They cover the whole ear, which increases comfort. The material also seems higher quality. AND they come with a case you can keep them in, which I really appreciate after how my previous ones ended haha. I feel great about them so far, but like I said, it's only been a couple of weeks, long-term satisfaction remains to be seen.

Yup, I eventually got the JBL Tour One M3. Much more on the expensive side, but so far I'm super happy with them. And they thankfully come with a protective case haha.

Sound, honestly hard to tell, I'd definitely say the Tour One have better sound, but I can't tell you by how much... I wouldn't say it's an earth-shattering difference, but then again I'm no expert. ANC though, pretty noticeable difference imo. Well, the NC mode itself is pretty good with both, but the Tour Ones go over the whole ear, so that should provide somewhat better coverage (definitely better comfort, they're insanely comfortable). A big improvement is the Ambient Aware mode - that, I find to be a lot better with Tour One, sounds are a lot more natural and better ballanced.

Just in case you were interested in my overall thoughts about the Tour One so far, I'll put them below. Basically, I feel like they're between slightly to noticeably better than the 770NC in pretty much all parameters. Battery life: longer (though the 770 already has a massive battery life, so this one isn't that crucial imo; still nice, tho), also when you still happen to run out, charging them for 5 monutes should give you another hour of battery life, allegedly (haven't tested it yet lol). Sound: better and also quite modifiable with the app. ANC & Ambient Aware: better. Comfort: better (super soft padding, over whole ear, don't squeeze the head too much). Has more features and functions overall (for example TalkThrough - when it's on, the music automatically pauses whenever you start talking with someone and then resumes playing when you stop, pretty neat haha; I'll say that some of the features aren't thing's I'd really use in a day-to-day, so not necessary at all, but some are pretty cool. For example, I found it pretty impossible to have a phone/videocall with the 770, because I couldn't properly hear myself when I had them on, no matter the mode - but with Tour One, you should be able to customize how much you hear yourself among other things, I think they're overall better designed for taking calls (but full disclosure, I haven't tried it myself yet, this is just based on product description and reviews I've read/watched).) On the other hand, here are a few downsides I've come across so far that might be worth knowing about. 1. Since the headphones have many features and all the controls are on the physical headphones (which in itself is very convenient, you don't have to take your phone out), some of it is touch controlled - the main surface of the right ear cup is touch-sensitive, which means that whenever you accidentally touch it or brush against it, you pause or skip a song or something. Which can get pretty annoying, it's an unfortunate design imo (I'd much prefer either a physical button or just a small touch area you wouldn't hit accidentally), but I think it's largely a matter of habit, it might just take some getting used to. It doesn't really happen to me much anymore, but it could definitely be a turn-off for some people. Volume, ANC/Ambient Aware, and On/Off/Pairing all have physical buttons, touch is for play/pause, skip and rewind. 2. One thing I really liked about the 770 was that they came with a jack that worked even if the headphones were off. Which meant you basically had 3 modes while listening to stuff: Ambient Aware (= hearing everything from outside as well), Active NC, and passive NC (which I liked to use from time to time). It also meant that you could still use them even if the battery died. Unfortunatly, while the Tour Ones still have a jack, they need to be switched on for it to work. So you always need battery, and you always need to pick between hearing everything or nothing from outside, no in-between. Thankfully, the battery life is so good that that hopefully shouldn't be too much of an issue. But still, this kinda bumms me out. 3. Obviously, they take up more space. I'm personally a huge fan of the protective case, but yes, it's a bit bigger, so that needs to be kept in mind. 4. This is kind of a slight thing that might only be an issue for certain people, but since they're not super firm on the head (which increases comfort), they might be more prone to sliding when you move. So I wouldn't recommend them for physical activity. Walking with them is totally fine though. That's pretty much all I can think of. Overall, I'm really happy with them and don't regret getting them at all, but it's definitely worth considering all the factors. Hope it helps!

Yeah, they're quite loud infortunately. I wouldn't say unbearably, but it did take some getting used to. I always turn them on in my hands and only then put them on haha.

Hey, so I ended up getting the JBL Tour One M3 in the end. If you look through the comments here, I wrote about them in detail in a reply to someone, compared them etc.

I can recommend JBL Tour One M3! Really comfy (even for long flights), great sound, comparable ANC, good microphones, insane battery life while usually being cheaper than both APM and XM6. Tried most popular headphones and landed on One M3 as the best package deal.

Using JBL Tour One M3, and I'm happy with them. They're my first ones though, so I can't make comparisons to other models or brands.

I'm quite happy with my JBL Tour One, they are expensive though.

I bought M4, didnt like it, returned and got the JBL Tour One M3. These are lovely. I dont care about facts on paper, these headphones have same Momentum level sound quality, with added rich bass and no QC issues. M4s are over hyped.

I have Ultra (1st gen) and M3's and using them daily. M3's for the gym as I managed to get them for 129€.  Long-term comfort is similar i.e., very good. M3's are a bit more roomy for my ears.  Sound quality is up to the listener. M3 has better EQ, so I've managed to tweak the sound to match my criteria very well. I'm not an audiophile, but M3's to me (at least sometimes with certain songs) sound somehow "better" than Bose.  No clamping pressure or fatigue whatsoever. BOSE build quality is slightly better. M3's feel a bit flimsy and cheap.  In my opinion, Ultras (2nd gen) are not worth the price difference you mentioned. I'm pretty sure you could find M3's with very good discounts over there. However, you should also find Ultra (1st gen) for less than 300€. And there's plenty of criticism around concerning the 2nd gen's "dynamic ANC," which is not the case with the 1st gen's. Also, if it makes any difference, the battery on M3's lasts like forever i.e. +40 hours with ANC on.
