I have similar issues with earbuds, however I’ve had a pair of JBL 760 Bluetooth headphones for about 4 years and I love them. Over the ear, comfortable, battery lasts forever. The headpiece is not particularly narrow, however the headphones are pretty lightweight. These are definitely under $200.
I pledge allegiance to my Soundcore Space Q45 🎧 s! It replaced the JBL Tune 760NC which are still pretty good sounding cans but the Noise cancelling technology is rudimentary & vestigial, & didn't have an auxiliary app while the Space Q45 has an app that also works with the Motion X600 tandem speakers I acquired because the apartment didn't allow TV soundbars! The app has a unique sound limiter feature that cuts the decibel loudness 25 dB from 100dB to 75dB, which makes this Soundcore Space Q45 the perfect headset to give tweens their 1st introduction to quality music that they'll want to get lost into without losing their hearing As for the headphones themselves, you can definitely hear the difference between NC and regular music with the NC activated eradicates the noise so thoroughly it brings out instruments you never heard before! I plan to give the 760s to my bestie, perhaps she will appreciate the musical quality!
only thing that sounds any good with ANC(not a good ANC mind you but it's there) would be JBL 760NC or 770NC on sale for $80
JBL Tune 760NC. They sound good for the price, last for 50h hours, but will however get warm on your ears due to the seal and plastic ear pads. You would have to get open back headphones with better material earpads to prevent this, which are not wireless nor ANC of course. Don't get Anker's or Sony's on this budget range, as you'll be disappointed.
