My problems were that the only way I could get the JLabs I had to turn off was to plug them in to charge. Also it was rare that the headphones would find the device I wanted to connect to. More often than not I'd have to tell the device I wanted to connect with to forget the headphones, turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on. Then the headphones would appear in available devices and it would only then connect. The JLabs finally gave out the other day and I threw them out. I have some spare earbuds I'm using in the interim and I have replacement headphones ordered.

Looking for headphones recs! Low budget, comfy fit, good isolation, and balanced sound are my top needs.  Here's the details: -budget is $55-85 USD, slightly flexible  -Source: android phone w/ USB c & Bluetooth, portable CD player w/ aux, cassette player w/ aux -Isolation is important since I wear these primarily at work. I have ADHD and there's a lot of foot traffic near my desk, so would love to block out some noise & avoid bleed. I also like to wear these doing chores around the house. -Preference for full size, but on-ear could be an option if the isolation is okay -I listen to a lot of genres; alt rock, 90s rock, folk punk, hyperpop, hip house, and rap. Love the mountain goats, black country new roads, indigo girls, interpol, type o negative, AJJ, yung gravy, freddie dredd, cobrah, azealea banks, gaga, nin.  -i like a balanced mix, crisp (but *not* harsh) and not muddy.  -Past headphones: I've been using a pair of $30 Mpow 059 for yearrrs. Love the sound balance, comfort, portability, and that they're pink. They're shredded at this point so I need a replacement.  I bought a pair of Jlab Jbuds Lux ANC wireless headphones to replace them, but I find them to be wayyy too warm on my ears. The sound also seemed less clear than I was wanting, even after playing with settings.  My partner works at a call center and I borrowed their poly blackwire 5220 on ears, and honestly like them better than the Jlabs lmaoo Interested in any thoughts/advice,thanks!

This should help you out - https://ezfixguide.wordpress.com/2025/03/21/best-noise-cancelling-headphones-under-rs-10000/ But I would personally pick the JLab JBuds LUX ANC or the Sennheiser Accentum Wireless.

Haven't seen people talking about Jlabs jbuds lux. Very good for the price point under 5k. Wouldnt find a better ANC for the price, sound quality is great. The earcup is shaped a bit different though

i really love the jlab headphones. super solid budget option, especially for a person who hates the "head in a fishbowl" feeling of ANC

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a lovely person who works for JLAB and they asked me if I'd like to try and keep some of their products in exchange for a review, and this is that review. I am not being paid in any way, my words and opinions are my own, and I was allowed to keep the products whether I loved them or I hated them. I did not check off brand affiliate, because I am not being paid to do this. I do not work for JLab nor do I know anybody who does. To start off with the three products I received altogether, they are arranged from least expensive to most expensive going left to right. All three were incredibly easy to pair to my phone especially after downloading the app. The JLab app while not necessary, did provide a very clear instruction on how to pair to my phone and also provides different EQ options as well as the ability to control all three products from the app instead of using their individual touch controls. It was a shock to me that the over ear jbudslux was the cheapest of the three but they definitely don't feel cheap. Or at least not terribly cheap. They are a plastic build, and they do feel very light. The ear pads do worry me about longevity especially with sweat, however they are extremely comfortable. I even had my girlfriend try them on and she is very sensitive to textures and touch sensations. She also agreed they were incredibly comfortable. So let's start with those ones for the individual thoughts. The jbudslux does not have any touch controls, just a rubberized texture set of tactile buttons on the right earcup, and for this model that feels right. As I mentioned previously they are extremely comfortable and I wore them for several hours on multiple days with no discomfort. While I don't think it would be fair to compare the sound of these to my $400 Sennheiser HD 490 pros, the sound is competitive with other wireless headphones even above the $100 mark. I think that's impressive, and JLab should not be overlooked for that. If you're looking for just a clear and inoffensive sound for work or exercise or just going about your day so you can listen to your Spotify music or podcasts or what have you, the sound of these will not disappoint you. I am no knowledgeable audiophile, who can show you measurement graphs and I doubt I can compare one to one how these sound to other headphones. Do my sennheisers sound better? Yes of course, but that does not mean the sound bad in any way. These sound exactly how they should sound for even double their listed price. And I think that should be a win for the consumer and for JLab. The active noise canceling has three modes from what I could see, there was noise canceling off so you were just getting the passive noise canceling from the ear pads. Then there was noise canceling on, which did reduce the sound of my air conditioner to barely noticeable from 3:00 to 4 ft away from me. I don't think I've tried a noise canceling product that has completely shut out all noise, but that also might not be very safe. I have no idea. I will confirm though that the noise canceling does work decently well but it's about on point for other products I've tried that offer noise canceling. The other mode was the be aware mode, which amplified noises through microphones seated on the earcups. The intended effect is to let you still listen to whatever you want to listen to but also lets in outside noises like people talking to you or cars if you're walking down the sidewalk so that you're not completely unaware of what's going on around you. I did not enjoy using this mode mostly because it got a little distracting when I was trying to listen to music. I understand it's purpose but that mode did not get much use, if anything the outside noises felt stronger than in real life. It made my air conditioner sound louder than it actually was. The range of the Bluetooth on these extended the entire distance of my house which I don't know the square footage of, but just know that my phone was left in the front right corner of the house and I was able to walk all the way to the back left corner which is a closet in another person's bedroom through several walls and doorways and I can still hear clearly the music that was playing from my phone. I think out of the three products I received these ones are my favorites. Next we have the epic sport ANC3. These are true wireless earbuds that come with a clip that wrap around your ear so that they don't come loose while you are exercising or playing sports. I have to say their use of grabbing hold of your ear and not letting go does work, but for me personally these were incredibly uncomfortable to wear. Your comfortability and usage may vary, but my experience with them was not pleasant just for comfort. Their sound was not as pleasant to listen to in my opinion as the j Budslux, but when you're comparing a set of true wireless earbuds to a true wireless headphone there's certainly going to be some differences. Because of the ear clip the earpieces needed to sit inside of the charging case on the opposite side of which ear they would actually go in which was not a bad thing just interesting. So I would take the right earbud out of my ear and place it in the left side of the case. This case is the largest one out of all the true wireless earbuds I've tried which include a set of soundcore a40s. The large all plastic case wasn't too much of a problem but I could see it being cumbersome for some. It just has to fit those ear clips. The noise canceling was about the same as the previous model, but I was able to control them with touch controls which are easy enough to understand once you read the booklet or you can also just open up the JLab app. The Bluetooth range on these was not as long. I got about 6 to 7 ft short ( or about 2 meters short) of the range of the headphones before I started hearing my connection drop. If you are a sporty person that has an issue with your earbuds falling out of your head, these could be for you, as they still sounded pretty good but out of the three I received these are my least favorite mostly just due to comfort. Lastly we have the JLab Epic Lab edition, the most expensive of the three. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to JayLab for sending these products. None of these products were cheap, and to send me three including one of their most expensive models, was incredibly generous and I'm glad I wasn't disappointed by any of them. This model feels premium. The case is all metal and has a sturdy hinge that snaps into place both when you close it and open it. The size of it is much smaller than the sport model, and it feels durable. These performed similarly to the sport model, but are much more comfortable. The sound is a bit smoother than the other two models which is to be expected for the price. Inside the case you can also find a USB dongle so that you can connect these to another device like a PC or laptop for a lower latency connection. Although I did not have trouble with latency on any of the models, for one of this price point that's nice to have. It's a USBC dongle. something I forgot to mention about the sport set is that it comes with different ear tips that are all silicone, so that it can fit your ear more comfortably. This set also comes with many different ear tips but it also comes with foam tips if you prefer a foam seal. The touch controls were about the same and the distance for the Bluetooth was about the same as the sport model as well. The active noise canceling felt a bit stronger on this model as well. Once again the be aware mode felt emphasized beyond the natural sound of things, but maybe that's a safety feature so that your extra aware? It should also be known that all of this can be controlled in the app. The strength of your EQ and other settings can be altered. These are my second favorites and were my go-to on the go earbuds since I received them. I've traveled to a different state with these in my pocket knowing that they were likely safe due to the metal case and that even though I had used them quite a bit, the case had charged them back up to full battery. For all three models since I received them a few weeks ago, I have not had to plug them in a single time. I'm still on the full charge I received them in, which wasn't exactly full I plugged them all in before trying any of them when they received as I don't think things can be shipped with full battery? Either way they did not come fully charged but they did charge up to full fairly quickly. And I have not had to charge them since I started listening. Surprisingly the j buds lux still say full battery when I turn them on and I have definitely used them for a full day of work which is at least eight and a half hours. My overall thoughts are for the average consumer these are steal. Well I don't think the epic lab editions are necessarily what everybody needs, they do have some extra bills and whistles that are surely worth it for some. For the rest of us, if you prefer over ears I can confidently say I would buy the j buds lux should this model I received for free ever break. With the all plastic build that is not out of the question, so it's up to you and how you think you take care of your products. But that one gets my full recommendation. The lab edition gets my second place choice, but I hesitate recommending it due to the price point for the average consumer. The sound of JLab products are all very similar, so if you head over to their website I'm sure there are similar earbuds at a lower price point that would provide almost the same experience. The sport edition are not for me, but that is not the products fault. I don't tend to like things wrapped around my ears, so while my experience with them was poor, they are a lower price then the epic lab edition and sounded similar. JLab was never really on the radar for me as I was happy with my sound core earbuds and I still am, but it's nice to know there is a feature-packed competitor I can turn to should the need arise. I will not be getting rid of any of these products except for maybe the sport ones, I might ask a couple of my friends who run if they want those. My Anker soundcore earbuds I got for about $60 on sale and are just as good as the j-lab products, and I will still keep them in my travel string backpack that I take everywhere. You would be happy with those as well if you picked them up. But they are not any better than the JLab products in my opinion. The soundcore are much smaller than the JLab products I was given but they are all I have to compare to. There may be a similarly priced and sized model on the JLab site. The main takeaway you should get from this review is if you choose a JLab products, if they are all of similar sound and quality to these 3, you will not have wasted your money. I'm very thankful to them for the opportunity to listen and share my opinions, and I'll be sure to use these products until I run them into the ground. Thank you JLab!

I have the Jlab Jbuds Lux ANC headphones and I love them. Theyre comfortable, the battery lasts forever, and the noise cancelling is decent. It doesn't cancel ALL noises but it at least helps take the edge off. They're not too expensive either. Around $80.

Before getting the JLab JBuds Lux, I tried the Sony WH-CH720N, Soundcore Q20i, and JBL Tune 770nc. Unfortunately, I ended up returning each one for different reasons. Sony had extremely shallow earcups and drivers kept hitting my ears, Soundcore looked bulky on me and was creaking sometimes with movement, JBL earcup size was small for my ears. Here’s a detailed review of the headphones: Comfort: These headphones are incredibly comfortable. They are very lightweight, and the cloud foam earcups are incredibly soft. The earcup shape wraps around your ear very well, providing a snug fit. Sound Quality: I’m not an audiophile, but I can say that these headphones sound great for me. They have a clean and crisp tone with good amount of bass. I also used the bass booster EQ settings to enhance the bass response. Look: These headphones are very compact. When folded, they fit comfortably in my small crossbody bag. They also wrap around the head well without much space around, making them look very nice and compact. Passive Noise Canceling: The fit of these headphones is very snug around your ear, which in itself eliminates a lot of noise. Most of the time, it was enough for me, and I didn’t need to use ANC at all. Active Noise Canceling: Works very well also. I tried it while in the mall and it was able to reduce the noise by about 70-80%. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with these headphones. They are one of the best purchases I’ve made recently.

My main issue with the Q20i was that they looked huge on me. However, I never had any complaints about the quality of sound or ANC. It was a great value for the price. The JLab JBuds Lux is much more compact, so it looks better on me without any sacrifices in comfort. That was the main reason I switched, so I would say go with either one, depending on your budget.

r/AutisticAdultsConsistent, simple, sturdy headphone recommendations for my autistic partner?

I recently got a Jlab Lux headset and I honestly love it. I haven't fiddled with the equalizing options much yet but the bespoke app has quite a few options for audio customization. Before I got this Bluetooth headset I was mentally rolling my eyes over how *everything* seems to have an app these days, but it was really easy to pair my headset to it and the app is easy to understand as well so I'm willing to forgive it on this occasion lol. The charge also lasts for like 90 hours, and it charges super quick. I thought I would miss my €20 clearance-sale Sony bluetooth on-ears, but this Jlab headset was definitely worth the €60 I put down for it. They fit comfortably and have a good amount of swivel, and they fold up quite nicely for daily transport by work bag. My asks for a new headset were honestly pretty close to what your partner is looking for - I don't *need* audiophile quality, 'good enough' is good enough for me. The mildly battered Soundcore q30s I borrowed from my brother after my Sony UH202's died would skip audio for a second every so often and it. Drove. Me. Up. The. WALL!!! The Soundcore might deliver better audio quality than a marked-down dinky little Sony on-ear, but I wanted to toss the thing at the end of the week the skipping bothered me so much.
