Porta Pro Wireless and KPH30 Wireless have audio pass through so you even if the battery takes a shit you can still use them for the rest of eternity as if they were the wired version. Will only buy bluetooth headphones that can do this.
Yes kph 40, you can easily change earpads if desired. Very good sound and featherweight. Under $40. Portapro and kph 30i too. Kph 30 wireless if you don't like wired. For much better sound and a step up in quality: Grado 80x and Sennheiser 560s. Comfortable and light but not like the Koss.
Why the hell not? A wireless mouse is great, the cable on a wired mouse snags and is a pita, when I have to charge my mouse it's annoying having it tethered. A keyboard less so, because it doesn't really move, but it makes my desk less cluttered, and means I can put my PC wherever I want without worrying too much about cables. The same goes for headphones, I use wired most of the time, but often I'll put my wireless headphones on, go make a cup of tea, check on the dogs etc, often I'll be on my headset walking around the house while on a meeting, or even just reclining my chair and relaxing a little in my office. Or even just going out for a walk with headphones without having to block the outside world, or deal with the thumping noise in your ear when stepping. I go out with my portapros and btr3k all the time, it's a great combo. For OP, maybe the new Koss kph30 wireless would work?
The AirPods arenβt going to be usable, even with a dongle. They have too much latency. Apple doesnβt support low latency on non-Apple devices. It looks like the Bose QC Ultra support aptx, so you could get an aptx dongle and potentially use those. But wired is going to be the cheapest and easiest solution with the least amount of latency. The earbuds in the box are fine, Iβd definitely try those first before going out and spending more money. Another cheap option that sounds good and fits over the headset are the Koss KPH30.
Koss KSC75/KPH30/KPH40/Porta Pro all all within that $20-40 range but they aren't as durable. I believe the cables like to break on these because they are thin and lack stress relief. Alternatively you could go Samson SR850 or Superlux HD661 but those are only semi-open so outside sounds are slightly damped. To be honest I don't think open backs make people quieter, once you got some audio playing it kind of blocks out ambient noise. At least I assume thats why you want open backs in this case. For the record, Koss headphones sound VERY open, but again these things break with careful adults so you can imagine what children can do. On that note, can anyone seeing this back up the claim that the KPH30 clear is less prone to snapping than the other KPH30 models?
If you're ever curious about on-ear open backs, check out Koss Porta Pro's or Koss KPH30's! Obviously not ideal for DJing, but they're very well loved in audiophile circles, sound very natural and warm, I love my Porta Pro's for older music they've got a really nice character to them - both pairs are great bang for buck too.
any koss with a metal head band is fine durabilty wise. kph40 has just about 1/2" left on the slider on my 7 3/4 hat size head but you can bend them to adjust and tune clamp. their plastic headbands (kph30) snap after about 6 months when I was using them. the kph style band also pulls on my short to medium hair less than the porta pro style can't speak for the SHP
I would say to just go for the classic Sony on-ear headphones like the MDR-ZX110 but the version with a mic on the cable that works for iphone, and then get a 3.5 jack to lightning dongle adapter, the adapter will stay attached to the headphones. The only challenge is making sure the adapter and the headphones will work together for the mic to work, that's why the headphones should say they work for iphone and the dongle must be the official one or one that is "made for iphone" just something that tells you they'll work together and when you put it on her phone just make sure the mic works for phone calls. Why on-ear headphones? just because they're smaller, that way maybe she can carry them on her neck without losing them when not in use and will be a bit more comfortable than bigger over ear headphones. For even lighter headphones, you could check the Koss KPH30 but also make sure the mic will work with the iphone adapter
Yes! I usually only play with headphones in the $200 and under range. I actually don't remember when I last paid more than $100 for a pair recently. I pretty much like anything from koss, I haven't tried the porta pros or kph-40 yet. The kph-30 and ktx-pros are good but the ksc-75 are still my favorite. ktx-pros are a little more warm and basey very similar to the kph-30. I never had a pair of mdr-7506 but I still have a pair of V6, but I don't know if you can still buy them. They're great for pop. I also tried some used Grado sr80s and I didn't like them as much as I'd hoped. They sounded really bland, like little to no base and midrange. Still like grado as a company and think they're worth trying again especially if I find a demo setup. I want to save up for some berrdynamic dt-770 or dt-990. I remember trying them in microcenter once and loving the sound.
Portas with yaxi is best combo in the world Anyway for rock portas as much better and portable and foldable ... To many advantages i like kph too though π
