**Koss KPH40**. I've got headphones a lot more expensive, but this gets like 90 percent of the headtime. Alternatively, if we're talking of over ears then **HD600** with the bass boost of **ifi Zen Dac**. Its lightweight, comfortable, durable, self-servicable and sounds good enough to the point where I don't feel the need to upgrade (until a much higher price point, but idk if I'll still go for headphones or a speaker system at that price).

Sucks that it has broken on me every year when used moderately. Else yeah sound quality is great for the price.

Im a huge metalhead. I picked up the Apos Rock Lobster IEMs for $50 bc they are tuned specifically for metal and rock and I have to say that are really good for the money. but if you def want headphones koss kph40s

Koss KSC75/KPH30/KPH40/Porta Pro all all within that $20-40 range but they aren't as durable. I believe the cables like to break on these because they are thin and lack stress relief. Alternatively you could go Samson SR850 or Superlux HD661 but those are only semi-open so outside sounds are slightly damped. To be honest I don't think open backs make people quieter, once you got some audio playing it kind of blocks out ambient noise. At least I assume thats why you want open backs in this case. For the record, Koss headphones sound VERY open, but again these things break with careful adults so you can imagine what children can do. On that note, can anyone seeing this back up the claim that the KPH30 clear is less prone to snapping than the other KPH30 models?

I mean, since that logitech weighs 160 grams, the only headphones under that weight would be on ears like the Koss KPH40. I had the chance to try one and it was fantastic at pinpointing directional audio in music. I think it should do well for gaming. However, that is an open back, wired headphone which happens to be at the other end of the headphone spectrum compared to what you're using.

I use Koss KPH40. Open back driver, sits lightly on top of your ears while clearing the horn, and has good sound for being cheap

For biking, I use Creative Outlier Free (not plus) bone conduction headphones. It's been going strong for a year+ and is cheaper than Shokz. I own an old Shokz, they still work but use old Bluetooth protocol and is micro USB. The Creative is a little iffy with multi-point and may disconnect depending on connection to other device. The magnetic charging cable is divisive in that there's no way to charge via usb c. It's also been rebranded as Raycon bone conduction headphones... Despite all those, it's my workhorse whenever I go biking. I've also been getting into Flat-Head style earbuds. If you wanted to try this style (MX500 shell), I'd recommend the FAEEAL Snow Lotus 1.0 (\~$10) to try a good all-rounder. Flat-Heads are a breath of fresh air from IEMs and over-ear headphones. Sound is generally airy and not good in noisy environments. Your ear also might not be the right shape for flat heads. Ideally, you want the flat-head to hang on your tragus and anti-tragus with the stem nestled in the intertragal notch. The flat head should just hover right outside your canal, and your ear shape should take care of the rest. I was considering getting Sony LinkBuds Open, but there have been too many reports of them failing (battery or driver) after a year. There's also the tried and true Koss KPH40. Extremely light and comfortable. They sound great as well. Only con is no detachable cable (it is modular with their proprietary cables, though). Be sure to get YAXI pads with them.

Also an r70x owner and my favorite headphones are the Koss KPH40. I use them more than anything I own. I'm curious about these ones tho

I love the porta pros, but imo... the KPH40 are porta pros but just a little bit better.

I've spent so much money on headphones and ended up just wearing my KPH40s all the time.

I'm wearing a KPH40 right now which is nearly the same and IMO more comfortable. Bang for your buck is unbeatable. Only reason I wouldn't recommend them is if you need a closed set.
