r/audiophile • Music gift for a teenager ->in that price range i'd go for another set of iems but if you really want a headphone in that price, off the top of my head i'd only look at stuff from koss like their porta pro model
r/HeadphoneAdvice • Headphones for rock music? ->I am used to hd600 and the porta pro sounds muddy and not very high quality But damn any 80s songs with them are extremely satisfying By the way, anyone knows any attachable mics I can use with porta pros? I want to use it as a headset, but cant find a mic to fit it
r/headphones • What headphone do you always find yourself going back to? ->Koss KSC75/KPH30/KPH40/Porta Pro all all within that $20-40 range but they aren't as durable. I believe the cables like to break on these because they are thin and lack stress relief. Alternatively you could go Samson SR850 or Superlux HD661 but those are only semi-open so outside sounds are slightly damped. To be honest I don't think open backs make people quieter, once you got some audio playing it kind of blocks out ambient noise. At least I assume thats why you want open backs in this case. For the record, Koss headphones sound VERY open, but again these things break with careful adults so you can imagine what children can do. On that note, can anyone seeing this back up the claim that the KPH30 clear is less prone to snapping than the other KPH30 models?
r/HeadphoneAdvice • Cheapest open-back headphones - for kids, so that they can hear other people and as well as their own voice ->I use both open and closed back headphones for meetings. I never have any conversation bleed from open backs. I most use my Koss porta pros for meetings. They are not great for all day use though. My ears get sore after an hour of use. For longer meetings I'll use my Sennheiser HD 6XX, FIIO FT1, or Meze 109 Pro depending on my mood.
r/headphones • For work (conversations, not music) should I get closed, open, or semi-open headphones? ->I picked up the Koss Porta Pro Wireless. They are foldable and not as bulky as most over ear headphones. Sometimes I take the included case but usually just don’t. [Koss Porta Pro](https://koss.com/products/porta-pro-wireless)
r/onebag • What compact over ear headphones do you travel with? ->Same I don't understand the love for the FT1 it sounded so muddy to me even porta pro has better fidelity!
r/headphones • Tried the Fiio FT1… Am I Missing Something? ->What do you use them for? My Porta Pros are older than your time frame. I did buy new pads for them though, and it's nice they are available. The cord on them seems fine but other Koss products are not the same. For example you can take cheap Koss models and do updates on them by making detachable cables so one of the bigger risks is nullified. You can replace the head band to some degree but the mount to them may not be anything particular.
r/BuyItForLife • Can someone recommend some headphones that don't break easily? ->SHP9600 are a very large headphones, they are supposed to have more clamp force than my SHP9500 which are a very clamp force light, but the diameter of the ear cups is huge and so I would still worry they will be just too big to be worn comfortably on a small head. There are a lot of complains by adults with small heads, particularly women, for whom SHP9500 was too big, and hence uncomfortable to wear (if it even stayed on their heads). Unfortunately I don't think I have used anything good for less. I have Samson SR850, comfort is hit and miss (might be fine for small heads, but not for large ones), but the treble are very sharp and harsh I would say it is not worth wearing out they hearing, and also the headphone's whole construction is very microphonic to the point you hear various noises when moving your head, There are also Koss headphones (I have clip on KSC75 which I like, and headband one Koss Porta Pro which I don't as I find them too muddy), but I would worry about the reliability. There are sometimes some leftovers/refurbishes of various discontinued Sennheisers on-ears from PX and PMX series available on local markets so I would perhaps look if there are any. ISK has $40 open backed model called HF2010 which is roughly based on Beyerdynamics headphones construction, it has good reviews, so maybe it is something to check.
r/HeadphoneAdvice • Cheapest open-back headphones - for kids, so that they can hear other people and as well as their own voice ->The wireless 2.0 works well for phone calls. Same sound signature as the originals as well.
r/headphones • What headphone do you always find yourself going back to? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
