Yo, I just went through this process. Unfortunately, all the wireless gaming headphones are lack luster in some way. Maxwell was the closest to what I wanted but went through two broken pairs so there's quality issues with the current versions and they're heavy. Corsair Virtuoso XT are great for FPS shooters and with an EQ actually have decent sound for media consumption but they get blown out of the water by professional headphones, and the battery is really bad and have to charge 1-2 times a day, mic imo is decent. Astro A50x is good with everything but sound. In FPS games I was missing so much detail compared to other headphones with them. I bought myself a Fiio BTR17 portable amp and now settled with Sennheiser HD 490 pro with a 4.4mm balanced cable. The portable amp makes the wired headphones into a wireless setup. I keep the amp in my pocket with the wire down my side, but Im thinking of even other methods like attaching the amp to the side of the headphone and using a very short cable. I added a Tonor microphone: [https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DG2RSR77](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DG2RSR77) attached to the side of the headphones which has great sound quality. Also got a bluetooth USB that makes the wireless range ridiculously good. I like this set up because it's the best sound and microphone quality while keeping it wireless. I should throw in that the HD 490s are insanely comfortable and light headphones. People praise them for the comfort and I absolutely agree, you sometimes forget you're even wearing them because they fit like a glove. You can't even compare the sound quality of gaming headphones (apart from Maxwells) to professional headphones like the 490s. I can hear details, subtelties and separate sounds with them that you can't with most gaming headphones. Only draw back is having to charge the microphone and amp separately, and having to turn bluetooth on/off in windows settings at launch so it pairs with my amp (but could probably fix that with a script that launches when windows starts). I tried the MMX 330 pro before the HD 490 and that is very good if you don't mind wired.

You have the A50 Gen 5, but the A50X sound better on PS5. With the Gen 5 you have to select the "all audio" function in the output device, while with the X you select "audio chat." They have superior sound.

I've tried both and I definitely notice the difference. Connect your Astro headset to your PC and you'll see... I already tested the Gen 5 headset on PS5, then I tried them on PC and there's no comparison. I returned the Gen 5 headset and bought the X headset because I play on PS5.

I'll check it out, but I don't understand English... anyway, in my opinion, I've tried both and I'll tell you what I think: the X sound better on PS5, and it's not just a placebo effect because, as I've already told you, yours sound better on PC. If you want to convince yourself otherwise, then good for you.

I like my Astro A50 Xs. They're damn near indestructible and sound pretty good too

I will never understand how anyone could like anything Steel Series for headsets specifically for Xbox. I’ve gone through several of them, from the lower end models to the Nova Pro wireless. The wireless dongle that connects to the Xbox has difficulty with staying connected. I’ve learned after so much frustration that these headsets for whatever reason, have issues with the frequency of elite controllers and steel series xbox headsets. It’s even more of an issue when utilizing Discord VC directly through Xbox. Everyone I play with who had a steel series has the same issues with Discord where your mic just cuts out for no reason. Swapped to Astro A50 X. Never had that problem again.

Are you sure you got the A50x? I just bought them too and they're pretty great. One thing stuck out, you mentioned clamping force. I just moved on from the Audeze Penrose (ridiculous clamp when they were new) and just tested the Arctis Nova Pros. I also have Turtle Beach Stealth 700 in the house, also ridiculous clamp. I think the Astro A50x is the most comfortable headset I've ever tried out of the box. One of the first thoughts that I has when first putting them on was how light the clamp was. It has way less clamp than Audeze and Turtle Beach, and slightly less than the Nova Pros. After customizing the EQ, they're easily the best headset I've ever used for spatial awareness and footsteps for FPS games and it's not close, really.

I had the exact same issue. They felt better after a good 10 hours of use I’d say. My mic is better than any of my friends now too. Everyone says it sounds like I’m talking in person to them it’s so good. As someone who only plays competitive fps games, sounds is amazing and I hear everything. Then again, everything these days is case by case because who knows how big your head is or how your ears perceive sound compared to mine. I love them so far though (:
