I got my Maxwell 2 yesterday and after using a Logitech Pro X (Gen 1) for years. Honestly, I can't believe I've been missing this much audio. They're a little heavy, yeah. But get the strap with them and you're solid. 24 hours in and I'm absolutely loving them. Was worried I'd regret the purchase but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
I didn't have any of the new ones, but I had the wired version a few years back. Sound was not amazing... But I used them, then the ear cushion started flaking badly, and seeing there were basically no replacements. (0 from Logitech, idk if that changed since) I moved onto beyerdynamic DT900 PRO X. And honestly, it was like going from the beige plastic old PC speakers, to IMAX audio... I'm now always recommending good headphones, with an external mic, if someone asks. Also the beyerdynamic MMX series is pretty good.
I use the G Pro X wired headset with Arc Raiders and I can very clearly tell the direction of footsteps, gunfire, explosions, etc. Is it just the above and below sounds that are hard to distinguish, or all sound directions entirely?
Logitech G Pro X (wired) EPOS H6PRO (open or closed) HyperX Cloud Alpha (or Cloud Stinger 2 if on tighter budget) SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 (wired USB‑C) the EPOS H6PRO is the strongest single recommendation. If you want to save more cash but still avoid trash mics, the Logitech G Pro X (wired) is the next best bet, especially if PC play and Discord are a big part of your usage.
Had Pro X Wired, decided i got tired of switching them between my Gaming Desktop PC and Laptop, so got the wireless version for Desktop, and gonna use wired version with Laptop. So far so good, sounds great in games to me, music sounds great, then again i'm not too picky of a person. been using Logitech headsets for years now
i use the original pro x wired they have been good they are bass heavy when using the usb dac
