Oh, and it looks like you might not be distinguishing between the OG Meze Empyrean and the Empyrean II? Both great headphones but diffferent tunes.

The OGs are a lot more ‘fun’ the 2s are much more of an audiophile headphone so they do technically sound better and have better reviews. I’m not an audiophile and with the OGs being half the price (got mine for around 1.2k dollars or under a 1000 in GBP).

As a bass head i highly recommend trying the meze empyrean 1 if u ever have the chance. I heard it once and bought a pair lol. Way cheaper then the 1266 but fuck it’s good

I'm on the same quest. Nothing wrong with the ZMFs or Meze Liric 2, but nothing blew me away either compared to my end-game Bluetooths (Solitaire T) or open-backs (LCD-5, Empyrean). Could be that they require a while to break in. Given my recent experience, I'd jump straight to Dan Clark by process of elimination. Not a fan of Focal Stellia due to strong metallic timbre. Not impressed with Liric 1.

I def would, these things are sick if they’re in your budget they’re great. They feel do nice in hand. They’re def a bit bassy and warm so if they your vibe forsure I think you’ll enjoy them
