I ordered one, €29 over here. If nothing else it looks like a comfortable choice for casual podcast listening.
r/headphones • £20 Philips Ringo: best Bluetooth headphones sub £100 ->Received mine today. Comfort is excellent as they’re so light. Looks are fun, grey and yellow and orange pads are included. Clamping force is perfect for me. For €29 headphones the sounds is excellent. Pretty veiled, but there is some real bass. And the midrange is excellent. Very good for acoustic, older rock music etc. **EDIT:** after spending some more time with them, found out you can EQ them via the Philips app. I’m using the “Powerful” preset (translated from Dutch) and it makes the sound even more fun. Definitely V-shaped but plenty of detail and a decent low end! I’m definitely going to use these as “around the house / town non critical listening” headphones. Lightweight, comfortable, no biggie if they get damaged, you’re not closed of from the outside world. Great find OP!
r/headphones • £20 Philips Ringo: best Bluetooth headphones sub £100 ->Hello, I haven’t really seen much coverage of this product online, and I thought it deserves some more attention so I will try to share my thoughts. This headphone is not available in many countries, but I was able to buy it from Aliexpress for around £20($26) including postage. A retro-style lightweight Bluetooth openback headphones from Philips to celebrate their 100th anniversary. In this product category, the closest competitor I could think of is Koss porta pro, Kph30i or the wireless koss porta pro all of which cost more than this product. I’ve also compared it to some grados and my HD6XX and HD560s. Given the price range, I was shocked at the tonal balance and the resolution. I would say Grado and Koss both have a very distinct texture of sound that makes it sound really cheap with little bass. In my ears, Ringo definitely has a more balanced V shape sound signature and has less of that cheap texture to the sound. Given my experience and preference, I would take this over Grado SR60/80i/e or Koss porta pro/kph30 any day for its timbre and tuning even if it was the same price point. Don’t get me wrong, the resolution or timbre isn’t gonna beat an HD6XX, and the build is quite cheap. But I find the build with its metal headband more sturdy than any of the Koss headphones that can even be triple the price. For a fun sounding Bluetooth headphones with 26 hour battery, lightweight and decent retro design AND built in app eq for around £20 is crazy. I’ve got too many headphones and have bought all the headphones mentioned in this review, but I will be keeping these around which is the biggest compliment I can give as I have given away/sold the all the Koss products. I’m no expert and have no intention to try over selling these but for anyone who’s considering a sub 100 open back Bluetooth headphones, these are the best in my experience!
