Out I that lineup I own the: KSC75 Moondrop Old fashioned Philips X2HD Portapros Sportaproa I used to own the: HE400 MDR7506 I’ve owned my AKG240’s for almost 16 years now and know them well. I love them. For 80 dollars you get an excellent set of cans. Hard to dislike them imo. They have a good soundstage, feel fairly balance and when driven and eq’d do alright, I love them for gaming at this point. It’s all I really use them for at this point along side the X2HR’s But tbh, they are all great in their own way. I probably use the KSC75 the most out of all of them. I’m still getting a feel for the old fashioned but so far they are really good. Fill the bottoms more than the ksc75’s. They are closer in sound and feel to the ksc75’s than the portapros

I own a pair of the X2HR and I find them to be one of the best feeling/most comfortable headphones I own. Capra Audio headbands also help a ton with comfort if they have them for whatever set you’re interested in.

"Gaming _____" = overpriced garbage. Just grab audiophile headphones. I have the Phillips Fidelio XHR2. Its lasted me years, sounds absolutely amazing and still looks brand new

Any pair of comfy headphones (I like the Philips X2HR) and a decent mic (I'm using the Rode NT-USB) Works well

Forget about “gaming headsets”. This is what you need. Philips X2HR Headphones https://a.co/d/3yykOXx V Moda Boom Pro Mic https://a.co/d/5bzTXvt I’ve been using this exact setup for years. Probably 3-4 years at this point. I have tested and returned other headphones and headsets- this is the BEST setup I have found. Works with Xbox and PS5. No need to look elsewhere.

Exactly. And not just that, these honest sound the best to me out of ANY other set up I’ve tried. The closest is the Philips SHP9500 (not 9600). You could save a few bucks and get the SHP9500 and be just fine. I still use them sometimes when I’m bored, it’s just the X2HRs sound a hair better and are more comfortable to me.

Definitely agree but I have used my X2HRs for FPS games a lot and they work for me. What would you suggest as a better FPS headphone?

Ditch the integrated mic idea and use a detachable one. I fucking hate Modmic, but no one has made a worthy competitor to their products yet so I begrudgingly still use and recommend them. In my opinion the best general-use headphones under $300 or so are the Philips Fidelio X2HR which retail for $170ish in the US at least, those plus a ModMic USB will be just under $300 USD and I guarantee will blow away any sort of ‘gaming’ headphones out there.

Been using the Philips Fidelio X2HR and a separate mic since 2019 without issue. Replaced ear pads once.

I just ordered the Phillips Fidelio X2HR for 66 euro on Amazon. Don't think you can beat that for the price.

Since you already love Beyerdynamic the Tygr 300 is the best recommendation I can give you, have been using it for years on PC. I wish I could use it on my Xbox but unfortunately I can't without a mic attached to it. So I just received the Philips Fidelio X2HR and my V moda mic and this combination is amazing sounding as well (and cheap, paid around 100 euro for the combi) It's very easy to pinpoint people in Arc Raiders and which floor they are on now compared to the Nova 7x I used before.

I just got the X2HR today so that's hard to say but I always did like the Tygr for music as well. But it's really reallyyy good for gaming, very wide soundstage and precise imaging. Did read beforehand that the X2HR is very good for music and movies but haven't tried on either yet just Arc and in that its amazing.
